Integrator’s Guide
■ Notice to Integrators:
The UMW190 has been evaluated and granted approval as a modular device
for mobile applications under the FCC rules. Accordingly the USB modem
can be integrated into a host device without additional regulatory evaluation
provided the following conditions are met. If the final configuration does not
satisfy this list then additional FCC approval must be considered.
If you are using the UMW190 with FCC ID: PP4PX-5000 as a module, you must:
a) At least a 20 cm separation distance between the antenna and the
user’s body must be maintained at all times.
b) In order to comply with the FCC/IC regulations limiting both
maximum RF output power, and human exposure to RF
radiations, the maximum external antenna gain must not exceed
9.33 dBi in the cellular band and 3.36 dBi in the PCS band.
c) This device must not be collocated or operate in conjunction with
any other antenna or transmitters.
d) The end product in which the modem is integrated must have a
label containing the following information on the outside of the
product: This device contains FCC ID: PP4PX-5000
e) A user manual with the end product must clearly indicate the
operating requirements and conditions that must be observed to
ensure compliance with current FCC / IC RF exposure guidelines.
This equipment has been tested to, and found to be within the acceptable limits for
Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the
following two conditions:
1. This device may not cause harmful interference.
2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that
may cause undesired operation.
Any changes or modification not expressly approved by the party responsible for
compliance could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment.
