K. Programming Channel ControlYou can program the channel controls (ChannelUp, Channel Down, Last and Numbers) from one Deviceto operate in another Device mode. Default channel con-trol settings on the remote control are as follows:CBL : CBL  T V :CBL AUD : AUD DVD :DVD AUX :AUXIf you wish to store the TV channel controls in TV mode,use the following steps.STEP1    Press the [OK/SEL] button and [TV] button simulta-neously for three seconds. The device LED will turnon for 30 seconds. The next step must be performedwhile the LED is on.STEP2    Press the [VOL] button. The device LED willblink.STEP3    Press [TV] button. The device LED will blink twice toconfirm the programming.*Note : To return TV device to CBL channel repeat stepsabove replacing [TV] with [CBL] in Step 3.L. Programming a ‘Macro’ button.If your remote model has custom-programmable Macro but-tons available(See Section 4), they can be programmed to actas a 'Macro' or Favorite Channel button in CABLE mode.  Thisallows you to program up to five 2-digit channels, four 3-digitchannels or three 4-digit channels that can be accessed withone button press. STEP1    Press the [CBL] button to select the CBL mode.STEP2    Press the [MACRO] button and [OK/SEL] buttonsimultaneously for 3 seconds. The [CBL] buttonwill turn on for 30 seconds.STEP3    Enter the the 2, 3 or 4-digit code for the channel you want programmed first (for example,007) using the Number Pad, then press the[STOP] button. Then enter the code for the nextchannel (for example, 050), then press the [STOP]button. Repeat this process for the third channel.The [CBL] button will blink once for each channelentered.STEP4    Press the [CH] button to store the channelsthat were selected. The [CBL] button will blinktwice to confirm the storage of commands.To access the programmed channels, press the [MACRO]button once. This will bring up the first channel. Pressonce again and it will bring up the second channel. Pressagain and it will bring up the third channel.M. RF Setting Method.(RF Frequency: 418Mhz)STEP1    After installing the MRF-250C, press the [CBL]and [LIST] button simultaneously for 3 sec-onds. The [CBL] device LED will turn on indi-cating that it is ready to be programmed. TheLED will remain on for 30 seconds.STEP2    Enter the 2-digit ID number assigned to yourMRF-250C ID #.  (00~09, A : 10, B : 11, C : 12, D : 13,E : 14, F : 15)STEP3    Once you have completed RF ID setting, Store the2-digit number by pressing the [CBL] button onceagain. The [CBL] device LED will blink twice toconfirm that the RF ID number has been stored.*Note : Install and select the ID # on the MRF-250C. (Forfurther details, refer to the MRF-250C manual.) Youcan operate up to 15 different equipment locations,each with an MRF-250C unique Receiver ID #. N. Low Battery WarningWhen the batteries are low and need to be replaced withfresh batteries, the Device LED lights will blink 2 times inH. Programming the AUX DeviceYou can take advantage of the AUX function to program adevices such as a media PC, gaming console or satelliteradio receiver. Follow the instruction in section B to pro-gram an AUX device. You can also program the AUX but-ton for a second TV, DVD or Audio Device. To do this fol-low the instructions below.STEP1    Turn on the 5th device you want to program (TV,AUD, DVD, etc.).STEP2    Press the [AUX] button and the [OK/SEL] buttonsimultaneously for 3 seconds. The [AUX] deviceLED will turn on for 30 seconds.STEP3    Press the [Device] button For the type of device youwant to setup. Point the remote control toward thedevice and enter the 3-digit code number assigned toyour brand.*Note : To program a second TV press TV, etc.STEP4    When the equipment turns off verify that youhave selected the correct code by pressing the[POWER] button. The equipment should turnback on. Then try all of the functions on theremote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) to ensureyou have the correct code. If any of the functionsdo not operate as they should, enter the next 3-digit code number from the brand list.STEP5    Once you have found the correct 3-digit code, save itby pressing the [AUX] button one more time. The[AUX] LED light will blink twice to confirm the codewas stored.I. Programming the System On/Off ButtonThis allows you to program the System On/Off button so itcan send up to five power On/Off commands with one but-ton press.STEP1    Press the [CBL] button.STEP2    Press the [SYSTEM ON/OFF] button and the[OK/SEL] button simultaneously for 3 seconds.The [CBL] button will turn on for 30 seconds.STEP3    Press the first [DEVICE] button you want to store inthe [SYSTEM ON/OFF] button and then the [POWER]button. Repeat this for other Components until youhave stored all the desired power commands into the[SYSTEM ON/OFF] button.STEP4    Press the [CH] button to save the power com-mands you stored. The [CBL] button will blinktwice to confirm the commands have beensaved.J. Programming Volume ControlVolume and Mute control are factory programmed to auto-matically transfer to the respective Device mode Youselect, as follows:CBL : CBL  T V :TV AUD : AUDDVD :TV AUX : AUXIf you wish to store the TV volume control in CBL mode,use the following steps.STEP1    Press the [OK/SEL] button and [CBL] buttonsimultaneously for three seconds. The deviceLED will turn on for 30 seconds. The next stepmust be performed while the LED is on.STEP2    Press the [VOL] button. The device LED willblink.STEP3    Press [TV] button. Quick Set-Up MethodSTEP1    Turn on the equipment you want to program. To pro-gram your TV, turn on the TV.STEP2    Point the remote at the component and pressand hold the [DEVICE] key for 3 seconds until theDevice LED blinks off and turns back on.Continue holding the [DEVICE] key and press thenumber keys, one at a time, starting with 1, then2, 3...0. Stop pressing the number keys when thedevice turns off.STEP3    Release the [DEVICE] key to save the code. TheDevice LED will blink twice to confirm the code isstored.Repeat the steps above for all components (TV, AUD,DVD, AUX).B. Pre-Programmed 3-Dight Code MethodSTEP1    Turn on the equipment that you want the remotecontrol to operate (Cable Box, TV, DVD, etc.).STEP2    Press the [DEVICE] button and the [OK/SEL] buttonsimultaneously for three seconds. The corre-sponding device LED will turn on indicating that itis ready to be programmed. The LED will remainon for 30 seconds. The next step must be enteredwhile the LED is on.STEP3    Point the remote control toward the equipmentand enter the three-digit code number assignedto your brand from the code tables. If there aremore than one three-digit number listed for yourbrand, try one code number at a time until yourequipment turns off.*Note :  You can verify that you have selected the correctcode by pressing the [POWER] button. The equip-ment should turn back on. Then try all of the func-tions on the remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.)to ensure you have the correct code. If any of thefunctions do not operate as they should, repeat theinstructions from STEP 3 above using the nextthree digit code number from the brand list.STEP4    Store the three-digit code by pressing the same[DEVICE] button once again. The device LED willblink twice to confirm that the code has beenstored.C. Auto-Search MethodIf none of the three digit code numbers assigned to yourbrand of equipment works, or the code table does not listyour brand, you can use the Auto Search Method to find thecorrect three-digit code number for your equipment by fol-lowing steps:STEP1    Turn on the equipment that you want the remotecontrol to operate (Cable Box, TV, DVD, etc.).STEP2    Press the [DEVICE] button and the[OK/SEL] button simultaneously for threeseconds. The device LED will turn on indi-cating that it is ready to be programmed. The LED will remain on for30 seconds. The next step must be enteredwhile the LED is on.STEP3    Press the [CH] or [CH] button one at a time orkeep it pressed. The remote will emit a series ofPower ON/OFF code signals. Release the [CH] or[CH] button as soon as the equipment turns off.*Note : You can verify that you have selected the correctcode by pressing the [POWER] button. The equip-ment should turn back on. Then try all of the func-tions on the remote control (i.e. volume, mute, etc.) toensure you have the correct code. If any of the func-tions do not operate as they should, repeat theinstructions from STEP 3 above to continue the AutoSearch Method.STEP4    Press the same [DEVICE] button to store the code.The Device LED will blink twice to confirm that thecode has been stored.D. The Learning MethodSTEP1    Press the [DEVICE] button (TV,AUD, DVD, or AUX) tobe programmed and the [ASPECT] buttons simulta-neously for 3 seconds until the Device LED light turnson.STEP2    Line up the PHAZR-5 to the remote control youwant to "learn" from, head-to-head, 1 or 2 inchesapart.STEP3    Press the button on the PHAZR-5 that you wantto teach a command to. For example, press the[MUTE] button to learn a command to the[MUTE] button.STEP4    Press and hold the button on the other remote thatcorresponds to the command you want to teachuntil the PHAZR-5 Device LED light blinks twice.*Note  :  The LED will blink 5 times if there was an errorin the learning process. Repeat STEPS 3 and 4if this occurs. Continue learning other buttonsby repeating STEPS 3 and 4.STEP5  Once you have completed teaching the PHAZR-5all desired commands for the component, savethe learned commands by pressing the [DEVICE]and [ASPECT] buttons simultaneously until theDevice LED blinks 3 times.  Now test all of thebuttons to make sure they operate correctly.E. Erasing a Single Learned CommandSTEP1  Press the [DEVICE] and [ASPECT] buttons simulta-neously for 3 seconds until the Device LED lightturns on.STEP2  Press and hold the button you want to erase for3 seconds. The Device LED will blink twice toconfirm the erasure.STEP3  To exit, press and hold both the [DEVICE] and[ASPECT] buttons simultaneously until theDevice LED blinks 3 times.F. Erasing All Learned Commands from One DeviceSTEP1  Press the [DEVICE] and [ASPECT] buttons simulta-neously for 3 seconds until the Device LED lightturns on.STEP2  Press and hold both the [DEVICE] button you wantto erase and the [PAUSE] button for 5 seconds.The Device LED will blink twice to confirm the era-sure.STEP3 To exit, press and hold both the [DEVICE] and[ASPECT] buttons simultaneouslyG.To Identify the 3-Digit Code Programmed for aDeviceSTEP1    Press the appropriate [DEVICE] button and the[OK/SEL] button simultaneously for three sec-onds. The device LED will turn on for 30 seconds.The next step must be performed while the LEDis on.STEP2    Press the [INFO] button. The device LED will blinka number of times indicating the number of eachdigit for the code. Each digit is separated by a onesecond interval of the LED being off.Example :One blink, (pause) three blinks, (pause) eightblinks indicates the code number 138.*Note : Ten blinks indicates the number 0.sequence whenever a [POWER] button is pressed to turnon equipment.O. Memory Lock SystemThis remote control is designed to retain programmedmemory for 10 years even after batteries are removedfrom the remote control.P. In this section when you are instructed to press a [DEVICE] button, that means to press either the CBL, TV, AUD,DVD or AUX button, depending on what device you are programming the remote to operate.There are five ways you can program your remote:* Quick Set-Up Method * The Pre-Programmed 3-Digit Code Method* The Auto-Search Method * The Learning Method * RF Setting MethodThe Quick Set-Up Method is a unique feature that enables the fastest and easiest setup by using a 1 digitcode. This is the quickest way to set up devices made by popular manufacturers.The Pre-Programmed Code Method allows you to setup all of the buttons at once by entering 3-digitcode numbers that correspond with the components manufacture/brand. Code tables for this methodare on the backside of the operating instructions.The Auto-Search Method scans through all of the codes in the remote control, one at a time allowing youto identify the correct code.The Learning Method allows you to transfer functions from other remotes to the PHAZR-5 one button at a time.IMPORTANT SETUP NOTE! This pertains to all programming steps. When you are in setup mode the device LED will light for 30 seconds.
