ThankyouforbuyingyourPodGPSpettracker.Wehopeyouenjoyusingthisdevice.
BeforeusingyourPod,pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefullytoensureyoufullyunderstandhowit
worksandhowitshouldbeused.
Step1Chargingthebattery.PlacethebatteryintheUSBchargingdockandinsertthechargerina
convenientUSBportonyourcomputeroralternativelyaUSBmainsadaptor.Anorangelightwill
showthatthebatteryisbeingcharged.Thebatteryneedstobechargedfortwohoursoruntilthe
orangelightturnsgreen.
GeneralDescription
ThePodTrackercomprisesfourmainelements;aGPSunit,tofixitsposition;aNetworkServiceunit
withaSIMcardforcommunications,amotionsensorandapowersource(battery).Pleasenotethat
theGPSunitreliesoninformationfromsatellitestoestablishitspositionandmetalstructuresor
largebuildingsmayinterferewithitsabilityto‘see’thesatellites.Similarly,theNetworkServiceUnit
mustbeinrangeoftheMobileNetworkbecauseitreliesonthesametechnologyasyourmobile
phone.InoperationthePodTrackermayloseitspositionfromtimetotimewhenitislocatedinan
areaofpoorsatellitereceptionsuchasbeneathametalroof.Thiswillnotnormallycauseaproblem
becausetheunitwillcontinuetoreestablishitsposition.Ifnomovementisdetectedbythemotion
sensorformorethanaminutetheunitwillswitchto‘sleep’modeuntilmovementisdetected.
UnitDescription
TheillustrationbelowshowsthePodTrackerwiththebatteryinstalled.Atthebaseoftheunitatthe
oppositeendtothebatterytheswitchislocated.Thisisawaterproofswitchandthereforerequires
firmpressureatthecentreofthebasetoactivate.ThisisbestachievedbysqueezingthePod
Trackerbetweenthethumbandforefingerwiththethumbcentrallyonthebaseandtheforefinger
onthebatteryatthetop.Therearethreeindicatorlights.Thetopindicatorisonthebatterywhere
itconnectstotheunit.Therearetwofurtherindicatorsontheunititself.
Topindicator
(baseofbattery) Green‐batteryischargedandreadyforoperation.
Red‐batteryisbelow30%charge.

Operation
Assemblytakethechargedbatteryandpositionitsothatthemarksonthebatteryandtheunit
arealigned.Pressthebatteryandunittogetheruntilaclickisheard.Holdingtheunitturnthe
batteryclockwiseuntilitislockedinposition.
SwitchingOnWiththeunitheldbetweenthumbandforefinger(asshown)presstheswitchatthe
centreofthebasefirmlyforthreeseconds.Allthreeindicatorlightswillilluminategreenin
sequenceandwillremainonforthreesecondstoshowthatthePodTrackerhasbegunitsstartup
process.
StartUpProcess
Theindicatorlightswillthenextinguishandaftertensecondsthesecondandthirdindicatorswill
lightforonesecondwhichwillthenberepeatedeverytensecondsuntiltheunithasestablishedits
positionwhenbothwillshowgreen.Duringthisprocessthesecondindicatorwillnormallyshow
greentoindicatenetworkserviceisworkingandthethirdindicatorwillshowbluetoindicatethat
thepositionhasnotyetbeenfixed.Pleasenotethatdependentuponlocation,timeofday,weather
conditionsandsatellitereceptionthisprocessmayinitiallytakeseveralminutes.Oncetheposition
hasbeenfixedtheunitwillcontinuetoautomaticallylocateitself.
StatusChecking
Duringnormaloperationtheindicatorlightswillremainofftoconservebatterypower.Thestatusof
theunitmaybecheckedatanytimeafterthestartupprocessiscompleted.Thisisachievedbya
rapiddepressionandreleaseoftheswitch.Theindicatorlightswillthenilluminatebrieflytoshow
thestatusofeachfunctionasfollows:‐
ThreeGreenBatterygood,NetworkServicegood,GPSfixgood.
Green,Green,BlueBatterygood,NetworkServicegood,TryingtoestablishGPSfix.
Red,Green,GreenBatterybelow30%,NetworkServicegood,GPSfixgood.
Pleasenotethatcareshouldbetakentopressandreleasetheswitchquicklyotherwiseitwillcause
theunittoswitchoffandthestartupproceduremustberepeatedtocontinueoperation.
SwitchingOff
Presstheswitchforthreeseconds.Thetopindicatorwillflashredthreetimesandtheunitwill
powerdown.
ReplacingtheBattery
Removalofthebatterywillcausetheunittopowerdown.Havingreplacedthebatteryitwillthenbe
necessarytoswitchonandallowtheunittorunthroughthestartupprocess.
Fittingthestrap
Havingfamiliarisedyourselfwiththebasicfunctionsandoperationoftheunit,youarenowreadyto
attachtheunittoyourpet’scollar.Passthetwoshortendsoftheincludedrubberstrapthroughthe
outerslotsintheunitasshownsothatthesmoothsideofthestrapisnexttotheunit.Pulleach
tanguntilthefirstribisvisible.Passthelongtangaroundthecollarandbackthroughthecentreslot
intheunitintheoppositedirectiontotheothertangs.Pullthroughenoughribsuntiltheunitis
securelyfittedtothecollar.Thetangmythenbetrimmedandtheendtuckedthroughtheslot
provided.Pleasenotethatforeaseoffittingandamorepermanentattachmentyoumaypreferto
useacabletie.

OperationalNotes
Duringoperationtheunitwillgointo‘sleep’modeifitisnotmovedformorethanoneminute.Ifthe
motionsensoristhenactivatedbymovementtheunitwill‘wakeup’andcontinuetomonitorits
position.Thisfunctionalityisimportanttoconservebatterypower.
IftheAppuserrequeststheunitspositionthesecondindicatorlightwillflashthreetimes.
IftheAppuserdefinesanewperimeterthesecondindicatorwillflashseventimes.
Batterylifewilldependonusage.Themode(Standby,Perimeter,Track)inwhichtheunitisset.The
numberoftimesalocationisrequested,thenumberoftimesaperimeterisredefinedandthelevel
ofactivityofthepet.
Ifyouareexperiencingdifficultyinestablishingthepositioninalocationwherethishasbeenreadily
achievedbefore,tryswitchingoffandonagainaftertenseconds.
Thisdevicecomplieswithpart15oftheFCCRules.
Operationissubjecttothefollowingtwoconditions:
(1)Thisdevicemaynotcauseharmfulinterference,and
(2)thisdevicemustacceptanyinterferencereceived,includinginterferencethatmaycause
undesiredoperation.
Note:ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassB
digitaldevice,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovide
reasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferenceinaresidentialinstallation.This
equipmentgenerates,usesandcanradiateradiofrequencyenergyand,ifnotinstalledand
usedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterferencetoradio
communications.
However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticularinstallation.If
thisequipmentdoescauseharmfulinterferencetoradioortelevisionreception,whichcan
bedeterminedbyturningtheequipmentoffandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrect
theinterferencebyoneormoreofthefollowingmeasures:
Reorientorrelocatethereceivingantenna.
Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver.
Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhichthe
receiverisconnected.
Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.

environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm
between the radiator & your body.
