CA 440TW Owners ManualCAUTION!Be certain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this or any re-mote vehicle starting device. A running engine produces dangerouscarbon monoxide fumes which can be harmful or fatal if prolongedexposure occurs. DO NOT remote start the vehicle if the car isgaraged
REMOTE STARTING THE VEHICLE:The system WILL NOT start the vehicle if any one of the following situationsexist:1. The vehicle's hood is opened.2. The gear shift selector is not in Park.3. The brake pedal is depressed.1. To start the vehicle, press and release the transmitter button 2 timeswithin 2 seconds. The vehicle will start and remain running for the pre-programmed 5, 10, 15, 20 minute run cycle. As a visual indication, theparking lights will flash or remain on depending on the setting by yourinstallation center.2. When you arrive at the vehicle, turn the ignition key to the ON position(Do not try to restart the vehicle), then step on the brake pedal to disengagethe remote start. The vehicle will continue to run, but now on it's ownpower.2 - WAY TRANSMITTER CONFIRMATION:The 2-way transmitter confirms the commands sent to the system byilluminating the transmitter button. When the system recieves a commandfrom the 2-way transmitter, a signal is then sent back to the transmitter andthe transmitter's button will begin to flash. The number of flashes willindicate the vehicle's status.2 Flashes Vehicle recieved command1 Flash every 8 seconds Vehicle is remote started4 Flashes Vehicle did not start
SHUTING DOWN THE REMOTE START:To shut down the remote start feature form the transmitter press and releasethe transmitter button 2 times within 2 seconds.UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE (optional):To unlock the vehicle's doors press and hold the transmitter button for 3seconds anytime the vehicle is remote started.Note: Additional parts and/or labor may be necessary, see your installingdealer for details.VALET MODE:Valet Mode is used to disable the system from remote starting. To enter or exitvalet mode simply follow the 4 steps outlined below:1. Push and hold the programming/valet button.2. Cycle the ignition ON/OFF, ON/OFF, ON/OFF.3. Release the programming/valet button.TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING:If the need arises for programming of additional or replacement transmitters,simply follow the 4 steps outlined below:1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.2. Press and release the programming button 3 times.3. Press and hold the button of the transmitter you wish to add for 3seconds. The parking lights will flash indicating the transmitter has beenlearned.4. Repeat step 3 for each transmitter up to a total of 4.
