Ethernet LED:  Indicates the network connectivity status.●ON = Connected●OFF = Not Connected●Blinking = Attempting to connectReset Button: The front panel reset button offers a quick way to power cycle or reset the SNP-2 back to its factory state.● Power Cycle: Press to turn the unit OFF then back ONagain while retaining your music account information.(Ie. login and music libraries.)● Factory State: Pressing and holding for 15 seconds willrevert the SNP-2 back to its factory state while alsoremoving your music account information. Rear Panel DescriptionPower 12V (1A): The power socket accepts either UL/CSA approved110V power cords or CE approved 220V power cables to be usedwith the power supply.  The power supply’s operating range is from100V to 240V.LAN: A 10/100 LAN connection ensures that the SNP-2 sends anetwork stream to the DMS amplifiers. Page 5SNP-2 STREAMING NETWORK PLAYERInstallationTotal Control Interface View Only (Streaming Audio Device)The SNP-2 can be used as a streaming audio device in up to 32zones by broadcasting its proprietary audio signal over the localarea network to the Total Control system. The signal is then receivedby a DMS-100, DMS-1200 or a DMS-AV, all while the user controlsthe music selection from one of the Total Control interfaces like theTRC-1080.1. Plug the power cord into the rear of the SNP-2 and the otherend into a power outlet.2. Plug the Ethernet RJ45 cable to the LAN port in the rear ofthe SNP-2 and plug the other end into an available port of arouter or URC MFS switch. 3. Control the SNP-2 directly from a Total Control interface suchas a TRC-1080. (Requires the Custom Professional todownload the program to the Total Control system.)TRC‐1080
SNP-2 STREAMING NETWORK PLAYERHybrid Total Control SystemWhile the SNP-2 is streaming over the network, its interface can beviewed and controlled via an HDMI display such as a television oran audio/video receiver.1. Plug the power cord into the rear of the SNP-2 and the otherend into a power outlet.2. Plug the Ethernet RJ45 cable to the LAN port in the rear ofthe SNP-2 and plug the other end into an available port of arouter or URC MFS switch. 3. Plug the Ethernet RJ45 cable to the LAN port in the rear ofthe SNP-2 and plug the other end into an available port of arouter or URC MFS switch. 3. Connect an HDMI cable to the rear of the SNP-2 and anHDMI TV. 4. Connect a URC RF base station to the IR input of the SNP-2.  5. Page 8SNP-2 STREAMING NETWORK PLAYERNavigation Music MenuThe SNP-2’s on-screen interface displays a title bar, music servicesand recent stations or tracks. Navigate all screens using any of theTotal Control interfaces, such as a TRC-1080 or a compatible mobiledevice using the Total Control Mobile app.Title BarThe Title Bar is available on all SNP-2 screens and displays the Dateand Time, Title Name and Now Playing metadata. ●The Date and Time are automatically updated via theinternet.●The Title Name may differ based on how it was programmedby your URC Certified Custom Professional.●The Now Playing section of the Title bar displays informationfor the current audio selection. Music Services RibbonSelect one of the music services using the remote’s Left/Rightnavigation arrows to scroll. Then press the Select button to choose aservice. Quick Selection ListWhen selected, each music service lists its recently played stationsand tracks.  This provides instant access to your common stations.After selecting a service, press the Down arrow to choose from therecent list, then Select to choose a recently played item.Title BarMusic Services RibbonQuick Selection ListDate and Time Now PlayingTitle name
Music ServiceThe Music Service options will vary per service and provide specificcategories for you to browse. However, navigation with thedirectional arrows remains the same.Music Service OptionsUse the Left/Right and Up/Down navigation buttons to move to thenext icon.  Pressing the CH+/CH- buttons will quickly scrollthrough a list a page at a time. Pressing and holding the navigationbuttons will continously cycle to the next item.Alpha IndexSome screens display an alphabetical index so you can quicklysearch your music library. When available, the Alpha Index searchdisplays for 2 seconds. Simply press the Right navigation arrow tomove to the index, then press the Up or Down arrows to select aletter. These buttons will vary based on eachmusic service however navigation with the directional arrowsremains the same.Song InformationThis area displays the current song, album, artist, song duration, andalbum art, when available from the music provider. Transport ButtonsThe buttons within the Transport area will vary for each musicservice. Normally, the play, pause, or stop button (varies per music service)is always the first highlighted button for quick control.  Use the Left/Right navigation buttons to move to the next icon.Pressing and holding the Left/Right buttons will continously cycleto the next item, one item at a time. Pressing the Ch+/Ch- buttonswill quickly scroll through a list a page at a time.Options BarThe Options bar will also vary per music service. To select an iconwithin the Options bar, first navigate to the Menu button then pressUp. Press the Select button to choose an option. Pressing the Menubutton will return you to the previous menu. You can sign in or register to usestreaming services such as vTuner, SiriusXM, Rhapsody, andPandora.  You can also access and play your stored audio using MyMusic and Windows Media Player. Save your favorite radio stationsor songs to quickly access them from the Favorites icon on the mainmenu. My MusicAccess up to 100,000 songs including iTunes shared folders and allcompatible music found on network attached storage devices (PC orMac). A username andpassword may be necessary to access a shared drive.

The audio settings will NOT be available, if yourcustom professional has configured the SNP-2 to stream its music tothe Total Control system and a DMS unit. However, the audiosettings will be available, if the SNP-2 is setup as a standalonemusic source. (See page 7 for Standalone operation.)The SNP-2 default audio output is set to a bit rate of 16 bit/44.1K.When ONLY S/PDIF or Analog Audio is set to ON, the audio outputis played at a bit rate of 24 bit/192K.● Streaming Output Set the Streaming Output to ON in order to stream music toDMS units connected to the Total Control system.  WhenStreaming Output is turned OFF, playback is limited to hdmi,analog and coaxial outputs ONLY. ● Audio FadeWhen Audio Fade is set to ON the music will fade out, thenin, when changing between music sources. ● HDMI Audio OutputTurn ON the HDMI Audio Output to send digital audio to anHDMI device like a television or an audio receiver.● S/PDIF or Analog Audio OutputThe S/PDIF (Coaxial digital) or Analog Audio Output optionshould be set based upon the audio connection used  for theSNP-2. Select Go Back to return to the previous screen.

Page 25SNP-2 STREAMING NETWORK PLAYERNetwork Properties and SetupSetup the SNP-2 with either a DHCP or Static IP address and viewit’s network information.● Set SNP-2 to DHCP (Default)Setting to DHCP will automatically communicate to thesystem’s router to be assigned an IP address.● Set SNP-2 to Static IPWhen Static IP is selected, an IP address must be manuallyentered, as well as the information for the subnet mask,default gateway and DNS server. ● View Network InformationProvides a listing of the SNP-2’s current IP address, subnetmask, default gateway and DNS server.Select Done to save your settings.Select Go Back to return to the previous screen.
