TYPE RDM-28T
URD MOLE™
For Aluminum and Copper
The RDM-28T MOLE™ is available with ve or
seven outlets. The single hole outlets are the same
size as the RDM-28 series and accommodate
the same RYA-UC or RYA-UCR tap kits. The
larger two-hole outlet accommodates the 500 or
350 kcmil copper cable secondary supplied with
many subsurface transformers. These cables are
extended to a junction point where secondary
mains or services are connected. Tin-plated
copper RYA-C-2 tap kits are used to join the 500
or 350 kcmil copper secondaries to the RDM-28T
MOLE™.

MOLE™ TAP KITS
For Aluminum or Copper with
Type RDM-28 URD MOLE™
The kit consists of Universal HYLUG™, mounting
hardware and heat-shrink sleeve. The HYLUG™ is
pre-lled with PENETROX™ joint compound and
sealed. Installed with common installation tools,
three die sets install a range of 4 str.- 350 kcmil. The
heatshrink sleeve is lined with a mastic material,
providing a positive seal. Installed with standard
propane torch, or 500°F electric heat gun. Acetylene
heat is too intense and is not recommended.
TYPES RYA-UCR,
RYA-ACR
The kit consists of Universal HYLUG™, mounting
hardware and pre-lubricated forcet rubber sleeve.
The HYLUG™ is pre-lled with PENETROX™ joint
compound and sealed. Installed with common
installation tools, three die sets install a range of
4 str.- 350 MCM. The rubber sleeve has internal
sealing rings that provide a positive moisture
seal by exerting circumferential force on cable
and MOLE™ insulation. Pre-lubricating sleeve
makes installation easier. REA listed. No trimming
required.

BURNDY® U DIE KITS
The UDIEKITCU and UDIEKITAL die kit includes
15 sets of “U” dies, type U-RT and U-ART
respectively, and the PT29291 die case. These
stainless steel color coded dies are for crimping
BURNDY® YA, YS, YA-A and YS-A type HYLUGTM
color coded terminals and splices ranging from #6
AWG through 750 kcmil.
The UDIEKITCUW includes 9 sets of wide
stainless steel, color coded “U” dies are for
crimping BURNDY® long barrel YA type HYLUGTM
and YS type HYLINKTM color coded terminals and
splices ranging from #8 AWG through 4/0 AWG.
The wide “U”dies require only one crimp compared
to two crimps when using standard width dies on
long barrel YA type terminals and YS type splices
up to 4/0 AWG.
The UDIEKITHYGRD kit includes 8 die sets.
Seven dies sets are used to install the BURNDY®
HYGROUND® irreversible compression grounding
connectors, and the U2CABT die set for pre-
crimping 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" ground rods for
increased rotational resistance.
BURNDY® “U” dies are used in the Y35, Y39, Y750
series, PAT750-18V series, Y46 and PAT46-18V
(with PUDAP-1 adapter) tools.
