3Wireless Rechargeable Mouse for DesktopUsing the Extension SeatAn extension seat is provided to minimize interference fromother wireless devices. This extension seat allows you toplace the receiver closer to your mouse while in use.1 Connect the extension seat to an available USB port onyour Desktop PC or Notebook. 2 Plug the receiver into the USB port labeled 'receiver'located at the top of the seat. 3 Connect the USB end of the charge cable to the portlabeled 'charge' on the extension seat.Your computer’s operating system automatically detectsthe new hardware and begins installing the appropriatedrivers.4 If applicable, follow any on-screen instructions tocomplete the driver installation.Charge portcomputerExtension seatToChargecable

See “Charging the Mouse” on page 5.Installing the Batteries1 Remove the battery cover from the bottom of the mouseby pressing the tab located on the bottom and lifting itoff.Bottom of mouse2 2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries are included. Insertthe supplied batteries, making sure that the positive (+)and negative (-) ends of each battery match the polarityindicators inside the battery housing. WARNINGS: Use ONLY heavy-duty NiMH batteries.Never use alkaline if you intend to use the rechargingfeature.Avoid mixing new and used batteries in a device.3 Slide the battery cover back into position until it “clicks”firmly into place.The optical sensor, located on the bottom of the mouse,glows red.TabBattery coverOpticalsensor

6Wireless Rechargeable Mouse for DesktopSynchronizationMake sure that your computer is turned on and hasdetected the USB receiver before you synchronize.1 Press and release the connect button on the receiver.2 Press and release the connect button located on thebottom of the mouse.The receiver’s status light flashes while it scans theidentification codes. When synchronized the status lightstops flashing. This process must be completed within afew seconds or the steps will need to be repeated.After successfully synchronizing, you are ready to usethe mouse.NOTE: You must synchronize every time you changethe batteries.ConnectbuttonConnectbutton
7Wireless Rechargeable Mouse for Desktop4th & 5th ButtonsOperating HintsFor optimal performance and RF reception:• For instances where the PC is positioned under a deskor other places that might impede wireless connectivity,use of the extension seat is recommended. (See thediagram on page 5.)• Avoid using the mouse on a metal surface. Metals, suchas iron, aluminum or copper, shield the radio frequencytransmission and may slow down the mouse’sresponse time or cause the mouse to fail temporarily.• The mouse will enter a suspend mode at the same timeyour computer does. Click any mouse button to wake it.• If your computer has a metal case that containsaluminum or magnesium, use the mouse to the side.The display panel may interfere with the radio frequencysignal if you use the mouse directly in front of thecomputer.Internet ForwardInternet Backward
8Wireless Rechargeable Mouse for Desktop• Never use the mouse on a glass or mirrored surface asthese surfaces will cause the mouse to fail temporarily.• To maximize battery life, use the mouse on a lightcolored surface. Dark surfaces cause the mouse’s lightemitter diode (LED) light to glow brighter, whichcauses the battery to discharge more rapidly.Comfortable UsageResearch suggests that physical discomfort and injury tonerves, tendons, and muscles may be related to repetitivemotion, an improperly set up work area, incorrect bodyposture, and poor work habits.To reduce the risk of injury, follow these precautions:• Stand, stretch, and move around several times everyhour.• Switch hands while performing tasks. Use shortcutkeys to avoid repetitive or awkward mouse movements.• Relax your shoulders and keep your elbows at yoursides. Adjust the keyboard’s position so that you don’thave to stretch to reach it.• Adjust your position so that you don’t have to bend yourwrists to type; avoid placing your wrists on a sharpedge. If you feel discomfort or numbness in your hands, wrists,arms, shoulders, neck, or back while typing, consult aqualified medical professional.
9Wireless Rechargeable Mouse for DesktopTroubleshootingWhat do I do if the mouse does not work?• Make sure that the polarity of the battery is correct. Thepositive (+) and negative (-) ends of the battery mustmatch the positive (+) and negative (-) connections inthe battery housing.• The battery may need recharging. See “Charging theMouse” on page 5• Check that the receiver's USB connector is firmlyattached to the USB port on your computer or to theextension seat, and that the extension seat's cable isconnected to your PC.• Make sure you have established a communication linkbetween the mouse and its receiver. See“Synchronization” on page 6.When I use the mouse, other wireless devices workmore slowly or fail temporarily – what should I do?The mouse may cause interference with any cordless,radio-based device that operates at 27 MHz, such as atelephone, baby monitor, or toy. To reduce interference,move the mouse’s receiver and the base unit of the affecteddevice as far away from each other as possible.What do I do if the response time of the mouse isslow or the mouse intermittently stops working?• Increase the distance between the mouse’s receiverand the rest of your computer equipment. Use the USBextension seat if necessary.
