EN38Editing a Network ProfileThe Factory Defaults profile for a SLA5500NS cannot be edited. However, there areother profiles available that can be edited to effectively create new profiles. Tochange these settings, you will need to have some knowledge of your wirelessnetwork setup.Note: The alternative profiles can be edited at any time, but any existing informationin the selected profile will be overwritten once the profile has been edited andsaved.1Display the profile to be edited (see ‘Viewing Existing Network Profiles’).2Give your profile a unique Profile Name.3Enter the Service Set ID (SSID) for your wireless LAN.4By default, the profile will use the Infrastructure network type (i.e. an Internetbase station is available on the network). If however you select the Allow ad-hocconnection checkbox, it means that your PC will use a direct peer-to-peerconnection to the SLA5500NS and no Internet connection is available. InternetRadio will not be supported with this option.•If you are using WEP encryption on the wireless network, click the WEP enabledcheckbox and enter the appropriate WEP key and the Key index.•If you are using a proxy server, check the Use proxy server checkbox. Enter the Proxy server as an IP address (example 192.167.0.10) or as a name(example my.proxy). The Proxy port number must be a numeric value (usually, this is port 80 or 8080).5If the SLA5500NS will get a dynamic IP address automatically from a DHCPserver, select the Use DHCP checkbox.6If the SLA5500NS needs a fixed IP address, leave the Use DHCP checkboxunchecked and enter the IP Address for the SLA5500NS, as well as the Netmask(Subnet mask), and IP addresses for the Gateway, DNS Server Preferred and DNS Server Alternate.7Click the ‘Apply’ button to confirm the changes, or click the ‘Refresh’ button todiscard the changes.8If you want to make this profile the active profile for the SLA5500NS, click the‘Make Active’ button. EN40Possible Cause •SolutionPower unavailable. •Check that the SLA5500NS power cable is properly connected and that thepower is switched on.SLA5500NS is not known to the network.•Check that the MAC address for the SLA5500NS has been entered correctly inthe wireless network’s MAC Access Control. Turn off the Wireless MusicReceiver and turn it on again.Internet unavailable.•Check that the Internet base station has an active connection to the Internet.Wireless network incorrectly configured.•Open the SLA5500NS Wireless Music Receiver PC Utility and select the WirelessMusic Link that has the problem. Click the ‘Profiles’ button and check that theactive profile is correctly configured for your network. Turn on the SLA5500NSand ensure that the correct profile has been selected under Network Profiles. This can be caused by network delays when sending out UPnP requests.•Make sure the SLA5500NS is connected to the power supply and that thebatteries in the remote control are fresh and inserted correctly.Wait a few seconds and try again. If the problem persists, unplug the WirelessMusic Receiver, wait a minute, plug it in again and then turn it on again. No music files in the Media Manager Music Library.•Follow the instructions under ‘Installing Philips Media Manager’ to add files to theMusicLibrary.Media Manager is not running. •Start the Philips Media Manager server by clicking the Media Manager icon in rightside of the Windows task bar on your computer.File has been moved or deleted but link is still in Philips Media Manager library.•The Philips Media Manager library stores a link to a music file, not the file itself. Ifyou move or delete the music file and do not delete it or reselect it in the PhilipsMedia Manager Library, the SLA5500NS will be unable to locate the file. OpenPhilips Media Manager and delete and/or add the track from the correct filelocation.File permissions on music file are incorrect.•Check that you have read access to the music file on the computer where it isstored.
