You can check it by looking at the top right corner. It will say what email you're logged into. If you need to change it simply click on the email, and go to account settings and log into the desired account. Make an SQL Server Delete… 0% 1) Go to your Azure portal Dashboard. When you create anything it will show up under resources. Note that Azure changes frequently and regularly so these instruction may become outdated at any time. 2) Whenever, you want to create a new resource click the green plus sign towards the top left of the page. To find what you need you have two options, you can search what you need or you can click through the categories. 3) Go and create an SQL logical server. 4) Fill in the form REMEMBER WHAT YOU PUT UNDER SERVER ADMIN LOGIN AND PASSWORD. They will be very important, they will be how you log into your server later. Again WRITE THEM DOWN. 5) For ease of access make sure you have pin to dashboard clicked. Hit that create button and let it build out. (This can take a minute or two, be cool) 6) Not to harp on this, but MAKE SURE YOU STILL REMEMBER YOUR ADMIN LOGIN AND PASSWORD. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE PROGRESS WITHOUT THEM. 7) Go look at the caps in step 6 and 4, good grief, I sound like my dad 3/1/2018, 1:11 PM Azure Breakout 2.0 on Teaching To Do | Trello 2 of 3 https://trello.com/c/jdeioRcc/139-azure-breakout-20 Visual Studio Magic Delete… 0% 0) Again I'm assuming you've already connected to a DB and got VS up to date, if no refer to the first check list. 1) Open up the project you wish to upload in Visual Studio 2) Right click on the project's namespace and select Publish... 3) A pop up should appear, under publish target select Microsoft Azure Web App Service. 4) On the next Pop Up under Web App Service select the new button. 5) Fill in the form, anything you don't have select new... and VS will lead you through building it. Don't hit create just yet, there's one more step. 6) Select the services tab. In the top box, if you have a database, a DB resource should show up. Click the plus sign and it should show up in the bottom box. 7) Moment of truth! Hit the create button. If done successfully your web APP should show up in your browser. Note that URL, that will be where your Web APP lives on world wide web. 8) If everything has been done correctly, your project should be up and running on the cloooooud. Use server explorer to check where .Net sees your DB and poke around on the aforementioned URL to make sure your site is up and running. Most importantly, go and check your database pointing views and try to create a new row just to be sure all the parts are clicking properly. Connection String Delete… 0% Now it's time to add in our connection string, connection strings are like file paths but for databases,they tell .Net where to go to pull in data, now normally for a local DB Entity will handle for us, for talking to Azure there's several extra wrinkles mostly security that push us to change our connection string 1) Go to your Azure Portal Dash board 2) Click on your DB 3) Under your Database overview, select connection string 4) copy the string under ADO.Net 5) In visual studio go to your web config file 5) Find yourtag in web.config 6) Save the connection string that's already there, just in case things go awry. 7) under the add tag in the connection string attribute, paste in your connection string from the azure portal 8) Note that in the string both user id and password are placeholders, put in your login info here 9) Run your project Does it work?
