Exposure Information to Radio Frequency Energy Users concerned with the risk of Radio Frequency exposure may wish to limit the duration of their calls and to position the antenna as far away from the body as is practical. 5GHz WLAN operation Operation in the 5GHz band (channels 36 to 165) is restricted to indoor usage only. Modular approval This module is limited to OEM installation into fixed or mobile categorised end-products, so that a min separation distance of 20 cm between the antenna and the human body can be assured under normal operating conditions. The max allowed antenna gain to comply with the RF Exposure and radiated output power requirements is 3 dBi. In these circumstances, the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the end product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC authorization.
