How to Participate in Class

Reef Student Web Application

●

Go to www.app.reef-education.com.

●

If you've used Reef before, login.

●

If you are new to Reef, click on the "Sign Up"
link.
○

Select your institution, then enter your
information. Please use your
university email and your First and
Last Name.

Important: Only create and use a single Reef student account. Creating
multiple accounts may result in the loss of grade points.

Reef Student Mobile App

If you want to use your mobile device to vote, you
can download the mobile app from the Apple or
Google app stores.

If you are using an iClicker Remote...

If you plan to use a clicker, you must register
your remote in your Reef account.

If you are using an iClicker Remote...

Enter the barcode ID number found on the back
of your clicker. If you do not have your clicker,
you can register it later in your Reef profile.

Add This Course

Go to the courses list and click the + button.

●

Search and select Queen’s University.

●

Search and select Lorena Jessop or
LING100B.

●

Confirm this course by clicking "Add this
Course."

Check Your Courses List

You should see the course added to your Courses list.

Join a Session

●

I will be running Attendance, Polling, and
Quizzing sessions in class. When I start a
session, you will see a “Join” button appear
at the top of your screen.

●

Hit the Join button to check-in to Attendance,
participate in a poll, or participate in a quiz.

Viewing Session History

●

The session history will capture the results of
Attendance, Polling, and Quizzing sessions
for each class date.

●

You can select an individual class date to
view more details, including images of polling
questions to use as a study guide.

Subscription Expired
●

After 14 days, your free trial will expire and
you'll need to purchase a subscription. You
can also purchase an access code from the
Campus bookstore. A subscription is optional
if you are using a clicker.

●

If you purchased an iClicker remote and
received an access code card, this gives you
a 6 month subscription to Reef.
