How to update QT Series DVR’s to Firmware 3.1.92 from PC
(Network Firmware Update)
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The QT Series DVR’s (QT426 excluded) must have firmware
version 3.1.6 or higher to perform a firmware upgrade over the network. To verify your firmware
version, go to your DVR and open Main Menu => Information => System.
If your DVR is QT426, the DVR must have firmware version 3.1.91 currently installed to
perform the firmware upgrade via network. If your firmware is lower than 3.1.91, please refer to
the standard firmware update procedure that requires USB Flash Drive.

Steps to update DVR firmware from your PC (via network)
It is recommended to perform this update on a PC connected to same Local LAN network as
your DVR.
1. Download the firmware that corresponds to your DVR model:
QT428, QT454, QT504

2. Open Internet Explorer and login to your DVR.
3. Once logged in, click on “Tools”
4. Then click on “Upgrade”
5. Click on “Browse”
6. Locate the firmware file you previously downloaded to your computer and select that file.
7. Click on the “Upgrade” button as shown below and the update process will begin. The DVR will
automatically power cycle itself during the firmware upgrade process. You will notice your browser
drop the connection to your DVR for a few minutes during this time.
Close your browser for 5 to 10 minutes. Reopen Internet Explorer browser and reconnect to your DVR.
You should now see firmware version 3.1.92 in the INFO tab.
