Introduction:Breeze™ is a portable, wireless Breathalyzer that detects the pres-ence of alcohol on your breath. Using the Breathometer app on your supported smartphone; a simple 5 second blow through the mouthpiece on Breeze is all that is required to obtain your estimated blood alcohol level in seconds. Breeze is designed to detect and measure alcohol (ethanol) in hu-man breath through the use of an Electrochemical Fuel Cell sensor and patented software. These results are represented through the Breathometer app on your smartphone using the following ratio of breath alcohol to blood alcohol 2,100:1. This means that 2,100ml of alveolar air contains the same amount of alcohol as 1ml of blood. This is the same ratio law enforcement agencies and hospitals use when a blood sample is not available. Using this ratio, measure-ments from the breath can be used to calculate a respective level of intoxication. Breeze will detect levels between 0.00% - 0.20% BAC with law enforcement grade accuracy. What’s the deal with alcohol?Millions of people consume alcohol on a daily basis, so many feel they understand how it impacts them. We wanted to provide a little more detailed information to explain why knowing your BAC level might be very important. Beyond understanding yourself a little better, you can also start to learn that what you eat, what you are drinking and how fast you may be consuming alcohol may effect you in different ways. With every sip consumed, alcohol is absorbed by your body and makes its way through your mouth, stomach, small intestine, heart, brain, liver, kidneys, lungs and skin. 3
Alcohol is a depressant. It has a relaxing effect on the muscles in your body. The muscles of your eyes relax and lose focus. Your eyesight will become fuzzy and you may experience double vision. As we’ve said, your brain is affected. Brain activity is slowed. Your judgment, reexes and coordination are all negatively affected. Some vision impairments that occur when you have been drinking include:-Narrowing of your eld of vision-Reduction in your depth perception-Decreased ability to see in darkness-Increased sensitivity to glare and a longer time for your eyes to re-adjust from glareSome mental (brain) impairments that occur when you have been drinking include:-Reduced awareness of danger-Becoming over-condent and reckless-Decision-making becomes difcult-Reduction in balance-Slowed reexes-Impaired judgementHow does alcohol affect my driving?“We can’t emphasize enough how dangerous it is for you to drink and drive. Your vision and your brain are the most important factors to driving safely. If you jeopardize either one by drinking and driving, you are likely to be involved in a serious or fatal collision.” From California Department of Motor Vehicles (http://www.dmv.ca.gov)4

A few tips:It is strongly recommended to avoid blowing excess moisture into the mouthpiece, as this may affect the accuracy of the results and impact future tests. If excess moisture is detected, we recommend gently waiving the product back and forth holding the mouthpiece in your ngers, allowing the moisture to escape through the bottom of the product. If you share your Breeze with friends, we recommend using the mouthpiece accessory to keep the mouthpiece free from excessive germs and contaminants. Using Breeze is similar to sharing a whistle- so use your best judgment when sharing without the mouthpiece. Please wait 20 minutes after your last drink to obtain an accurate result. If you have residual alcohol in your mouth- this will impact your results. You can clean your Breeze using a damp towel on the exterior surfaces. We do not recommend using alcohol based cleansers or detergents as this may impact the color or functionality of the product. How to interpret the results? The generally accepted legal limit for blood alcohol concentration in the United States is 0.08%. However, your operation of a vehicle can be impaired at levels of 0.04% or lower. It is not safe to drink any alcohol and drive.12
Product maintenance:Battery: Breeze operates on a coin cell battery that can be changed after 15 months, or 2,500 tests. There is a battery level indicator in the Breathometer app when connected. It also informs you on how many tests have been taken on your Breeze. To change the battery, you will need a CR3032 Coin Cell Battery- usually found where you would purchase replacement watch batteries. The bat-tery is located below the top case of the Breeze. Simply rotate the top case by holding the bottom in one hand and rotating the top a fraction to the left. A partial rotation of the top case will separate it from the bottom. After replacing the battery, simply place the top case back on the Breeze and rotate it into the locked position.Cleaning: You can use a damp cloth to wipe off your Breeze.
