Ifyou attempt to use the functions describedabove while driving, they will become disableduntil you stop the vehicle in a safe place, and (1)apply the parking brake, (2) release the parkingbrake, and then (3) apply the parking brakeagain. Auto EQ (auto-equalizing)The auto-equalizer automatically measures thecar’s interior acoustic characteristics, and thencreates an auto-equalizer curve based on that in-formation.!To perform this function, dedicated micro-phone (e.g. CD-MC20) is required.WARNINGAs a loud tone (noise) may be emitted from thespeakers when measuring the car’s interioracoustic characteristics, never perform auto EQwhile driving.CAUTION!Thoroughly check the conditions before per-forming auto EQ as the speakers may bedamaged if these functions are performedwhen:—The speakers are incorrectly connected. (Forexample, when a rear speaker is connectedas a subwoofer output.)—A speaker is connected to a power amp deliv-ering output higher than the speaker’s maxi-mum input power capability.!If the microphone is placed in an unsuitableposition the measurement tone may becomeloud and measurement may take a longtime, resulting in battery drainage.
