Safety and General
1. Do not transmit more than 50% of time. It is important as the radio generates measurable RF energy exposure only when
transmitting.
2. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
3. Radio frequency signals transmitted may cause interference to hearing aids.
4. Turn off the radio when near medical equipment.
5. This product should not be used by people with pacemakers.
6. Do not use the radio when driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
7. Do not use the radio when on board aircraft.
8. Do not hold the antenna when transmitting.
9. Do not use the radio when the antenna has damaged.
10. Turn off the radio and remove the batteries if you are not going to use it for a long time.

Two-way Radio Operation
The device was tested for typical body-worn operations using the supplied belt-clip. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, body-worn operations are restricted to the supplied belt-clip. For hand-held operation, the radio should be
held at least 1 inch (2.5cm) from the user’s face. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply

OPERATIONAL CAUTIONS
1. Never dispose of batteries in a fire. There is a serious risk of explosion and /or the release of highly toxic chemicals.
2. Do not expose your product to direct sunlight, extreme cold or place it near heating appliances.
3. Do not submerge any part of your product in water and do not use it in damp, humid or wet conditions.

Introduction
Operation (cont.)
Each Scrambler UHF is factory programmed to provide discreet private two-way voice contact. All outgoing transmissions are digitally encrypted and scrambled to prevent eavesdropping. In
addition, CTCSS frequency guard protects the receive circuit by
blocking outside interference. Combined, these features ensure
that communications remain completely private.
4. Before making a call, monitor the channel to make sure that no one is using the
frequency (optional). To monitor the channel depress and hold the monitor button
(I).
5. To make a call press and hold the PTT key (G) on the side of the radio and speak
into the microphone. The LED indicator (C) will flash red confirming transmission.
6. For best voice translation speak directly into the microphone (F) using normal
voice levels. Release the PTT key when you are finished speaking.
7. Incoming messages are received through the built in speaker (E). Adjust the
speaker sound level by rotating the volume control knob as follows: clockwise:
higher, counter-clockwise: lower. Incoming messages are confirmed by green flashing light on LED indicator.

8. The headset jack (D) allows addition of audio accessories including speaker microphone and lightweight and heavy-duty headsets.
Using Your Headsets
Our headsets include special noise cancelling
microphones. For optimum performance adjust microphone boom so the element is directly in front of, and
approximately 1 - 2” from the user’s mouth.
Charging
Low Battery Indicator:
Operation
1. Slide battery onto the back of the transceiver until the latch at the bottom clicks,
then follow the charging procedure before operation.
2. The Power switch / volume control knob (B) turns the transceiver on and off and
also sets the incoming sound level. Turn the power switch / volume control clockwise
to turn the transceiver on.
3. Set the operating channel via the Channel Selector (A). Rotate the Channel Knob
setting it to the desired channel. Channel numbers are printed on the radio. The
radio features an audible channel announcement and will tell the user the channel selected.

Double audio beep every 5 seconds indicates low battery power.
Recharge accordingly.
1. After purchase, or after extended storage (greater than 2 months) charge and discharge the battery two or three times.
2. Plug the AC adapter cable into the jack located on the rear of desktop charger base.
3. Slide the transceiver and battery pack into the charger.
4. Plug adapter into AC outlet.
5. Make sure the battery pack contacts are touching the terminals.
6. LED indications: RED: charging, GREEN: full charge.
7. Remove the transceiver from charging base when charging is completed.
