The Corning Cable Systems OV-1000 Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)
provides testing flexibility by combining a rugged platform with field-interchangeable
multimode, single-mode and advanced testing modules. Designed for testing and
troubleshooting of LAN, Telco, CATV and FTTx networks, all OTDR modules can be used
as Continuous Wave (CW) light sources. Available as options on the mainframe are a
power meter and visual fault locator (VFL). The OV-1000 also has an internal 8 GB
flash memory that stores at least 1,500 traces and eliminates the need for a hard
drive, which can fail under extreme field conditions. For extra storage capacity, the
unit offers three USB ports for portable file transfer. The OV-1000 has the capacity to
hold up to two OTDR modules or one OTDR module and one advanced testing module
at the same time. Modules can be easily switched out in the field, without the use of
tools, in just a matter of seconds. The OV-1000has a 6.4in. color screen that is
resistant to shock, water and the most common chemicals in the field. The screen is
large enough to view both the trace and the event table simultaneously, eliminating
the need to toggle back and forth between the two. Along with offering three OTDR
test modes - Auto, Advanced and Template Trace - the OV-1000 is future-ready with
the ability to accept protocol-testing modules such as Gigabit Ethernet
characterization. You can even project the OV-1000 screen onto a projector via the
remote desktop. An optional handheld analog video probe is available and is the ideal
solution for inspecting the quality of a fiber optic connector end-face.

Corning Cable Systems offers two OTDR launch cable solutions created with
high-quality Corning fiber and cable assemblies. Used for connecting between the
OTDR and system-under-test, these launch cables can also be used on the far end of
the system-under-test as a receive fiber. The optical launch cables for OTDR are also
included.
Both options come with a wide variety of configurations depending on customer
application. The PTB is a small, portable test bag that offers a low-cost, compact
launch cable and can be placed inside most OTDR transit cases. The PTB also offers a
carabineer for attaching to an equipment rack, belt loop, bucket lift or messenger. The
second solution is a portable test fiber case (PTF), which offers a ruggedized,
easy-to-configure solution. The rugged construction allows for shipment of the launch
cable separate from the OTDR case.
Corning Cable Systems OTDR launch fiber is offered in several standard configurations
which are often stocked and offer shorter lead times. However, these items can be

The Corning Cable Systems LTK-400 Series offers a complete, cost-effective solution
for link-loss testing of both multimode and single-mode systems for those users who

The VFL-350 Visual Fault Locator is a compact pen-design fault locator used to check
single-mode and multimode optical fiber cables and components for faults, check
system polarity or to locate individual fibers in a bundle. By transmitting a bright
beam of red light into a fiber, breaks or improper terminations can be seen as a
glowing red light with 635 nm wavelength. This device fits all 2.5 mm connector
ferrules but there is an optional 1.25 mm adapter for the LC connectors. The
VFL-350 operates on two AAA batteries and emits laser light of 635 nm (LASER Class
2 in accordance with IEC 825-2) with an output power less than 1mW. The robust and
compact metal housing makes the device suitable for daily on-site use.

The full-featured inspection and multimode verification kits are for contractors and
network technicians who install and maintain multimode premises networks. Use
these kits to verify optical loss and power levels at 850 and 1300 nm, inspect fiber

The basic verification kits are great starter kits for contractors and network
technicians who install and maintain fiber links. Available in single-mode or
multimode configurations, quickly verify optical loss and power levels at 850 and
1300 nm or 1310 and 1550 nm. Add additional sources, microscopes and VFL

The FiberInspector video microscope enables inspection of end-faces on all types of
installed fiber. In a survey commissioned by Fluke Networks, end-face contamination
was found to be the leading cause of fiber failures. By inspecting end-faces before

The IDEAL #61-807 power-quality analyzer is a versatile and easy-to-use tool that
will record everything you need for energy, power and power-quality measurement.
The unit measures and analyzes power quality on all single- and 3-phase electrical
systems. Instantaneous readouts of current, voltage, power and harmonics including
tables, bar graphs and even individual waveforms make job-site data interpretation
easy. With a real-time clock and 1 MB data-logging memory, the power analyzer
stores data that can be downloaded to a personal computer for in-depth analysis
using PowerVision software.
PowerVision software provides automatic generation of useful tables and graphs. Files
are easily downloaded from the #61-807 unit. It provides multiple ways to view basic
and detailed information, allowing you to create custom graphs, charts and tables.
Compare up to 12 variables simultaneously. Easily scroll through, expand and collapse
data over time. Compare data from multiple files to show before-and-after studies.
