No known adverse effects on unbroken skin. Granulomas reported when talc was introduced into open wounds Inhalation: Primary route of entry. Acute accidental exposure symptoms non specific, similar to inhalation of any dust-coughing, wheezing, difficult breathing or upper respiratory tract irritation. Chronic exposure may produce a realativly mild pnuemoconiosis over 10-40 years exposure close to the TWA. Smoking and cocomitant disease might impose additional pulmanary burden. Individuals with pulmonary disease should not be assigned to a heavy talc environment. Crystaline silicate is listed by IARC as probably carcinogenic to humans by inhalation with chronic exposure above the TLV. Ingestion- No adverse effects expected SECTION 4 — FIRST AID MEASURES Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing. Flush affected area with water for 15 minutes. Wash affected area with mild soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Eye Contact Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses (if easy to do) and continue flushing for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists. Inhalation Remove person to fresh air.
