The original multi-watt steel fin

heater. This is a unique King de-

sign that allows you to change the

wattage of the heater by simply

disconnecting a color coded ter-

minal. But the best feature of this

unique heater is how quiet it is.

The high mass steel element

transfers heat quietly and effi-

ciently. The sleek appearance

gives the desired look of a regis-

ter grill used in central forced air

systems.

This is our most popular heater

for a single family residence or

upscale condominium. The ele-

ment has a five year warranty and

12 year history of reliability. For

Contractor shall supply and install, PAW-series wall-mounted forced-

air electric heaters, manufactured by King Electrical Mfg. Company,

of the wattage and voltage as indicated on the plans.

Ratings: Heaters shall be available in wattages of 250 to 2,250 at

120, 208, 240, or 277 volts.

Blower and Motor: A tangential cylindrical blower, delivering 65

CFM, shall be driven by a shaded pole, permanently lubricated,

C-frame type motor with impedance protection and sealed bear-

ings. Motors shall be the same voltage as the heater.

Elements: Elements assemblies shall be non-glowing design. El-

ement assemblies shall consisting of three steel sheathed heat-

ing tubes in a furnace brazed, plate finned, block design. Each

sheathed tube shall contain coiled Ni-Chrome wire, embedded in

an insulator of magnesium oxide. The element assembly shall

provide a minimum of seven (7) possible wattage configurations

available for selection during field installation. The use of exter-

nal resistors, diodes, or other weak links to obtain multiple watt-

ages will not be acceptable.

Thermal Overload: Heaters shall be equipped with thermal over-

load protection, which disconnects elements in the event normal

operating temperatures are exceeded. The thermal overload pro-

tection device shall automatically reset when normal operating

temperatures are reached or manually reset by the thermostat.

Wall Can: The wall can shall be 20 gauge electro-galvanized steel

and shall contain a minimum of three (3) knockouts through which

power leads are brought. The wall can shall have a depth gauge

indicator, and a factory installed, insulated and stranded copper

grounding wire. Minimum Clearance to Floors and Sidewalls. Zero

clearance to combustibles.

Grill: The grill shall be louvered, one piece design with rounded

edges on all four sides, with rounded corners to prevent snags

from contact with other materials. The grill shall be epoxy powder

coated in white or almond.

Approval: Heaters shall be listed and approved by Underwriters’

Laboratories or equal.
