FiberUse the Bluetooth remote controlYou can use the remote control that comes with your Google Fiber TV system (GFRM100) as either infrared orBluetooth®. It is ready to use as an infrared remote with your TV Box when you receive it. If you want to use it tocontrol your TV as well, you can program it by following the instructions in Program the remote for your TV. If youwant to use it as a Bluetooth remote, you must pair it by following the instructions in Pair the remote with a TVBox.The following table describes the most common functions of the buttons on the standard remote control providedwith your system. Some buttons have more than one function, depending on what is displayed on your TV screenat the time you press them.The Bluetooth remote control must be within 10 meters of the TV Box, assuming there are no significantobstructions.Button Function tvbox Toggles between turning on the TV Box  and putting it in standby mode. tv Toggles between turning the TV on and off. (This button is programmable. See Program the remote foryour TV for details.)input Switches between types of input to your TV, such as Google TV, a Blu-ray player, a game box, orsomething similar. (This button is programmable for most TVs. See Program the remote for yourTV for details.)Stops the current recording from playing and returns to the last content you were watching.Records the content you are watching. (Note that since everything you watch is recorded, this actuallyconfirms that the DVR should keep that recording and that it should continue recording that show,even if you stop watching it.) Also, schedules a program that is highlighted on the on-screen guide orinfo overlay to be recorded. Press it again to display recording options.Press the top to play the highlighted or selected show or stack of highlighted shows. Also, resumesplaying after pausing.Press the bottom to pause the content you are watching. Press the pause button repeatedly toadvance forward one frame at a time.Rewinds the content you are watching. (Does not work while paused.)Fast-forwards the content you are watching.  (Does not work while paused.)
Skips back 15 seconds in the current program, by default, or by the length of time you set in yourcustomized skip and time-out settings. Also horizontally pages left through lists.Skips forward 15 seconds in the current program, by default, or by the length of time you set inyour customized skip and time-out settings. Also horizontally pages right through lists.Displays the main menu, which disappears after a few seconds, if you do nothing more. (See Use themain menu options for details.)Jumps back to the previous screen of info or content.Displays the on-screen program guide. (See Use the on-screen guide for details.) Also deletes the highlighted item(s) (with a prompt for you toconfirm the deletion) and can be used to delete an entire group of recordings at once. (See Delete arecorded show for details.)prev While watching TV, shows the list of previously viewed channels while watching TV, and you canquickly switch to any channel listed. FiberProgram the remote for your TVYou can program the remote control to operate your TV, as well as the TV Box. Although the InstallationSpecialist programmed it for you at installation time, this procedure is provided to help you do it yourself, ifnecessary.Use any of the following methods to program the remote:TV brand search (recommended):Turn on the TV using the TV's original remote control.1.On the Google Fiber TV remote control, press and hold the   tv and ok buttons together for threeseconds.The   tv button blinks twice and then stays on.2.Release both buttons.3.Enter the 4-digit code for the TV brand.See TV brand codes for a list of TV brands and the code for each.After you enter the fourth digit of the TV brand code, the TV Power button blinks twice and thenstays on.If it blinks several times and then turns off, the code was invalid. Go back to the previousstep, and try again. If it fails again, try the manual programming method.4.Pause for three seconds.5.Press and hold   tv until the TV turns off.While you hold the   tv button down, the remote control tests each code for the specified branduntil it finds the right one. When it finds the right code, it turns the TV off.If the   tv button starts blinking, it means that it tried all of the codes, but none weresuccessful. Repeat the process. If it fails again, try the manual programming method.6.
When the TV turns off, release   tv.7.Press   tv to turn on the TV.8.Press ok to exit programming mode, and confirm that the programming worked.9.Manual:Turn on the TV using the TV's original remote control.1.On the Google Fiber TV remote control, press and hold the 1 and 3 buttons together for threeseconds.The   tv button blinks twice and then stays on.2.Release both buttons.3.Enter the code for the TV model.See TV model codes for a list of TV models and the code for each.After you enter the last digit of the TV model code, the   tv button blinks slowly.If the   tv button blinks quickly, it indicates that the code was invalid. Go back to theprevious step, and try again.4.Press   tv.If the TV turns off, press ok to exit programming mode, and confirm that the programmingworked.If the TV does not turn off, go back to the previous step, and try the next code on the list.If you try all the codes on the list but none are successful, try the IR learning method.5.IR learning:This programming method requires the original remote control that came with the TV, as well as theGoogle Fiber remote control.Turn on the TV using the TV's original remote control.1.On the Google Fiber TV remote control, press and hold the 1 and 5 buttons together for threeseconds.2.
The   tv button blinks twice and then stays on.Release both buttons.3.Press the first learnable button that you want to program.The learnable buttons are: tvinputvol up/downThe   tv button LED turns on.4.Hold the original TV remote control about two inches from the Google Fiber remote control, and pointthe infrared sensors toward each other.5.Press and hold the button on the original TV remote that you want to program on the Google Fiberremote.If the learning works, the programmed button on the Google Fiber remote blinks twice, and theLED stays on.If the learning does not work, the button does not blink. Try again.6.Press the next learnable button that you want to program, and repeat the two previous steps.7.Repeat the process for each learnable button that you want to program.8.When you finish programming the learnable buttons, press ok to exit programming mode, andconfirm that the programming worked.9.Confirm that the remote control can control the TV by making sure that the following buttons result in theappropriate actions: tv turns the TV on and off.input changes the source of input on the TV (such as from the TV Box or from a connected Blu-ray playeror other device).vol up/down changes the volume. toggles between muted and normal audio.These are the only buttons on the remote that control the TV. If they behave as expected, the remote controlprogramming is complete.

FiberPair the remote with a TV BoxYour Installation Specialist programmed the Google Fiber remote controls to operate your TVs, as well as the TVBoxes at installation time. This included pairing the Bluetooth® capability of the remotes with your TV Boxes.
