8.5” 158WP11822 CORD OUTLETS WP1000 SERIES GUARDIAN WEATHERPROOF RECEPTACLE COVERS SERIE WP1000 GUARDIAN CUBIERTAS DE RECEPTÁCULO PARA LA INTEMPERIE This GUARDIAN weatherproof cover can be used outdoors or in other wet locations (protects receptacles while in use for unattended applications). The cover is UL listed and meets the requirements for all outdoor low voltage landscape lighting as defined by UL 1838. It also meets UL and CSA Cold Impact Testing at -60°F (-51°C), is CSA certified, NEMA 3R rated and meets National Electrical Code requirements covered by Article 406.8(B). DISCONNECT POWER to the receptacle at the circuit breaker panel before installing. 2. If installing on an existing receptacle, remove the existing cover/gasket and discard. 3. Select the right insert for the application and press into bass. If you need to remove the knock-outs on the round insert, grab them from the back with a pliers and pry down until they break free. If using the round insert, knock out the appropriate hole size (see Knockout Removal). CORD OUTLETS 11” DUPLEX VERTICAL FOLD LINES (TYP) GFCI VERTICAL 4. The base should be installed on a smooth, flat surface. To ensure a weatherproof seal on surfaces such as brick or cedar siding, a 1/4” bead of nonhardening silicon caulk should be placed between the gasket and mounting surface. 5. Mount the base/insert assembly and the receptacle(s) to the junction box using two of the long screws provided. To ensure weatherproof protection, the hinges must be located at the top with the cord on the bottom. If mounting to an outdoor junction box or FS box, use the remaining long screws to further secure the base/insert assembly to the junction box, using the existing holes. For specially designed boxes, mounting holes should be drilled to line up with the holes in the box. FOR BEST PROTECTION FROM RAIN OR HUMIDITY, BE SURE TO ROUTE THE CORDS THROUGH THE CORD KNOCKOUTS IN THE COVER AND PRESS THE COVER FIRMLY UNTIL IT SNAPS CLOSED OVER THE HASP. DO NOT USE IF INCORRECT CORD KNOCKOUTS ARE REMOVED. CAUTION: DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DEVICE AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER PANEL BEFORE INSTALLING THIS RECEPTACLE COVER. SALIDAS DE CABLE 2. Si va a instalar el inserto redondo, extraiga la tapa del orificio del tamaño correcto (véase Extracción de tapa de cables). VERTICAL DÚPLEX VERTICAL GFCI 4. La base se debe situar en una superficie plana y nivelada. Para garantizar la selladura a prueba de intemperie sobre superficies como el ladrillo o los rodapiés de madera, es necesario colocar un cordón de 1/4” pulg de pasta de silicona no endurecedora entre la junta y la superficie de montaje. 5. Monte el conjunto de base/inserto y uno o varios receptáculos dentro de la caja de empalmes utilizando los dos tornillos largos suministrados. Para garantizar la selladura a prueba de intemperie, los goznes deben estar situados hacia arriba mientras que el cable debe estar debajo. Install the remaining short screws into the receptacle as required 8. To open, bend back the plastic latch while lifting the cover. A hasp is provided for padlocking (see right). 1.
