5/ Water and Moisture - The unit should not be used near water, for example, near a

6/ Heat — The unit should be placed away from heat sources such as radiators, stoves,

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing CASABLANCA from QuickShot, CASABLANCA is a
professional 3 pieces multi-media speaker system with SubWoofer, 3D QSound
(Virtual Surround), BASS, TREBLE, mic-input, mic output, headphone and wired full
function remote controller features incorporated, the 3D QSound effect functions can
be enable or disable by simply pressing the directional buttons. Three difference 3D
QSound effect levels can be selected to suit your personal requirements.
This manual is a guide on how to install, operate and if necessary troubleshoot the
CASABLANCA. Please read this manual carefully before you start yourinstallation.
Please carefully unpack and inspect all the items included in this package.
The package should include:
1) A left satellite speaker
2) A right satellite speaker
3) A subwoofer unit (the center unit)
4) A remote control unit
5) An AC power adapter
6) AnAudio inputcable
7) A user's manual (this manual)
If any item is missing. please contact your dealer immediately where you purchased the
CASABLANCA.
CAUTION
To insure proper operation and long product life of your CASABLANCA, we strongly
recommend the user to observe the followings:
1) Use only the AC adapter supplied.
2) If the system will not be used for a very long time, disconnect the AC adapter from
the power source.
3) Do not operate or store the CASABLANCA under direct sunlight or in places
subject to extreme heat, or moisture.
4) Always keep the rear of every speaker at least five centimeters (approximately 2
inches) away from the wall behind it. This will help to keep good ventilation and
produce the designed audio characteristics.
5) Do not disassemble the CASABLANCA, there is no user serviceable parts inside.
Warning! Disassembling the CASABLANCA will automatically void its product
warranty.
6) Always connect or disconnect all cables by holding the connector plug. Do not pull
the cable itself.

7) Although the CASABLANCA is magnetically shielded, there may be cases in
which the picture on the screen of the display monitor or TV may become
magnetically distorted. If the screen become distorted.
~ Place the speaker system farther away from the monitor of TV.
- Turn off the power of the monitor of TV and turn it on again after 15~3O
minutes
- Remove magnets or other objets which can change/generate a magnetic
field, such as an audio rack which should be kept away from the speaker
system. These objects may cause magnetic interaction with the
CASABLANCA.

The power socket for connecting of the external adapter to the speaker system.
External power must be supplied before any operation (Use only the supplied AC
adapter)
5) REMOTEsocket
The socket for connecting the remote control unit to the center unit of
CASABLANCA. Be sure the remote control unit has been fully inserted before
any operation (The unit will not function Without the remote control unit
connected)
6) Satellite Speaker Right socket
Connect the Right satellite speaker to the center unit of CASABLANCA.
7) Satellite Speaker Left socket
Connect the Left satellite speaker to the center unit ot’CASABLANCA.
8) LINE IN socket
Connectexternal audio signal to the CASABLANCA via this socket.
9) MIC OUTsoeket
Connect external mic signal from CASABLANCA to the mic-in at sound card.
(This is an optional socket for the output of external microphone if necessary)
10) MIC IN socket
Connect external mic to CASABLAN CA. (This is an optional socket for the input
of external microphone if necessary)
1 1) Headphone socket
The socket for the external headphone with impedance of 16 ~ 32 ohm.
12) Remote control unit
There are 4 LEDs (”VOL“, ”BAS", "TRE" and "MODE”), 1 three digits 7—Segrnent
Display, 2 single buttons ("POWER" and "MUTE"), and 1 Cross Switch ("LEVEL"
up, "LEVEL" down, "SELECT” right and ”SELECT" left) can be found on the
panel of remote control unit. The selected operation and corresponding setting are
indicated on the LED and 7—Segment Display respectively.
13) AC adapter
This is an AC to AC adapter, do not attempt to use any other AC adapter other than
the AC adapter supplied with this speaker system.
14) Line-in cable
Change of the Line-in cable may result bad sound quality output

CONNECTING THE CASABLANCA SPEAKER SYSTEM

Always unplug the adapter from the wall outlet during connection.
1) Switch off both the power of your computer and CASABLANCA.
2) Connect the Left and Right satellite speakers to the center unit (SubWoofer unit).
3) Connect the Remote Controller unit to the center unit (SubWoofer unit).
4) Connect the CASABLANCA to the audio source such as the line out of a sound
card by using the supplied audio connecting cable.
5) Connect the AC adapter to the AC adapter socket of the center unit (SubWoofer
unit).
6) Plug the power plug of the AC adapter to the wall outlet.
OPERATION DESCRIPTION
1) Turn on the speaker system by pressing the "POWER" button on the remote
controllerunitonce.
2) Settings of master volume
The “VOL" LED on the remote unit will be switched on once the "POWER" button
on the remote unit is pressed. The default master Volume setting will be " 05". User
can press the ”LEVEL" up button on the remote control unit for master volume

level increment and "LEVEL" down button on the remote control unit for master
volume level decrement. Auto increment or decrement is activated when the
corresponding ”LEVEL" up or "LEVEL” down button is pressed and held over
halfsecond. The minimum level of master volume is " 00” and the maximum level
is ” 30".
Setting of "BASS"
By pressing either the left or right “SELECT" button, the ”BAS" LED on the
remote control unit can be switched on and the "BASS" setting function will be
activated, the display on the remote control unit will be "b 0" or last setting.
For example:
If ”VOL" LED on the remote control unit is active, press the right ”SELECT"
button once, the "VOL" LED will be off, the "BAS" LED will be on and "BASS“
setting function will be activated The user can now increase the "BASS” setting by
pressing the "LEVEL" up button or decrease the "BASS" setting by pressing the
”LEVEL" down button. The default ”BASS" setting is "b 0”, the maximum
“BASS” setting is "b 4” and the minimum "BASS" setting is "b-4".Auto increment
or decrement is activated when the corresponding button is pressed and held over
half-second.
Setting of "TREBLE"
By pressing either the left or right "SELECT” button, the "TRE" LED on the
remote control unit can be switched on and the "TREE LE“ setting function will be
activated, the display on the remote control unit will be "t 0" or last setting.
For example:
If "VOL" LED on the remote control unit is active, press the right ”SELECT"
button twice, the "VOL" LED will be off, the ”TRE" LED will be on and
"TREBLE" setting function will be activated The user can now increase the
"TREELE" setting by pressing the ”LEVEL" up button or decrease the
"TREBLE" setting by pressing the "LEVEL" down button. The default
"TREBLE" setting is "t 0", the maximum ”TREBLE" setting is “t 4" and the
minimum "TREBLE" setting is "t44". Auto increment or decrement is activated
when the corresponding button is pressed and held over half-second.
Change "MODE"
By pressing either the left or right "SELECT" button, the "MODE" LED on the
remote control unit can be switched on and the "MODE" setting function will be
activated, the display on the remote control unit will be "2 d" or last setting.
Forexample:
If "VOL" LED on the remote control unit is active, press the right "SELECT"
button 3 times. the "VOL" LED will be off, the "MODE" LED will be on and
”MODE” selecting function will be activated. The user can now change to the
desired sound effect mode by pressing the "LEVEL" up or down button. The
default sound ”MODE" setting is "2 d” which mean a standard stereo sound

performance. Auto scrolling of the sound effect is activated when the
corresponding button is pressed and held over half—second. The sequence will be
as followings
l/ "2,d" . standard stereo (no surround effect),
2/ "3d1" — QSound mode 1 (virtual surround mode l),
3/ ” 3d2" — QSound mode 2 (virtual surround mode 2),
4/ " 3d3" ~ QSound mode 3 (virtual surround mode 3), and
5/ ”PL?" — Headphone mode
Note:
when the user set the unit to "H_P", the user can only hear standard stereo music
from headphone and there will be no sound from either Satellite speakers or the
Woofer.
MUTE Control
The Satellite speakers and the SubWoofer can be muted by pressing the "MUTE"
button on the remote once. The ”---" will be displayed and the current settings will
be kept. Press either the "MUTE" button or the ”LEVEL" buttons will deactivate
the mute function. If either up or down "LEVEL" button has been pressed during
”MUTE” function activated, the corresponding level of the current function will be
altered at same time.
Note:
l/ This operation cannot apply in MODE function even the corresponding effect
can be updated through any "LEVEL" button. In order to un-mute the audio
output, the user should press the "MUTE" button once.
2/ If the "SELECT" button has been pressed when mute function is activated.
Although the mute function will not be deactivated, the current active function
will be changed. For example, "VOLUME" setting function can be changed to
"BASS" setting function by pressing the right "SELECT" button once even the
mute function is active.
Power Saving mode
When there is no any operation on the remote control unit, the display on the
remote control unit will be dimmed after 5 seconds. The display on the remote
control unit will resume normal if any button is on the remote control unit has been
pressed, except the "POWER" button for the power—off operation.
Setting after powereoff
All the settings are kept when the ”POWER" button on the remote control unit is
pressed, except the master volume. It is set to " 05 “ as default value once power—off,
and could be adjusted to the desired level after power—on,

off). if the remote control unit is removed or has been temporarily removed, all the
settings will be resumed to power up default value.
10) Using headphone
a/ Plug your headphone into the headphone socket of the CASABLANCA.
b/ Select headphone mode " H_P" via remote control unit as described
previously
c/ Adjust the headphone volume by adjusting the master volume via remote
control unit.
d/ Adjust the sound quality by ”BASS" and/or "TREBLE" level settings.
Note:
1/ Sound can always be heard via a plugged-in headphone
2/ Speakers (both satellite speakers and subwoofer) will not automatically be
muted even the headphone plug has been plugged to the headphone socket of
the center unit (The user has to select ”H_P" mode to disable the Satellite
speakers and the SubWoofer‘s sound output)

TROUBLE SHOOTING:
If any difficulties found in using CASABLANCA, please check the followings:
1) Make sure all connections described above are properly connected
2) Check if the power adapter is properly connected to an AC outlet.
3) Check your audio source. Make sure your audio source is giving out an audio
signal at the right level. If your audio source is a multi-media sound card, make
sure it has been correctly installed with the right software and connected to line
out.
If the problem persist after checking the above, contract your dealer for information on
servrcmg.
