New D.O.E. Mandated Energy Usage
Ratings For Washers
Mandated Change In Energy Consumption.
DOE (Department of Energy) Requirements.
Beginning January 1, 2007, the DOE has mandated all Top Load Washers & Laundry Centers
(w/top load washer) meet new energy usage ratings. All models will have a new 75/25
water valve and an ATC (Automatic Temperature Control). A 75/25 water valve means
when the water valve is energized in the warm wash temperature setting, the incoming
mixture of water will be 75% cold and 25% hot.
The following chart shows the regulated hot and warm wash water temperatures:
Note: Cold water fills are not regulated (NR). Regulated hot water temperatures
differ depending on the models because of different tub sizes and out
boarded temperature switches used in the configuration of the required
energy factor.
