Mississauga, Ontario Canada Installation Instruction Important: All Approval and safety information is outlined in the ‘NEO Handheld-computer User Manual’ – part number 8100157. This manual is available on our website www.psion.com through the community website http://community.psionteklogix.com/home/default.aspx. Important: The NEO with the RFID option must not be held closer than 20 cm from the rest of the body. This product must not be used in a holster or on a belt-clip. Easily installable expansion modules for the NEO allow you to customise this hand-held to meet your specific mobile computing requirements. This chapter outlines how to install the RFID Module UHF-CAQ-AC5-NEO. Before installing a module in the NEO, all power sources must be turned off. • Remove the batteries. A.0 SHEET OF • Remove the rubber cover to reveal the expansion port: Rubber cover • Remove also the black Mylar mask to ensure a proper connection: Mylar mask • Once the Mylar mask is removed your extension port should look like the picture below: You can now install the RFID Module UHF-CAQ-AC5-NEO. • Installing the RFID Module: PART NUMBER: SHEET REV: OF A.0 The RFID Module UHF-CAQ-AC5 includes: Î 1 UHF add-on CAQ-AC5 Î 2 screws M2x8 1. Snap the RFID module UHF-CAQ-AC5-NEO using the upper mounting slots 2. Fasten firmly the Plastic back pack to the NEO using the two M2X8MM screws M2X8MM screws P/N 9010741 PART NUMBER: SHEET REV: OF A.0 • Reading area: This area depends on the TAG type, TAG packaging, Tag orientation and environment (metallic or not). Circular antenna PART NUMBER: SHEET REV: OF A.0 • Software installation: 1. 2. • Copy and install the two CAB files named “[UHF] CAEN “RFIDDriver_NEO_UHF_NEO.CAB” After installation, select “CAEN Demo” in Programs, the connection panel opens: tools 3.01.CAB” and 3. In Connection panel, Click on Driver Infos button ,If the driver status is “the driver is not installed” , Install the RFIDDriver_NEO_UHF_NEO.CAB ” 4. Click on the Connection button to launch the RFID demo. The configuration tab opens : To configure CAEN Demo, select the configuration tab. PART NUMBER: SHEET REV: OF A.0 • To read the ID of a TAG, select Read ID Tab and press the button Read. Put the TAG in front of the antenna. PART NUMBER: SHEET REV: OF A.0 RFID MODULE UHF-CAQ-AC5-NEO RFID Regulatory Information IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NORTH AMERICA: The RFID must not be used whilst the host NEO is being powered by the ac/dc adaptor. FCC Information to Users: This product and it antennas must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Radiation Exposure Compliance This product complies with the FCC RF exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. For continued compliance, the product must not be held closer than 20 cm from the rest of the body. This product must not be used in a holster or on a belt-clip. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
