Woodman White & Associates
2018 Scholarship
Woodman White & Associates is a Public Accounting firm in Lethbridge, Alberta that is
committed to promoting and encouraging today’s students to pursue continuing education in the
field of Business Management with an emphasis in the field of Accounting. The scholarship is
intended to assist and encourage Southern Alberta students in their pursuit of this goal.
Award Value
One award of $3,000.*

payment is made over 3 years and is dependent on applicant meeting yearly qualifications.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must:
Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident and an Alberta resident (applicant’s parents
must have resided in Alberta between July 1st, 2017 and June 30th, 2018.)
Be a Grade 12 student who will have completed the requirements to graduate from either,
Immanuel Christian, Calvin Christian, Coaldale Christian, or from a High School in the
Horizon, Lethbridge, Kainai, Livingstone, Holy Spirit, or Westwind School Division, or an
accredited high school in the County of Lethbridge or County of Vulcan division by June
30th, 2018.
Be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary program in Canada, pursing a degree in
Accounting, Commerce or Business Management.
Submit a completed application form to Woodman White & Associates no later than July
1st, 2018.
Selection Criteria
One Student will be selected from all applicants to receive the award. The selection will be based
on a combination of the following:
Combined average final mark of English 30-1 or 30-2 and Math 30-1 or 30-2. (Preference
will be given to those completing 30-1 courses).
Submission of an essay (250 words maximum) responding to the question “
Why ethics,
honesty and integrity are essential characteristics of an Accountant”.
Completion of any BIT Financial Management Courses/Projects or Practicums taken
between Grades 10 and 12.
Selection Process
The selection committee is comprised of Partners and employees of Woodman White &
Associates. Decision of the selection committee is final. The winning applicant will be notified by
Woodman White & Associates. The winning applicant must agree to release his or her name,
school and home-town to publicly promote the Scholarship Award.
Awarding of the Scholarship
The Scholarship will be awarded in three (3) annual payments, made directly to the recipient as
follows:
1. $500 awarded on or before September 15th, of year 1 of post-secondary and once the
recipient meets the following conditions:
a. Provides proof of enrolment in an accredited post-secondary institution with
either a declared intent or future intent of pursuing the field of Business
Management.
b. Failure to meet the above requirements will result in forfeiture of any remaining
future award payments.
2. $1000 awarded on or before September 15th, of year 2 of post-secondary and once the
recipient meets the following conditions:
a. Have completed first year of post-secondary education and provides proof of
acceptance and enrolment into year 2 of further studies.
b. Must have completed at least 4 management or pre-management courses
during the 1st year of post-secondary education and obtained an average GPA of
3.5 or better in those courses. If recipient has taken more than 4 management or
pre-management courses the average mark of the top 4 courses will be considered.
c. Submit transcript of 1st year studies to Woodman White & Associates.
d. Failure to meet the above requirements will result in forfeiture of the remaining
future award payment.
3. $1500 awarded on or before September 15th, of year 3 of post-secondary and once the
recipient meets the following conditions:
a. Have completed year 2 of post-secondary studies with a total average GPA of 3.5
(excluding elective courses) or better.
b. Have been accepted into the Faculty of Management with a declared major in
Accounting, of a 4 year post-secondary institution.
c. Submit transcript of 2nd year studies to Woodman White & Associates.

Part 3: Essay Question
In 250 words or less, in font no smaller than 10, please answer the following question:
“Why are ethics, honesty and integrity essential characteristics for an Accountant?”
Part 4: Submission of Application
Candidate must submit copy of High School Transcript’s showing Math 30, English 30 and any
BIT Financial Management Courses completed, along with a Letter of Acceptance from the Post-
Secondary institution attending.
Applications must be received by July 1st, 2018. Woodman White & Associates is not responsible
for lost or misdirected mail. Applications may be submitted in one of two ways:
