Getting Started with the Eclipse 2
1. Unpack your Eclipse 2. Compare the contents of the box with the packing list
and visually check that the unit is in good condition.
2. Install the IP Commander software on your computer. Do this by inserting the
CD, that came with your Eclipse 2, into your computer, and running the
program “IPCommander.exe”,
“IPCommander.exe” from the CD.
3. Connect the RF output of the Eclipse 2, the rear panel N-type
type connector,

4. Connect the RF input of the Eclipse 2,

source.
5. Connect the Ethernet port of the Eclipse 2, the rectangular socket on the rear
panel,, closest to the DB25 connector,
connector to the Ethernet port of your computer.
Use a standard Ethernet cable, cat 5 or higher, to make this connection.

6. Set your computer to have a static IP address in the range 10.21.48.xx

subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

7. Turn on the power to the Eclipse 2.
8. Wait for the base station to boot. This will take approximately
approximately one minute.

the completion of booting the base station will say its IP address, through its
loudspeaker.
9. Start IP Commander, by double clicking on the IP Commander icon on your
computer’s desktop.
10. When the “Base Station Configuration” window appears, click the “Add”
“Add
button.
11. Enter the Admin Password, provided with your Eclipse 2, and the IP address of
the base station to be accessed, eg. “10.21.48.1”. Click the “OK” button.
12. Click on the IP address,
address then click the blue “Connect” button, at the bottom left
hand corner of the “Base Station Configuration” window.
13. You will now see the “Overview” panel of IP Commander.
14. Enter the desired receiver frequency, in MHz, into the “Rx Freq” field of IP
Commander.
15. Enter the desired transmitter frequency, in MHz, into the “Tx Freq” field of IP
Commander.
16. You should now be able to receive and transmit a signal, using the Eclipse 2.
When you do this, you will see the Eclipse 2’s signal path activate on the IP
Commander “Overview
Overview” panel.
17. You are now ready to follow
the detailed instructions in the IP Commander
Reference Manual, to customise your Eclipse 2, to suit your particular
circumstances.
