PLEASE NOTE
Do not place your old thermostat in the trash if it
contains mercury in a sealed tube. Contact your
local waste management authority for instructions
regarding recycling and proper disposal.

Norm was inspired by one of Denny’s other
inventions: Spotter, the multipurpose sensor.
By dreaming up a smart thermostat that could
sync with Spotter sensors, he realized his HVAC
system could operate based on readings from
rooms in the house people actually spend time
in (rather than that empty hallway).

• Before installing, servicing, or removing,

• Use a circuit tester to make sure the circuit is off.
• Installation involves handling of high voltage wires;
follow warnings and safety instructions carefully.
• Professional installation is recommended.
INSTALLATION
Aer power has been disconnected,
use a circuit tester to make sure that
the circuit is off.
Remove the faceplate from the existing
thermostat. Most pop off, while others
need to be unscrewed.
Use the wire label stickers provided
to label the wires with the appropriate
letter (i.e “W”) from the old thermostat
terminals, noting where the wires were
attached to the old thermostat.
WIRING REQUIREMENT:
Norm requires a C wire to power the unit.
If your HVAC system does not have
a C wire, Norm is not compatible.
Disconnect the wires from the old
thermostat and remove the base.

Remove the front cover of Norm and
place the mounting plate on the wall
(if choosing to use the wall plate, place
it before the mounting plate).
Screw the mounting plate into the wall
(in front of the wall plate if choosing to
use the wall plate), making sure it’s flush
with the wall.
Connect wires to corresponding lettered
terminals on the Norm mounting plate.
Place the faceplate onto the mounting
plate until it clicks into place.
Turn power to cooling/heating
system back on.
SETUP
Norm will automatically
turn on once the power
to the cooling/heating
system is restored.
Launch the Wink app
on your smartphone
and follow the setup
instructions on the app.
LOGGINGINTOWINK
Connect your smartphone to your Wi-Fi
network (enter network name and password).
Download or launch the Wink app from the
Apple App Store or Google Play.
Create or sign into your Wink account.
Go to “Add a Product”
Select “Norm”
PAIRING/ONBOARDING
Pairing is the process of getting Norm to
connect with the Wink app. The Wink app’s
onboarding process will walk you through
how to set up and customize Norm.

WARRANTY
LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
Quirky, Inc. (“Quirky”)
Original Purchase Product Warranty
Quirky warrants to the original purchaser (“Purchaser”)
of this Quirky product, for the period of one (1) year
following the date on which Purchaser purchases the
product, that the product shall be free of defects in
design, assembly, material, or workmanship.
Quirky will refund or replace, at its option, any
defective product free of charge.
In order to qualify for this warranty, the Purchaser must
provide the defective product and a copy of the original
receipt of purchase to Quirky for inspection. The receipt
of purchase must indicate the product purchased, price
paid, date of purchase, and name of merchant.
To request service under this warranty, contact Quirky at
866-5-QUIRKY or questions@quirky.com and a Quirky
representative will provide instruction on how to proceed.
This warranty shall be null and void if Quirky determines
that the product has been improperly installed, altered
or tampered with in any way. This warranty does not
protect against normal use, wear and tear, or damage
due to abuse.
THIS WARRANTY CONTAINS THE SOLE WARRANTY
OF QUIRKY. THERE ARE NO OTHER WARRANTIES,
EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED
WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF QUALITY,
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, AND SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES, IF ANY,
ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE TERM OF THIS

INSTALLATION

La plupart se délogent facilement, alors que

Utilisez les etiquettes autocollantes pour

des terminaux de l’ancien thermostat, en
prenant note de l’endroit où ils étaient

de montage jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez
un clic d’enclenchement.
Rétablissez l’alimentation au système de
climatisation/chauffage.
