Please read these instructions carefully before using this 
product, and save this manual for future use.
Precautions
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or product damage,
pDo not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing.
pDo not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on this unit.
pUse only the recommended accessories.
pDo not remove covers.
pDo not repair this unit by yourself. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
DC cable
pThe socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily 
accessible.
pDo not use any other DC cables except the supplied one.
Interface cable
Connect the interface cable only when the server to be connected to this unit is turned 
off.
pUse a Mini SAS 4x (SFF8088 26-CKT External Universal Key) cable for an external 
connection with the SAS interface port.
pUse shielded LAN cable (straight connection) of Category 7 (CAT7) with the iSCSI 
interface port.
pUse a multi-mode fiber optic cable that supports OM3 and has LC connectors with 
the FC interface port.
pUse shielded LAN cable (straight connection) of Category 5 (CAT5) or higher with an 
LAN port.
pUse a LAN cable shorter than 1.5 m (straight connection) as a I/O cable.
Small object
pKeep the screw out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
pProduct Identification Marking is located on the back of the unit.
Unit
pThis unit utilizes a laser. Use of controls or adjustments or performance of 
procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation 
exposure.
pThis unit may receive radio interference caused by mobile telephones during use. If 
such interference occurs, please increase separation between this unit and the 
mobile telephone.
pBe sure to use the mounting brackets to secure the unit to the 19-inch rack.
pThe unit is in the standby condition when the external power supply is connected. 
The primary circuit is always “live” as long as the external power supply is on.
pDo not place sources of naked flames, such as lighted candles, on this unit.
Placement

pDo not install or place this unit in a bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another confined 
space. Ensure this unit is well ventilated.
pDo not obstruct this unit’s ventilation openings with newspapers, tablecloths, 
curtains, and similar items.

Press to switch the unit from on to standby mode or vice versa. In standby mode, the 
unit is still consuming a small amount of power.
