Intended utilisation The appliance is suitable for the dry sanding and buffing of wood, metal and paint. Any other uses, and modifications to the appliance, are deemed to be improper usage and may result in serious physical injury. Different uses of the device give rise to different vibration levels and in many cases they may exceed the values given in these instructions. It is easy to underestimate the vibration load if the electrical power tool is used regularly in particular circumstances. Note: If you wish to make an accurate assessment of the vibration loads experienced during a particular period of working, you should also take into account the intervening periods of time when the device is switched off or is running but is not actually in use. Workplace safety a) Keep your working area clean and well lit. Untidy or poorly lit working areas can lead to accidents. b) Do not work with the device in potentially explosive environments in which there are inflammable liquids, gases or dusts. Electrical power tools create sparks, which can ignite dusts or fumes. c) Keep children and other people away while you are operating the electrical tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the device. 2. Electrical safety To avoid danger to life from electric shock: a) The mains plug on the device must match the mains socket. The plug must not be modified in any way. Do not use an adapter plug with devices fitted with a protective earth. Unmodified plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of electric shock. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed. c) Keep the device away from rain or moisture. Water entering an electrical device increases the risk of electric shock. d) Do not use the mains lead for any purpose for which it was not intended, e.g. to carry the device, to hang up the device or to pull the mains plug out of the mains socket. Keep the mains lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the device. Damaged or tangled mains leads increase the risk of electric shock. e) When working outdoors with an electrical power tool always use extension cables that are also approved for use outdoors. The use of an extension cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock. f) Use a residual current device (RCD) for protection if operating the electrical power tool in a moist environment is unavoidable. The use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock. 3. Personal safety a) Remain alert at all times, watch what you are doing and always proceed with caution. Do not use the device if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. One moment of carelessness when using the device can lead to serious injury. b) Wear personal protective equipment and always wear safety glasses. The wearing of personal protective equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets or ear protectors, appropriate to the type of electrical power tool used and work undertaken, reduces the risk of injury. c) Avoid unintentional operation of the device. Check that the electrical pow8 GB/IE er tool is switched off before you connect it to the mains, pick it up or carry it. Accidents can happen if you carry the device with your finger on the ON / OFF switch or with the device switched on. d) Remove any setting tools or spanners before you switch the device on. A tool or spanner left attached to a rotating part of a device can lead to injury. e) Avoid placing your body in an unnatural position. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. By doing this you will be in a better position to control the device in unforeseen circumstances. f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves clear of moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can become trapped in moving parts. g) If vacuum dust extraction and collection devices are fitted do not forget to check that they are properly connected and correctly used. The use of these devices reduces the hazard presented by dust. 4. Careful handling and use of electrical power tools a) Do not overload the device. Always use an electrical power tool that is intended for the task you are undertaking. By using the right electrical power tool for the job you will work more safely and achieve a better result. b) Do not use an electrical power tool if its switch is defective. An electrical power tool that can no longer be switched on and off is dangerous and must be repaired. c) Pull the mains plug out of the socket before you make any adjustments to the device, change accessories or when the device is put away. This precaution is intended to prevent you from unintentionally starting the device. d) When not in use always ensure that electrical power tools are kept out of reach of children. Safety advice relating specifically to random orbital sanders When working in outside areas, protect yourself against leakage current by fitting an FI protection switch with a max. activation rating of 30 mA. Use exclusively an extension cable that is certified for use outdoors Secure the workpiece firmly. Use clamps or a vice to firmly hold the workpiece. This results in a safer grip than with your hand. Under no circumstances should you place your hands next to or in front of the appliance or on the area to be worked, you could be seriously injured if you slip or stumble. In event of danger, immediately remove the power plug from the socket. Always run the power cable away from the appliance to the rear. Ensure that nobody is endangered by flying sparks. Remove combustible materials from the immediate vicinity. Flying sparks are produced when metals are ground. CAUTION! DANGER OF FIRE! Ensure that the material being ground and the grinder itself do not overheat. Always empty the dust container before taking a break from work. Grinding dust in the dust sack, microfilter, paper sack (or in the filter sack or filter of the vacuum cleaner) can ignite automatically under unfavour-able conditions such as flying sparks when metal is being ground. There is a par-ticular hazard if the grinding dust is mixed with paint or polyurethane residues or other chemical substances and the material being ground is hot after being worked on for a prolonged period. WARNING! TOXIC VAPOURS! The working of materials that can produce harmful / toxic dusts presents a health risk for the operator and for people located in the close vicinity. Wear safety glasses and a dust protection mask! When working for extended periods on wood and, in particular, materials that produce dusts that are hazardous to health, connect the appliance to an appropriate external suction device. Provide for sufficient ventilation when working plastics, varnishes and paints. Do not soak materials or surfaces to be worked with liquids containing solvents. The electric tool must only be used for dry grinding. The penetration of water into the electric device increases the risk of an electric shock. Avoid sanding lead-based paints or other materials that are hazardous to health. Material containing asbestos may not be worked. Asbestos is considered to be a carcinogen. GB/IE 9 General safety advice for electrical power tools / Before use Avoid contact with the moving sand ing sheet. Use the appliance only with a sanding sheet in place. Never use the appliance for purposes other than those intended and only with original components / accessories. Introduce the appliance to the work piece with it switched on. On task completion, lift the appliance from the work piece and then switch it off. Permit the switched off appliance to come to a complete standstill before putting it down. The appliance must always be kept clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Keep your workplace clean. Material mixtures are particularly dangerous. Light metal dust can burn or explode. Do not use the electric tool with a damaged lead. Do not touch the damaged lead and remove the mains plug if the lead becomes damaged while you are work-ing with the device. Damaged leads increase the risk of an electric shock. Original accessories / tools Use only the accessories detailed in the operating instructions. The use of inserted tools or accessories other than those recommended in the operating instructions could lead to you suffering an injury. Before use Selecting the Grinding Disc Metal Removal and Surface: The rate of metal removal and the surface quality are determined by the grain size of the grinding disc. lease note that corresponding grinding discs with different grain sizes should be used for processing different materials. Changing sanding sheets WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Before carrying out work on the appliance, always remove the plug from the power socket. The rotary sander is fitted with a velcro rapid attachment, making possible a quick and easy exchange of sanding sheets. Lift the grinding disc 5 at the side and pull it off from the backing pad 4 in order to remove it. Note: Before securing a new sanding sheet 5 , remove all dust and dirt from the sander plate 4 . Ensure that the openings in the sanding sheet 5 concur with the boreholes of the sanding plate 4 . Dust / Swarf Removal by Suction Please note the “Safety instructions” section. Removal by Suction with Dust Collector: Push the dust collector 3 completely onto the device. In order to empty the dust collector 3 pull it off the device. Note: Empty the dust collector 3 in good time and regularly in order to ensure the optimum removal of dust by suction. External Exhaust Suction (see Illustration A): Connection: Push the adapter for external exhaust suction 7 on to the exhaust nozzle 6 and turn it clockwise to fix it in place. If necessary, use the reducing piece 8 by pushing it into the adapter for external exhaust suction 7 . Push the hose of an approved suction device (e.g. a workshop vacuum cleaner) on to the adapter for external exhaust suction 7 , using the reducing piece if necessary 8 . Removal: Pull the hose of the suction device off the adapter for external exhaust suc-tion 7 . Turn the adapter for external exhaust suction 7 in an anticlockwise direction and pull it off with the reducing piece 8 if necessary. 10 GB/IE Commissioning / Working … / Maintenance …/ Service centre / Warranty Commissioning Switching on and off You should not use a grinding disc that has been used for working metal for other materials. Note! Always switch the rotary sander on before applying it to the material to be worked, then make contact with it. When operating the device you can select between intermittent or continuous operation mode Maintenance and Cleaning WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Before carrying out work on the appliance, always remove the plug from the power socket. Switching on continuous operation: Press the ON / OFF switch 1 , keep it pressed down and press the locking button 2 . The rotary sander is maintenance free. Clean the appliance regularly, preferably directly on completion of the task. Use a dry cloth to clean the device. Under no circumstances should you use petrol, solvent or cleaners which attack plastic. Keep the ventilation openings clear at all times. Remove dust clinging to the sander with a brush. Switching off after sustained operation: 1 and then release it. To switch on intermittent operation mode: Press the ON / OFF switch 1 . To switch off intermittent operation mode: Release the ON / OFF switch 1 . Press the ON / OFF switch Working instructions Wait until the electric tool has stopped moving before you put it down. Grinding Surfaces Turn the electric tool on, place the entire grinding surface on the substrate that is to be worked on and move it with moderate pressure across the workpiece (see Illustration B, C, D). Note: The rate of metal removal and the grinding pattern are essentially determined by the grinding disc that has been selected and the grinding pressure. Only grind-ing discs that are in perfect condition will provide good grinding performance. Please ensure that the grinding pressure is even. An excessive increase in the grinding pressure leads not only to a higher rate of metal removal, but also greater wear and tear on the grinding disc. Service centre WARNING! Have your device repaired only by qualified specialist personnel using original manufacturer parts only. This will ensure that your device remains safe to use. WARNING! If the plug or mains lead needs to be replaced, always have the replacement carried out by the manufacturer or its service centre. This will ensure that your device remains safe to use. Warranty This appliance is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase. It has been carefully produced and meti-culously checked before delivery. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase. Contact your service centre by telephone in case of questions pertaining to the warranty. Your goods can be transmitted free of cost only in this manner. This warranty applies only to the initial purchaser and is non-transferable. Ledningen skal holdes på afstand varme, olie, skarpe kanter eller dele af apparatet der er i bevægelse. Beskadigede eller forsnoede ledninger forhøjer risikoen for elektrisk stød. Til arbejde med elektriske redskaber under åben himmel, skal der anvendes forlængerledninger der også er godkendt til udendørs anvendelse. Anvendelsen af en sådan ledning nedsætter risikoen for elektrisk stød. Hvis det ikke er til at undgå at elektrisk værktøj skal bruges i fugtige omgivelser, skal der anvendes en fejlstrømskontakt. En sådan forringer risikoen for elektrisk stød. c) Undgå utilsigtet igangsætning. Der skal drages omsorg for at det elektriske redskab er slået fra før det bliver forbundet med elektricitetsforsyningen, når det tages op eller bliver båret. Hvis man har en finger på afbryderen eller apparatet er slået til medens det bliver båret, kan dette have ulykker til følge. d) Indstillingsredskaber eller skruenøgler skal fjernes før apparatet bliver startet. Et stykke værktøj eller en nøgle der sidder i en bevægelig del af apparatet, kan afstedkomme kvæstelser. e) Undgå at indtage anormal kropsholdning. De skal sørge for at De står sikkert og hele tiden er i balance. På den måde kan apparatet bedre kontrolleres i uventede situationer. f) Ifør Dem egnet beklædning. Den må ikke være vid, og smykker skal lægges væk. Hår, beklædningsdele og handsker skal holdes borte fra bevægelige dele. Hvis De har langt hår, bør De bruge et hårnet. Løst siddende beklædning, smykker eller hår kan blive grebet af dele der bevæger sig. g) Hvis der monteres opsugnings- og opfangsanordninger, skal disse være sluttet til og anvendes korrekt. Anvendelse af den slags anordninger nedsætter faremomenterne som følge af støv. 3. Personlig sikkerhed a) Bevar hele tiden opmærksomheden, pas på hvad De foretage Dem og gå til værks med det elektriske værktøj med fornuften i behold. Undlad at bruge apparatet hvis De er træt eller under indflydelse af euforiserende stoffer, alkohol eller medikamenter. Et øjebliks uopmærksomhed under benyttelse af apparatet kan føre til alvorlige kvæstelser. b) Ifør Dem personligt sikkerhedsudstyr, og bær altid sikkerhedsbriller. Personligt sikkerhedsudstyr, som f.eks. støvmaske, skridsikkert fodtøj, sikkerhedshjelm eller høreværn, alt efter det elektriske redskabs art og anvendelse, nedsætter risikoen for tilskadekomst. 16 DK 4. Omhu i omgangen med og anvendelsen af elektriske redskaber a) Undgå at overbelaste apparatet. Anvend det elektriske redskab der er bestemt til Deres arbejde. Med det passende elektriske værktøj er det bedre og mere sikkert at arbejde i det angivne effektområde. b) Tag ikke elektriske redskaber i brug hvor kontakten er defekt. Et elektrisk apparat der ikke kan tændes eller slukkes, er farligt og skal repareres. c) Stikket skal være trukket ud af stikdåsen før der foretages indstillinger på apparatet, skiftes tilbehørsdele eller Generelle sikkerhedsinstrukser for elektrisk værktøj apparatet lægges væk. Disse sikkerhedstiltag forhindrer utilsigtet igangsætning af apparatet. d) Elektriske redskaber der ikke er i brug, skal opbevares uden for børns rækkevidde. Lad ikke personer benyttet apparatet hvis de ikke er fortrolig med det eller ikke har læst disse anvisninger. Elektrisk værktøj er farligt hvis det benyttes af uerfarne personer. e) Apparatet skal behandles med omhu. Det skal kontrolleres om bevægelige dele af apparatet fungerer fejlfrit og ikke er fastklemt, om noget dele er knækket eller beskadiget så apparatets funktion er forstyrret. Beskadigede dele skal repareres før apparatet tages i brug. Mange uheld skyldes dårligt vedligeholdte elektriske apparater. f) Skærende værktøjer skal holdes skarpe og rene. Ordentligt vedligeholdte skæreredskaber med skarpe ægge klemmer sig ikke så ofte fast og er lettere at føre. g) Redskabet, tilbehør, udskiftelige dele osv. skal anvendes i overensstemmelse med disse anvisninger og sådan som det er foreskrevet for denne særlige type apparat. Her skal der også tages hensyn til arbejdsbetingelserne og den opgave der skal udføres. Anvendelse af elektriske redskaber til andre formål end de angivne kan føre til farlige situationer. Specielle sikkerhedsinstrukser for ekscentersliberen Når du arbejder udendørs, skal du tilslutte værktøjet via et fejlstrøms- (FI) relæ med en udløsestrøm på maks. 30 mA. Brug kun en forlængerledning, der er godkendt til udendørs brug. Husk at sikre emnet. Brug fastspændingsanordninger / skruestik til at fastspænde emnet. På denne måde holdes det sikrere, end hvis du holder det i hånden. Støt under ingen omstændigheder med hænderne ved siden af eller for- an værktøjet og den flade, der skal bearbejdes, da der er fare for personskade, hvis værktøjet skrider. I tilfælde af fare skal du straks trække stikket ud af stikkontakten. Før altid netledningen bagud fra værktøjet. Der er risiko for personskader som følge af gnistregn. Så vær forsigtig. Brændbare materialer skal fjernes fra de nærliggende omgivelser. Gnistregn opstå bl.a. når man sliber metalgenstande. FORSIGTIG! BRANDFARE! Overophedning af slibeemnet og af selve sliberen skal undgås. Støvbeholderen skal altid tømmes forud for pauser i arbejdet. Slibestøv i støvposen, mikrofiltret, papirpose (eller i tilterposen hhv. i støvsugerfiltret) kan gå i selvantændelse under visse betingelser, f.eks. gnistregn ved slibning af metalgenstande. Der er særlig risiko til stede hvis slibestøvet er blandet med lak-, polyurethanrester eller andre kemiske stoffer, og slibeemnet er stærkt ophedet efter længere tids behandling. ADVARSEL! GIFTIGE DAMPE! Bearbejdning af skadeligt / giftigt støv udgør en sundhedsfare for operatøren eller personer i nærheden. Brug beskyttelsesbriller og støvmaske! Tilslut værktøjet til en egnet, ekstern støvudsugningsanordning, når du i længere tid bearbejder træ og især materialer, hvor der dannes sundhedsskadeligt støv. Ved bearbejdning af plast, maling, lak osv. skal du sørge for tilstrækkelig ventilation. Væd ikke materialer eller flader, der skal bearbejdes, med væsker der indeholder opløsningsmidler. Den elektriske slibemaskine må kun bruges til tørslibning. Indtrængende vand i et elektrisk redskab medfører øget risisko for et elektrisk stød. Undgå at slibe blyholdig maling eller andre sundhedsskadelige materialer. DK 17 Generelle sikkerhedsinstrukser for elektrisk værktøj / Før ibrugtagningen Asbestholdige materialer må IKKE be arbejdes. Asbest anses for kræftfremkaldende. Undgå kontakt med den roterende sliberondel. Anvend kun excentersliberen, når der er monteret en sliberondel. Anvend aldrig excentersliberen til et ikke-godkendt formål, og kun med originale dele og tilbehør. Excentersliberen skal være tændt, når du fører den hen mod emnet. Løft sliberen væk fra emnet efter bearbejdningen, og sluk derefter for den. Lad værktøjet stoppe helt, når du har slukket for det, før du lægger det til side. Excentersliberen skal altid være ren, tør og fri for olie og smørefedt. Arbejdsstedet skal holdes rent. Materialeblandinger er specielt farlige. Støv fra letmetal kan bryde i brand eller eksplodere. Elektriske redskaber må ikke benyttes hvis ledningen er beskadiget. En beskadiget ledning må ikke berøres, og stikket skal trækkes ud hvis ledningen blvier beskadiget under anvendelsen. En beskadiget ledning forøger risikoen for et elektrisk stød. Originalt tilbehør / originale ekstraenheder Anvend kun tilbehør og ekstraudstyr der er angivet i betjeningsvejledningen. Anvendelse af andre former for udstyr end det i betjeningsvejledningen anbefalede eller andet tilbehør kan være ensbetydende med øget risiko for Dem for at pådrage Dem kvæstelser. Før ibrugtagningen Valg af slibeblad Slibeeffekt og overflade: Slibeeffekten og overfladekvaliteten bliver bestemt af kornstørrelsen på slibebladet. Bemærk at der til behandling af forskellige materialer også bør anvendes forskellige slibeblade 18 DK med forskellig kornstørrelse så de passer til materialet. Skift af sliberondel ADVARSEL! FARE FOR PERSONSKADER! Før du foretager arbejde på excentersliberen, skal du altid trække netstikket ud af stikkkontakten. Excentersliberen er udstyret med et velcrosystem, så du hurtigt og let kan skifte sliberondellerne. Slibebladet 5 løftes fra siden og trækkes af slibeskiven 4 når det skal tages af. Bemærk: Før du fastgør en ny sliberondel 5 skal du fjerne støv og snavs fra slibetallerkenen 4 . Kontrollér, at hullerne i sliberondellen 5 passer med hullerne i slibetallerkenen 4 . Opsugning af støv og spåner Se nærmere herom i afsnittet med ”Sikkerhedsanvisninger”. Egenopsugning med støvopfangsanordning: Støvopfangsanordningen 3 trækkes helt ind over maskinen. Når støvfanget 3 skal rengøres, skal det trækkes af maskinen. Bemærk: Støvopfangsanordningen 3 skal rengøres jævnligt og regelmæssigt så der er sikkerhed for optimal støvopsugning. Ekstern opsugning (se illustration A): Tilslutning: Adapteren til ekstern opsugning 7 sættes på udblæsningsstudsen 6 og drejes til højre så den sætter sig fast. I givet fald anvendes reduktionstykket 8 ; det skubbes ind i adapteren til ekstern opsugning 7 . Slangen til en godkendt støvopsugningsanordning (f.eks. en værkstedsudsugning) sættes på adapteren til ekstern opsugning 7 , eventuelt ved hjælp af reduktionsstykket 8 . Før … / Ibrugtagning / Bemærkninger … / Vedligeholdelse … / Service / Garanti Adskillelse: Slangen til suganordningen tages af til ekstern opsugning 7 . Til ekstern opsugning 7 drejes mod venstre og trækkes evt. af sammen med reduktionstykket 8 . Ibrugtagning Tænd / sluk Trykket under slibningen skal være ensartet. En for stærk trykforøgelse fører ikke til noget højere slibeeffekt, men kun til øget nedslidning af slibebladet. Et slibeblad der har været brugt til metal, må ikke anvendes til andre slags materialer. Bemærk! Tænd altid excentersliberen, før den får kontakt med materialet, og før den først dereftern hen til emnet. Der kan vælges mellem momentan og varig drift. Indkobling af momentan drift: Tryk på TÆND- / SLUK-kontakten 1 . Momentan drift slås fra: Slip TÆND- / SLUK-kontakten 1 igen. Indstilling af permanent drift: Der trykkes på TÆND- / SLUK-kontakten 1 , den holdes trykket, og der trykkes på arreteringsknappen 2 . ADVARSEL! FARE FOR PERSONSKADER! Bemærkninger om anvendelsen Elektrisk håndværktøj skal være gået helt i stå før det må lægges bort. Vedligeholdelse og rengøring Service ADVARSEL! Deres apparater må kun repareres af kvalificerede fagfolk og kun med originale reservedele. På den måde er der garanti for at maskinens sikkerhed bibeholdes. ADVARSEL!
