Congratulations on your purchase of this vehicle security system. In learning to
operate your security system, please become familiar with the following three prin-
cipal components: the Remote Transmitter, the Red LED Status Indicator Light,
and the Valet/Override Switch,
The Remote Transmitter: Each security system comes with two preelearned
transmitters, but can learn up to 4 different transmitters. Every transmitter has its own
unique, invisible oode. Thus, no other transmitter is coded the same as yours. In fact,
no one, including the factory, can program another transmitter exactly like yours
because the code is built inside the transmitter‘s master microprocessor and cannot
be seen or duplicated. The transmitter has two buttons: one large button and a
smaller button. Please refer to pages ” 6-9 fortransmitter operating instructions.
The Valet/Override Swi h: This switch can be used to turn ”Off" the security
portion of the system, including the programmable Automatic Last Door Arming
feature. and enter the alarm into Valet mode. The Valet/Override Switch can also be
used in conjunction with the vehicle‘s ignition key to periorm an emergency disarm
oi the security system in the event the transmitter becomes inoperable.
The Red LED Indicator Light: The LED indicates the status of the alarm and serves
as a visual deterrent to break-ins and thefl. Refer to pages ‘12-13.
The alarm may be "Armed” by any 01 two methods. The first method involves the use
of a remote transmitterto ”Actively" arm the system. provided the ignition switch is
"otl" and the system is Lot in Valet Mode. The second method is a programmable
leature called “Last Door Arming“ in which the alarm will self or”Passiver" arm. When
the alarm enters the armed state the siren will chirp once, the parking-lights will flash
once, the door locks will lock (it connected), the starter interrupt will engage (if
connected), and the LED Status Light will begin flashing to contirm that the system
is armed. Three seconds after the siren chirps, the system will be in a fully armed
state and will trigger if an intrusion attempt is detected.
An al rm tri er con ists f tollowin :
t) The electronic siren/horn will start sounding,
2) The exterior parking—lights will flash.
An alarm trigger has a 30/60 second duration unless the system is disarmed using
a remote transmitter or the Valet lOverride switch, It all protected zones are secure
at the end of the trigger cycle, the alarm will stop and rearm automatically ready to
detect another entry attempt. If a protected zone is still open at the end of the trigger
cycle, the system will reactivate for up to 3 additional trigger cycles, After the fourth
trigger cycle the alarm will automatically rearm and bypass the open zone until that
zone is closed.
LAST noon ARMING: (aka: SELF on PASSIVE Ammo)“
Automatic "Last Door Arming“ is a programmable feature which allows the alarm
to arm itself and lockthe doors. If “On“. this convenient feature offers a high level
of security since the user does not need to remember to turn the alarm "On“each
lime the vehicle is exited. Additionally the “Last Door Arming" feature may entitle
the owner to an insurance discount.
TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONS:
The Alarm comes with two 2-button remote transmitters. Please (amiliarize your-
self with the buttons and operations 01 the transmitters which are explained in the
lollowing pages.
Last Door Arming Process:
1) The LED indicator will begin flashing rapidly when the vehicle's ignition has
been turned “Off“ and the last door closed, to confirm that the last door
arming countdown has begun.
2) 30 seconds later the alarm will arm & lock the doors (it Programed). The LED
indicator Will begin flashing slowly to confirm that the alarm is armed.
Note: The alarm can not self-arm while a protected point is open. it a vehicle door
is opened during the arming countdown, the countdown will stop and reset when
the last door is closed again.
