Getting Started Insert SIM Card and Battery
1Open the door at the bottom of the device.
Insert the SIM card into the SIM slot as shown.
Now, insert the battery, lining up the contact points as shown and
replace the door back on the device.

You must have an account with a service provider. Your service provider may have provided activation instructions
in this packaging. Otherwise, contact your service provider for complete instructions.
Getting Started Charge the Battery

1Connect the microUSB end of the Wall Charger to the microUSB port
of the device.
Plug the other end of the Wall Charger into the appropriate electrical
outlet. Charge for at least two hours.
You are now ready to install MobiLink software and drivers. In order
to install MobiLink you must use the USB cable (included).

IMPORTANT: When installing or replacing a battery, ensure that the
MiFi modem is not connected to your computer with the USB cable
or a USB power supply. Review the Battery Tips and Safety disposal
instructions at the back of this guide.

» Turn on your computer and close all open applications.
» Insert the USB cable into the microUSB port on MiFi
and the other end into a USB port on your computer.
Start the newly installed MobiLink software.
Click the Menu Icon and select .

Wi-Fi The Basics LED States
Insert the microUSB end of the USB cable to the microUSB port of
MiFi and the other end into a USB port on your computer.
The Power LED and 3G status indicator on the device both illuminate.
Press the Power LED button and launch MobiLink.

There are two methods to connect MiFi to your computer:
USB Cable or Wi-Fi.
Connect MiFi with the the USB Cable
Connect MiFi via Wi-Fi
Press the Power button on MiFi. The Power LED and the 3G status
indicator on the device both illuminate.
Press the Power LED button and launch MobiLink.
Use your normal Wi-Fi application on your computer to establish a
connection to the MiFi modem.
Look for the network, named TBD, in your list of available networks
and click Connect.

• Avoid storing your device in extreme temperatures.
• Store your device in a dry and clean environment.
• Avoid spilling any liquid on your device or immersing it in water.
• Do not place any labels on the device as doing so could alter the
sensitivity of the antenna.
• Do not force the cable into the USB port.
• Do not force the SIM card into the SIM card slot.
• Do not apply force to the top or bottom of your device.
• Remove the cable from the USB port before transporting your
computing device.

support equipment, or near any equipment that may be susceptible to
any form of radio interference. In such areas, the host communications

must suspend wireless operations before boarding an airplane. Please

Battery tips
Battery life depends on the network, signal strength, temperature, features,
and accessories you use.
-Always use Novatel Wireless Original batteries and chargers. The warranty
does not cover damage caused by non-Novatel Wireless batteries and/or
chargers.
-New batteries or batteries stored for a long time may take more time to
charge.
-When charging your battery, keep it near room temperature.
-When storing your battery, keep it uncharged in a cool, dark, dry place.
-Never expose batteries to temperatures below -10°C (14°F) or above 45°C
(113°F). Never leave the device in an unattended vehicle due to uncontrollable
temperatures that may be outside the desired temperature for this device.
-It is normal for batteries to gradually wear down and require longer charging
times. If you notice a change in your battery life, it is probably time to purchase
a new battery.
Contact your local recycling center for proper battery disposal.
WARNING:
Before using the MiFi Modem, read the battery safety information in the
“Safety and General Information” section at the back of this guide. You will
need to install and charge the battery as described on page XX. Some batteries
perform best after several full charge/discharge cycles.

Proper Battery Use and Disposal
IMPORTANT: In event of a battery leak:
-Do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or the eyes. If contact has
advice.
-Seek medical advice immediately if a battery has been swallowed.
-Communicate the appropriate steps to be taken if a hazard occurs.
Please review the following guidelines for safe and responsible battery use:
-Do not disassemble or open, crush, bend or deform, puncture, or shred.
-Do not modify or remanufacture, attempt to insert foreign object into the battery,
hazard.
-Do not short circuit a battery or allow metallic or conductive object to contact the
battery terminals.

-Battery usage by children should be supervised.
