SD Card Selection
If you purchase additional micro SD cards, choose
a good quality Browning, Sandisk or Kingston
branded card with o class 10 or higher rating for
best results. Your Defender camero con operate
on standard (loss 10 or higher micro SD cards
ranging from 4-32 (Hi. You (on also use higher
capacity SDXC cards ranging from 64-SIZGB.
Please see page 27 for a graph showing how many
photos, videos and timelapse segments can he
stored on SDHC or SDX( cards. Based
on your intended camera usage, this table will
help you determine what sile SD card you need
to use in your camera.
Camera Housing
Remove and Ilistnrd the small plostir retaining pin
from the table lotlring loops in the rumero mount
housing.
To remove the camera from the housing, pull up
slightly on the top of the housing. The door will
open and the camera (on be removed.

Open the battery door on the bottom of the cement
hy tutning the lock tlotkwise. Insert the 4 (R-IZ3
Lithium batteries in the camera. (lose and lotk
the battery duor.

SD Card Installation
Your micro SD card has an SD card adaptor that
will slide into any SD cord slot so you can view
images and videos on your computer.
Remove the micro SD card
from the adaptor.
Open the SD card door on the side of the Defender
camera. Insert the micro SD card into the card slot
with the logo side of the card facing the front of
the (omera. Press the (ord all the way into the
camera until you hear a 'cliclc” sound.
Camera Programming
Your Defender ramera ran he pragrammed hy the
input (antrals an the bark of the (amera, or via the
Defender smartphone app that is available for use
on Apple ms or Android devises.
Ihe manual will first rover programming the
Defender tamera using the buttons on the bark of
the (meme The last section of the manual will
concentrate on using the Browning Defender
smartphone app to (hange [amen] settings, view
live images and playbark pittures and videos
taken stored on the SD rard.

To Set the time and date: 12:22 PM
From the HOME sueen, press and release the POWER/MODE
button one. this will take you to the SH lIME MID DAIE
streen.
Press the [NIH button once. The month selettion will
begin lloshing. Ilse the UP and DOWN buttons to set the
torren month.
When finished setting the month, press the [NIH
key to ndvnnte to set the tortett dny. (ontinue through
all settings in this manner until the :nllett time
and dole oppenr.
Press the ElllElt hutton ante otter you have mode your
selection for AM/PM. this will look in your settings
Once finished, press the DOWN ARROW key to tontinne
to the next tnmero setting option.
Capture Mode OPERATION

Using the UP or DOWN arrow keys, selert the operation
mode lor your tomero. Press the ENlEll key when linished.
CAPTURE MODE OPTIONS:

during the day and night, when motion is deterted. This is
the most popular setting lor trail samero use, ll you are
new to trail romerns, this is the best setting to use.
- VIDEO MODE lhis setting will talte ND video (lips of game
during the day and night.
- llMELAPSE PllJS i’imelopse Plus mode takes pittures during
the day at pre set intervals, whirh is good for stouting a
large open field where you are not sure where game is
travelling. In addition, your tamera will also
take motian activated pictures as well during the day and
night to make sure you do not miss any game ostivity.

Smart Ill Video
Smart IR Video is a leature that will allow a daytime video
clip to keep recording as long as the ramera deterts movement
during filming. If the deer stands still in lront ol the camera
and the camera does nat detect movement, the camera will
end the video rlip.lhe maximum rerord time for a video clip
using this leature is 5 minutes,
To enable Smart Ill Video, press the ElllEll button once, the Ill)
will llash. Press the UP button once, the ill] will change to
YES. Press the [NIH button once to look your selection.
Press the DOWN arrow to proceed to the next setting.
SD Card Management
By turning the SD Card Management leature Oil, the ramera
will erase the oldest pirtures or videos on the SD lard when
the SD card becomes lull, This allows your ramera to
tontinue taking pictures il you cant get to the lield to swap
out SD cards
If the SD (ard Management leature is turned all, when your
SD card fills up, the tomera will not record any additional
pictures or videos when triggered until you change out the SD
card or delete the images
Press the DOVill arrow to proreed to the next setting.
Delete All
By selerting DELETE All, all oi the images on your SD card
are erased. This lunttion also relorrnats your SD card. It is
a good idea to use the DELETE All lunttion and reformat
your SD :ard eath time you install it in the ramera for user

The software upgrade funrtion allows you to upgrade your
software. If a software upgrade is available for your camera,
