Quick Start • Plug the USB Plug into a USB port on a computer or into a port on a USB hub connected to a computer. (Look for the USB icon.) • Connect a PASPORT sensor to the mini-DIN port on the other end of the USB Link. Note that a PASPORT sensor will connect to the USB Link in only one way. Match the groove on one side of the sensor or sensor plug with the alignment tab on the bottom lip of the USB Link • PASPORT Sensor plug OR PASPORT Sensor USB Link If you have an analog sensor with a five pin or eight pin DIN plug, or a digital sensor with a phone plug, connect the sensor to a PASPORT Analog Adapter (PS-2158) or a PASPORT Digital Adapter (PS-2159), and then connect the adapter to the USB Link. 800-772-8700 +1 916 786 3800 support@pasco.com www.pasco.com Model No.PS-2100A Introduction Introduction The PASCO PS-2100A USB Link is an interface that uses the Universal Serial Bus protocol to enable communication between PASCO sensors and a USB-compatible computer that is running PASCO’s data acquisition software*. The USB Link can be connected to and disconnected from a USB port without turning off the computer first. If the USB Link is connected to a computer that is running the software, the light emitting diode (LED) on the top of the USB Link lights up to indicate that the software detects the connection. NOTE: If the computer is on, the data acquisition software is running, the USB Link is securely connected, but the LED is not on, disconnect and then reconnect the USB Link to the USB port. The PS-2500 PASPORT Sensor Extension Cable is 2 meters long with an eight pin female DIN plug at one end and a PASPORT sensor plug at the other end. Use the cable to extend the distance that your sensor can reach. • SETUP: For information on setting up the data acquisition software and recording data, refer to the User’s Guide for the data acquisition software.
