1No More Pointing!The combination of the Aeros with it’scompanion MRF-250 base station willenable you to place your audio/videocomponents out of sight behind closeddoors and/or in another room of yourhouse. The Aeros sends radio signalsto the MRF-250 through walls andclosed doors (50-100’ away, indoors oroutdoors). The MRF-250 converts yourcommands to the infrared signals thatcontrol your A/V components.3. The built-in Front Blaster sends com-mands to components in the same cabi-net space as the MRF-250.1. The Aeros remote con-trol sends radio waves inevery direction, so youdon’t have to point theremote anymore!2. Self-adhesive “Flashers”affixed to the front panels ofcomponents relay com-mands to components outof  “line-of-sight” with theMRF-250.The AerosThe MRF-250
2Finding the MAIN MenuThe MAIN Button always takes you tothe MAIN Menu which may be namedfor the room the Aeros controls.The PAGE button switches betweentwo MAIN Menu pages IF you havemore than ten remote controls.When the top title bar says MAIN orthe name of a Room, you are on theMAIN Menu.The lower title bar displays PAGE 1 orPAGE 2 as you switch. Each of theremote controls the Aeros replaces arerepresented by a button next to thecorresponding screen label.
3Turn On Your Entire SystemPower on/off your entire systemwith the MAIN Menu by followingthese steps:1. Touch the MAIN button to makesure that you are on the MAIN Menu.It doesn’t matter which page of theMAIN Menu is displayed.2. Touch the On or Off button asdesired. Wait until all components arecorrectly powered on or off. Turning onthe system may take ten to twentyseconds.3. If one component does not turnon/off, simply touch the button again.TIP –The remote control willnot respond to a new buttonpush while is still issuing com-mands. While busy, theindicator flashes at the top ofthe screen next to the screentitle.
4Using the MAIN Menu The MAIN Menu enables you to eitherselect a new Activity or simply select anew Device to control.When you select a new activity, theremote control will issue a MACRO (atimed sequence of many commandsfrom many different remote controls).This MACRO was custom pro-grammed for your system by yourinstaller. It will issue all of the com-mands necessary to switch the soundand picture of your system. When you select a device, the remotecontrol becomes the remote controlyou select WITHOUT affecting thehome theater.Select a New ACTIVITY1. Touch the MAIN button to makesure that you are on the MAINMenu. Touch the PAGE button if youdon’t see the activity you want.2. Touch the activity button next tothe desired screen label. For exam-ple if you wish to watch a DVDmovie, touch the DVD button.
5The MAIN Menu activity buttons issueMACROS that reset the sound and picture of your home theater to a newactivity.TIP – The remote control is stillissuing commands while theindicator flashes.If the sound or the picture still arenot correct,  repeat steps 1 and 2.Select a DEVICE Only1. Touch the MAIN button to makesure that you are on the MAINMenu. Touch the Page button if youdon’t see the activity you want.2. Press and hold the MAIN button.While holding the MAIN buttondown, touch the button next to thedesired screen label. The remotecontrol will now display the name ofthe selected device and all buttonswill operate the device, however, thesound and the picture of your sys-tem have not been changed.
Controlling the VolumeFor your convenience, the VOLUMEUp, VOLUME Down and the MUTEbuttons will always control the sur-round sound system, regardless ofwhat activity or device you are control-ling.Operating any DeviceYou can see the name of the device atthe top of the screen.  If it is not theone you want, return to the MAINMenu and select a new device oractivity.All of the printedlabel buttons on theremote operate justlike the originalremote control (withthe exception ofVolume Up, VolumeDown and Mutewhich operate yoursurround sound sys-tem).6
7The Power ON and OFF buttons nowoperate only the selected device (toturn the entire system on/off, return tothe MAIN Menu).The ten screen labeled buttons arenow labeled with any commandsthat do not fit one of the buttons with printed labels.Up to 40 screen labeled buttons areavailable for each device. To viewthe additional buttons, press thePAGE button to display additionalpages. The remote control can dis-play up to four pages of screenlabeled buttons for each activity ordevice! As you scroll through thepages,  notice that the bottom titlebar displays which page you areviewing (PAGE 1, PAGE 2, etc.).
8The thumbpad easily operates onscreen menus with either the Left orRight hand. When you are operating adevice with any kind of on-screenmenu, guide or display, the thumbpadoffers you easy one-handed controlwith your thumb. To SELECT or say OK, simply pressthe center SEL button. You’ll feel theclick as the OK/SELECT/ENTERcommand is sent.Using FAV - FavoritesThe favorites menu is created uniquelyfor you by your custom installer. Thescreen labeled buttons now issuetimed sequences of commands thatwill reset your system with one touch.Typically, the favorites menu is pro-grammed with one touch “shortcut”buttons that issue all of the necessarycommands to change the channel ofyour satellite dish or television. Thus,instead of entering a two or three digitnumber (which you must remember)and the enter command, you simplyselect the favorite button labeled HBO,CNN, TNT etc.The Favorite menu can be programmedwith any favorite activity. It is not limitedto channel favorites. Your custominstaller may invent a feature unique to
9your system. Discuss any non-channelfavorite label with your installer, so thatyou understand how to use it.To use the FAVORITE Menu:1. Press the FAV button.  The toptitle bar will now display FAV.Use the FAV button and the PAGEbutton to navigate through your var-ious pages of FAVORITES. The FAVbutton scrolls up from Page 1 toPage 5, using the PAGE buttonscrolls down from Page 5 to Page 1.As you select a new page, the bot-tom title bar will display the pagenumber (page 1, page 2, etc.)To EXIT Fav and return to the lastactivity/device selected, press theMAIN button ONCE.  To EXIT Favand go to the MAIN Menu, press theMAIN button twice.
10BacklightingTurn on the back-lighting by pressingthe LIGHT button onthe right side of thethe remote control.The backlighting willstay on briefly, thenturn off automatical-ly. If you wish to turnit off without waiting,simply tap theLIGHT button again.* Note that your bat-tery life is reducedby how often you use the backlighting.Changing ContrastPress and Hold BOTH the MAIN andthe UP thumbpad button at the sametime to make the screen DARKER. Press and Hold BOTH the MAIN andthe DOWN thumbpad button at thesame time to make it LIGHTER.
11BatteriesIf the batteries are running low, thescreen will display a warning at the bot-tom of the screen whenever you pressthe Power ON button. You may alsoexperience a slight drop in the operatingdistance of either the Aeros remote con-trol when the batteries are running low.Please replace all of the batteries withfresh, new AAA batteries. Do not mixold and new batteries.The Aeros will retain all programmingeven if the batteries are removed foran extended period.Cleaning The ScreenDo not use abrasives or liquid cleaningsolutions!Use a dry soft lint-free cloth to cleanthe screen. Be careful not to useexcessive force. The screen is glassand is easily breakable.
12WarrantyThe Aeros is covered against any man-ufacturers defects or workmanship fora period of one year from the date ofpurchase if purchased from an author-ized Home Theater Master dealer.Units purchased from online auctionsites or other unauthorized resellershave no warranty.
