MX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENCongratulationsYou’ve purchased a unique synthesis ofhardware and software engineering, theComplete Control MX-3000i. The twin goalsof the design team were to improve theelegance and usability of touch screensthrough the physical design while providinga new standard in brightness, clarity andanimation for the touch screen itself.Easy OperationBy assigning the important home theater operational buttons to the natural resting place of the end users thumbs, the MX-3000i achieves anew standard in use and comfort.Automatic BacklightingThe integral motion sensor detects any movement of the touch screen andautomatically backlights the screen. You do not have to press any buttonto display the screen. Any movement of the MX-3000i renews the backlighting. To adjust the backlighting, see page 5.Connecting the Battery PackUnlock the rear cover by using a coin to move the locking screw to theUnlock position.Remove the cover. For shipment from the factory, the battery cable is left unplugged.Plug the cable into the socket next to the battery. The connector is slotted to prevent plugging it in the wrong way, so don’t force it.Replace the cover and lock it into place with a coin.LockedBattery Cable Plugged InUn-LockedMX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENUsing the Charging BasePlug the 5V DC adapter into apower outlet and into the back ofthe charging base.Gently place the MX-3000i into thecradle of the charging base.Push down on the base of the MX-3000i until you hear and feel afirm “click”.The Status light should immediatelylight. Red indicates that it is charging. Blue shows that it is fullycharged. There is no harm in leaving the MX-3000i on its charging basewhenever it is not in use. Programming the MX-3000iThe MX-3000i is programmed via a windows PC equipped with a USB port(we include a programming cable in the box), using our proprietarysoftware, MX-3000i Editor. You can download this software from our website:www.universalremote.comBasic setup takes only a few minutes with this software. However, to fullyautomate an audio/video system the user must have a detailed knowledgeof how the system is connected and operated. We highly recommend thatyou use a professional audio/video installer to program your MX-3000i ifyou would like to enjoy one touch operation via macros. MX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENNo More Pointing!The combination of the MX-3000i with it’s companion MRF-350i base station will enable you to place your audio/video components out of sightbehind closed doors and/or in another room of your house.  The MX-3000isends radio signals to the MRF-350i throughout your house (50-100’ away,indoors or outdoors).  The MRF-350i converts your commands to theinfrared signals that control your A/V components.1. The MX-3000i remote control sends radio waves inevery direction, so you don’thave to point the remote anymore!4. Self-adhesive “Flashers” affix to theInfrared sensors on the front panels of yourcomponents.  The Flashers relay commandsto components out of sight of the MRF-350i’s Front Blaster.  The flashers plug in tothe MRF-350i’s rear flasher line outputs viatheir 10 foot cables. Uniquely, the MRF-350ican also connect to rear panel IR Inputs viaits adjustable IR Line Outputs.3. The MRF-350i’s built-in Front Blaster sends commands tocomponents in the same cabinet space as the MRF-350i.2. The RFX-250i RF Sensor can be freelypositioned for optimal reception.MX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENOperating Your SystemThe MX-3000i’s MAIN menu displays the most popular activities anddevices in your system. Press the MAIN button to see the MAIN menu.Large systems may have more than one page. Press the page button if youdon’t see all your devices. Gently press any screen button with your finger  to select an activity or adevice. The screen will change to a display of the buttons you need forthat activity/device. The PAGE buttons may reveal additional buttons forsome devices and activities.When you would like to control another device, press the MAIN buttonand select a new device from the MAIN menu.The PAGE buttonsreveal additionalpages of buttonswhen they areavailable.The Volume andMute buttons arealways availableregardless of whatscreen is displayed.To select a touchscreen button,touch the screenwith a gentle tap ofyour finger.The 4 way cursorbuttons enable youto navigate onscreen guides andmenus with ease.The MAIN Button below thescreen always takes you to the firstpage of the MAIN Menu.Page 3 Page 4OCE-0026F_Rev01_130*220  2007.3.28 11:14 AM  페이지6
MX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENDisplaying the Settings ScreenYou can adjust the settings of the MX-3000i whenever you like by pressingand holding the MAIN button for five seconds. When you do, the screen willchange to the SETTINGS screen. If you do not press any button on the SETTINGS screen within 30 seconds, theMX-3000i will time out and automaticallyreturn to normal operation.Adjusting BacklightingIf you uncheck the check boxes, the MX-3000i will stay lit until the battery is exhausted. If you check the checkboxes, you can select from the list of delays.The amount of delay you select will be thehow long the MX-3000i stays lit. You can savebattery life this way.Adjusting BrightnessSimply touch and drag the brightness slider tothe desired level. Increased brightness doesaffect battery life.Button Light SettingsYou can opt to conserve battery life by disabling the LED lighting behind the buttons.This is done by pulling down the list box andselecting “always off” from the list.The Settings ScreenThe Backlight ScreenThe Brightness ScreenThe Button Light ScreenMX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENSoundYour MX-3000i may have been programmedto make sounds. This is optional, and someprofessional installers may prefer to keep itsilent. However, you can adjust the volumeto any level you like by touching and dragging the volume control here.Setting Time and DateYour MX-3000i may have been programmedto display the time or date on a touch screenbutton. If so, you can correct the time displayed by changing the settings on thisscreen.Power SettingsYou can display the remaining charge by selecting Power Settings. MX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENPickup SettingsYou can set your MX-3000i to only turn onwhen touched, or every time you move it.CalibrationIf you like, you can calibrate where you tapby running the calibration. You will need apen top or PDA stylus to do this. Do notattempt to calibrate using your fingers.Factory DefaultWARNING! Only use this button wheninstructed to by Technical Support. It resetsthe memory of the MX-3000i to the factorycondition. All your programming will be lost! ExitWhen you have finished adjusting Settings,simply tap the EXIT button to return to normal operation.The Pickup ScreenThe Calibration ScreenThe Default ScreenThe Exit ButtonMX-3000i COLOR TOUCH SCREENMaintaining Your MX-3000iBe careful not to scratch the touch screen, only use your finger to tap theLCD touch screen or use a plastic pen top or PDA stylus. Never use a realpen, pencil or any other sharp object on the screen. Keep it away fromextreme cold or heat. The MX-3000i is not waterproof. Do not use it in anylocation that is damp or wet. If you spill water on it, take out the battery pack and let the MX-3000i dry for48 hours before you try powering it up again. If you spill coffee or anotherbeverage on it, clean it with distilled water. Make sure no water gets insidethe MX-3000i. The touch screen contains a glass element. Don’t drop theMX-3000i or impact it against anything.Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the screen. If the screen still shows fingerprints, clean it with watered down window-cleaner. Do not use anythingabrasive and don’t use too much water, some might leak into the interior.WarrantyThe MX-3000i is covered against any manufacturing defects or faults inworkmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase whenpurchased from an authorized Complete Control dealer. Units purchased from online auction sites or other unauthorized resellers haveno warranty.
