1 Introduction
This document lists all instruments/modules that Chromeleon 7 currently supports. The following
information is included:
Manufacturer – System/Family: Lists the manufacturer and the name of the instrument system
or family.
Type: Shows the type of module (e.g. Pump, Photodiode Array Detector).
Model: Provides the model number of the instrument or module.
Firmware: Displays the required firmware version (depending on module, check Chromeleon
Online Help for additional information).
For Thermo Scientific equipment; generally the firmware version is shipped on the
installation media with the current Chromeleon version listed.
For third party equipment; the firmware listed is usually the version used to test the driver
and as such is considered the minimum firmware requirement for Chromeleon. However,
this does not necessarily imply that earlier versions of firmware are incompatible but that
some limitations in functionality may be observed when using older firmware. In general,
newer firmware versions are expected to work.
Interface Type: Describes the type of connection used between the instrument and the PC.
Instrument Class: Displays the License Class required to control the instrument in Chromeleon 7.
Options Required: Displays additional licenses required to fully control the instrument and shows
whether an analog-digital data converter (e.g., UCI, A2D) is required for data acquisition
(important for third-party detectors).

device, but the recommended version adds significantly better support).

*Because the incremental features of the Enterprise edition are not relevant to Chromeleon, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
does not expect any problems to occur when using Chromeleon with Windows Enterprise versions.
Note: Chromeleon 7 has not been formally validated with Windows Vista. However, it is expected
that Windows Vista (32 bit, SP1 or SP2, Business, Ultimate or Enterprise*) would work for most
instruments.
Note: Changes to this document since the previous release of Chromeleon 7 are highlighted in
yellow.
