2 Description / Specifications The transmitter can be used in one of two modes, wireless or wired. In wireless mode the transmitter emits a signal radially approximately seven feet. In wired mode, the transmitter will emit a signal strength of approximately four feet on either side of the attached wire. Actual amount of signal generated is a function of wire geometry. The pet wears a battery-powered receiver, and will receive a correction when the receiver collar detects the presence of a signal emitted by the transmitter or the perimeter wire. PERIMETER TECHNOLOGIES, INC., subject to the terms and conditions contained herein, hereby warrants that it will repair or replace, at its discretion, the equipment described below for the period listed, that proves defective by reason of workmanship and/or material, or by electrical surge, for which the unit was purchased. For the life thereof, any transmitter or receiver, subject to the terms and conditions listed blow, that proves defective by reason of workmanship or material; or, on a one time occurrence, any receiver damaged as a result of a pet chew; or, for a “replacement fee”, that the company shall publish from time to time, any receiver that proves defective by reason other than workmanship or material. Warranty does not include local service charges that may be imposed by independent dealers rendering service. Terms and condition are as follows: a. The warranty is limited to the original purchaser of the unit at retail. When requesting warranty service, proof of purchase may be required. A copy of the warranty registration or sales receipt may be used. b. The unit must be shipped, freight prepaid, or delivered to an authorized Dealer of PERIMETER TECHNOLOGIES, INC. to render the service provided herein. Dealers may charge a service fee to render on-site service over and above any applicable charges. c. The unit must not have been previously altered, repaired or serviced by anyone other than a service facility authorized by PERIMETER TECHNOLOGIES, INC. The unit must not have been subject to accident, misuse, abuse, or operated contrary to the instructions provided herein.
14 Receiver Problem: Receiver is not detecting signal from the wire 1. Make certain that the transmitter is turned on and transmitting. 2. Make certain that the receiver battery is inserted properly. 3. Make cure that the display is reading a 6 or higher. A setting of less than 6 may not detect a break in the wire. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue. Problem: Pet is not responding to the correction stimulus / training pulse 1. Check the fit or tightness of the collar. Make certain that the soft probes are making contact with the pet’s skin. In some cases you may want to shave the pet’s hair back so that the probes make good contact with the skin. 2. Make sure that the receiver battery has been recently replaced and is inserted properly. 3. If your unit uses the comfort contacts with rubber tips make sure that they have been replaced. Depending on the pet these may need to be replaced as often as every six months. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue. Problem: Low battery indicator on the receiver is flashing 1. Replace the receiver battery. Refer to the battery replacement section for specific instructions. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue. 3Cautions DO NOT use this system for guard pets or vicious pets. If you believe your pet may pose a threat to others, DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM. DO NOT use this system as a solid barrier. This product is a deterrent, meant to train pets to remain within or to avoid an established boundary. It will not work without proper training. DO NOT permit children to operate the system. If you are unsure as to whether or not your pet will be suitable on a PET STOP System, speak with your PET STOP dealer. Additionally, your system will not work unless you: • Adjust the collar tight enough for the posts to make contact with the pet’s skin but not so tight that it will cause injury. • Replace your batteries as required. • Contact your local dealer if there are any issues. • Train your pet properly. We do not recommend leaving your pet unsupervised while on this system. Caution: Changes or modifications to any component, not expressly approved by Perimeter Technologies, Inc. could void the user’s authority to operate this equipment
4 Agency Certifications Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, this is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following means: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver • Connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected • Consult the dealer for help. 13Troubleshooting Transmitter Problem: No Display on the transmitter Check the following: 1. Check to make sure the transmitter has not been turned off. Do this by pressing the “up” button (button that increases the signal strength). 2. Check the AC outlet to make certain it is supplying power. We recommend you plug something else into the outlet to see if the outlet is good. 3. Check that the AC adapter is plugged into the LEFT connector. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue. Problem: Transmitter is blinking Possible cause overheating Check the following: 1. Check to make sure that nothing is obstructing the unit, do not block any ventilation openings on the transmitter. 2. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus that produce heat. 3. Make sure that the transmitter is not located in a tight location as in underneath a very low piece of furniture. 4. Unplug this apparatus when unused for long periods of time. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue. Problem: Transmitter is beeping and display is flashing on and off Check the following: 1. Make sure that the loop wire is plugged correctly into the jack on the right side of the transmitter. 2. Make certain that the loop wire has not been damaged. You may have a break in the perimeter wire. Locate the break and repair it or replace. Contact your local dealer if none of these resolve the issue.
12 Operation Transmitter: Under normal operation, the transmitter will display the signal strength number (such as “10”) and will make no sounds. This indicates the transmitter is operating normally. You may make adjustments to the transmitter to obtain the correction zone you desire. Pressing the upper button (“+”) will increase the field to a maximum of 32. Pressing the lower button (“-“) will decrease the field to a minimum of 1. Please note that the transmitter will not detect a break in the wire if the setting goes below 6. A recommended starting point for the field is 15. Lower this accordingly to accommodate situations such as areas where the correction zone may interfere or encroach in an area that’s OK for the pet to be (lower the setting in this case). Or raise the setting to broaden the correction zone. If the transmitter detects a fault or a wire break it will notify you both audibly and visually. The display will blink whenever a fault is detected. The audio alarm will beep when a wire break has occurred. Receiver: The receiver will activate (emit a beep and produce a correction across the probes) when it enters the signal field (the area in front of and behind the wire in wired mode, the area radiating from the transmitter in wireless mode). The receiver will continue to activate while it is held in the signal field for a period of 20 seconds. It will then shutdown until it is removed from the signal field. This shutdown is designed to protect the pet in case it gets stuck in the signal field. The receiver’s red light will begin to flash when it detects the battery getting low. This light does not activate during normal operation. 5 User Controls 1: Range Display Readouts display the current range setting. 2: Range adjustment pushbuttons Pressing the upper (“+”) button will increase the signal emanating from the perimeter wire. This will effectively increase the area on both sides of the wire, where the pet will receive a correction. Pressing the lower (“-“) button will decrease this area. When used in wireless mode, the range adjustments will increase or decrease the area surrounding the unit. 3: AC adapter power jack Plug in the AC adapter that came with the unit, into the “Power” connector on the left. Only use an approved PET STOP AC adapter. 4: Loop Wire attachment – wired mode If desired/required, plug in the loop wire at the right connector labeled “Loop”.

A well-trained pet, which infrequently challenges the system, will yield a much higher battery life. When it is time to change the battery, the red indicator light on the front of the receiver will begin to flash. The battery should be changed immediately.
10 7 Wireless Operation Place the transmitter in the location you would like the pet to avoid (example, under the couch). Plug the AC adapter into the transmitter (left side as shown in picture below), this turns the unit on. (Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the LEFT side, marked “Power”). Adjust the range by pushing the upper (“+ “ to increase) and/or lower (“-“ to decrease) buttons. A mounting option has been provided if you would like to permanently mount the unit.
8 Wired Operation Take the wired mode adaptor cord provided (plug on one end, two wires on the other end) and attach each end to a loop wire utilizing standard electrical techniques; as in crimping the wires together, pig tails, or simply twisting them together using electrical tape to insulate the connections. Attach/plug in the wired mode adaptor plug with loop wire into the RIGHT side, marked “Loop”. Adjust the loop wire to go around the area you do want the pet to avoid, example the outer edges of a room. Plug the AC adapter into the transmitter, this turns the unit on. (Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the LEFT side, marked “Power”). Adjust the signal strength by pushing the upper (“+ “ to increase ) or lower (“-“ to decrease) buttons. 9Receiver Collar Setup
