Too low belt tension can result in drive belt breakage
The drive belt can slip on the motor shaft so that the belt breaks.
This may be caused by too low belt tension. A new stronger spring, article number 80 772 54, has
been producedto ensure the correct belt tension.
Spring, article number 80 772 54, for the belt tensioner replaces the current spring supplied with the
motor.
The new spring was introduced into production after week 40, 2004.
A service kit, article number 88 012 67, has been produced to rectify older machines.

Before fitting the new the belt, it is important that the grooves on the motor axle are clean.
The new belt tensioner spring must be used.
• Remove the old belt and carefully clean the grooves on the motor shaft.
• Replace the old spring with the new article number 80 772 54.
• Clean the cylinder by the belt’s contact surface with a cloth.
• Fit the new belt article number 80 657 10.
