Disc Storage Be careful not to harm the disc because the data on these discs is highly vulnerable to the environment. Do not keep under directly sunlight Keep in a cool ventilated area Store vertically Keep in a clean protection jacket COPY PROTECTION Many DVD discs are encoded with copy protection. Because of this, you should only connect your DVD player directly to your TV, not to a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder). Connecting to a VCR result in a distorted picture from copy - protection DVD discs.. This product incorporates copyright protection technology that is protected by methods claims of certain U.S. patents and other intellectual property rights owned by Macrovision Corporation and other rights owners. Use of this copyright protection technology must be authorized by Macrovision Corporation, and is intended for home and other limited viewing uses only unless otherwise authorized by Macrovision Corporation. Reverse engineering or disassembly is prohibited. Regional Coding Both the DVD player and disc are coded by region. These regional codes must match in order for the disc to play. If the codes do not match, the disc will not play. This unit’s code is region 1. Other regional codes cannot be played in this unit. The unit will display “WRONG REGION.” Region codes are printed on the DVD disc or protection jacket (rear side) 1. Canada, U.S., U.S. Territories 2. Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East (including egypt) 3. Southeast Asia, East Asia (including Hong Kong) 4. Main Function Descriptions 1. Remote Sensor – Use receiver remote control to operate the BAT 2. POWER Button – Press this button to turn the BAT on. Press the button again to turn the BAT off 3. PLAY/STOP (▶∥) Button Press this button to activate the play mode while a disc is loaded into the disc compartment. Press the button again to allows the user to stop the playback 4. NEXT/ F.F (▶▶) Button – Allows the user t advances to the next chapter, track or scene during playback. 5. PREV/ F.R(◀◀) Button – Allows the user to goes back to the preceding chapter, track or scene during playback. 6. MODE Button ( DVD, AV1, TV(option), AV2) - Switches input source 7. Dome Lights Button– Press this button to turn the Dome light on. Press the button again to turn the Dome light off 8. OPEN/ EJECT – Open or Ejecting the disc. 4.1 Turning the BAT On/Off 1. Sliding the screen release lock forward will unlock the LCD screen and it will drop down slightly. The internal friction will hold the screen in position while the system is in use. 2. Pressing the power button on the unit or the remote control will turn the system on or off alternately. When in use the internal backlighting will illuminate the controls. 4.2 Overhead Dome Lights The lights integrated into the BAT are controlled by Push-Button switch. Push-Button switch to the protrusion position will turn the lights off. And other position will allow the lights to turn on. 4.3 Remote Sensor The BAT incorporates three Infrared sensors which relay signals from the remote control to allow the unit to be controlled simply by pointing its remote control at the remote sensor eye. 4.4 DVD Basics To get the optimum use out of the DVD section, make sure you read this section completely. 5. Remote Control Operation Battery Installation Before attempting to operate your Remote Control, install the batteries as described below. 1) Turn the Remote Control face down. Using a clip and fingertip, pull down the battery cover open. 2) Install One “CR2025” batteries as shown. Make sure that proper polarity (+ or -) is observed. 3) Align the cover tabs with the remote control and press down until the cover clicks. If remote doesn’t operate properly 1) Check the polarity +, - of the batteries (Coin-Cell) 2) Check if the batteries are drained 3) Check if remote sensor is blocked by obstacles 4) Check if there is any fluorescent lighting nearby Using the Remote Control 1) Point the Remote Control at the REMOTE SENSOR located on the unit 2) When there is bright ambient light near the unit, the performance of the infrared REMOTE SENSOR may be degraded, causing unreliable operation. 3) The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about 7 meter Battery Replacement When batteries become weak the operating distance of the remote control is greatly reduced and you will need to replace the batteries. Notes 1) If the Remote control is not going to be used for a long time (More than Several Weeks), remove the batteries. 2) Do not mix ALKALINE, standard (CARBON-ZINC) or rechargeable (NICKEL-ADMIUM) batteries WARNING Do not dispose of batteries in fire, Batteries may explode or leak Remote Control 6. DVD Player Operation STEP 1: Press the POWER button. Starting logo is then displayed on the screen. When a disc is loaded When a disc is not loaded STEP 2: Insert a disc, the player identifies disc type automatically and disc type will be displayed in the left top of TV screen. It will automatically start to play. STEP 3: If the power button of the unit or remote controller is pressed, the unit converts to stand-by Mode (Blue LED "ON"). If the power button is pressed again, the power turns on (Blue LED "off") and the unit starts to play (Blue LCD of window "ON"). 7. Function Buttons 7-1. Screen Display During playback, press the DISPLAY button several times, the following screen is displayed. If "Display" button is pressed several times. (Subject to disc type, some screens cannot be displayed.) During playback of a DVD disc During playback of a SVCD, CVD, DVCD, VCD, CD During playback of MP3 7-2. PBC FUNCTION PBC ON: If ‘Playback Control" is written in VCD 2.0 disc or the case, specific scene or information can be selected using main menu displayed on the TV/monitor. 1) Press number buttons (0~9) to select a desired main menu displayed. when selecting a desired main menu, the submenu is displayed on TV/monitor. 2) Select specific submenu to be played. 3) Press STOP button to stop play. It moves on the prior submenu. 4) Press STOP button again to move on main menu. 7-3. Audio (Selecting audio language) Press the Audio button in remote control several times to select various audio languages. This player supports up to 8 audio languages. (This function will work only if the DVD disc supports this function) 7-4. Angle (Selecting watch angle) When a DVD disc such as sports or game is viewed, press the ANGLE button on the remote control several times to watch the same scene from different angles. (This function will work only if the DVD disc supports this function) 7-5. Subtitle (Selecting subtitle language) Press the SUBTITLE button in remote control several times to select various subtitle languages. (This function will work only if the DVD disc supports this function) 7-6. Four Way Rocker (Moving to various directions) Use the four way directional pad to set up other items conveniently. 7-7. Number button Use the number button to input certain chapters. To input number 10 or more, press the +10 button and press the next number button. 7-8. GO TO (Selecting the location to play) 1) Press the GO TO button and select the desired title and chapter or time, playing is started from the selected part. At this time, press the PLAY button to start. 2) Press the GO TO button first and input the desired Title and Chapter. 3) Input the desired starting time by pressing the GO TO Button once more. 7-9. A-B (Playing between two specific points) 1) Press the A-B button once, starting point is specified. 2) Press the A-B button twice, ending point is specified. Then, disc is played between specified A and B point repeatedly. 3) Press the A-B button three times, A-B Repeat Play function is finished. 7-10. Repeat (Repeat setup) Title of chapter can be repeated. In addition, the whole playing back track or title can be displayed repeatedly. During playback of a DVD disc. 7-11. Zoom (Screen zoom-in or zoom-out) Every time the ZOOM button is pressed, the screen can be zoomed in 1.5X, 2X and 3X. 7-12. Volume (Adjusting volume/key) Press the + or Up button of VOLUME buttons to raise the volume. In contrast, press the or Down button to lower the volume. 7-13. Mute (No sound) Press the MUTE button on the remote control once and the sound will be muted. Press the MUTE again for sound. 7-14. PLAY & STOP During playback, press the STOP button on the player or the STOP button on the remote control once, stopped point is remembered. To resume playback, press the PLAY button, playback is started from the stopped point. To end playback, press the STOP button of the player or the remote control, play will stop completely. ❋#VCD PLAY To replay from the stopped scene of VCD, please press PBC button firstly to make PBC OFF as the unit is originally set on PBC ON, And then press STOP button and RESUME button in order. If you do not Press PBC button firstly to keep PBC ON, and then do press STOP button, It automatically go to the first scene.# 7-15. Forward button Press the Forward button in remote control repeatedly, screen is played forward at DVD 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X, 64X. If you play a disc at the normal speed, press the PLAY button again. (Subject to disc type, VCD, CDDA-2X, 4X, MP3-2X). 7-16. Backward button Press the Backward button in remote control repeatedly, screen is played backward at DVD 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X, 64X. If you play a disc at the normal speed, press the PLAY button again. (Subject to disc type, VCD, CDDA-2X, 4X, MP3-2X). 7-17. Pause/Step (still picture) When press the PAUSE button on the remote control, play is paused. Press PAUSE button again to continue. 7-18. Slow Each time the SLOW button is pressed on the remote control, It plays 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 times in forward Direction and 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 times in backward Direction. If you want to play normal mode, press the PLAY button. 7-19. Equalizer Press the EQUALIZER button to display it on the Screen. 8. Setting and Adjustment for LCD 8.1 LCD OSD MENU 1. Press MON SETUP key when any OSD is not showing in display. Then you can see LCD display set up screen. 2. Use▲/▼ button to move menu. 3. Use◄/► button to choose. 4. After 10 seconds later, OSD display will be faded out, or press MON set up key to make it fade out. * Current selected menu will be changed to white highlight. 1. PICTURE Picture mode : USER, SPORTS(DEFAULT), NORMAL, CINEMA 2. BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, COLOR, TINT, SHARPNESS You can adjust each menu from 0~50. 3. FM TX Transmit AUDIO signal through FM frequency. < FM TX off status > < FM TX on status > Channel 88.3, 88.4, 88.5 ~ 90.0,90.1, 90.2MHz : totally 20CHs supported. 4. Mode Convert screen size to WIDE1, WIDE2, NORMAL WIDE 1 WIDE 2 NORMAL 5. Factory setup If you choose this menu, all value will be changed to factory default. 8.2 OSD Function (Only for TV mode) If current mode is TV, please press MON setup key. - Setup OSD, please press MON setup key again to display TV setup osd. MON setup key MON setup key 1. Auto Tuning The unit will find and register available channel automatically. < OSD Menu Auto search > < Remote hotkey auto search > 2. Fine Tuning This option is for detail tuning for registered channel. 3. CH STORE TV channel can be erased or added with this option. < OSD Menu > < Remote hotkey CH store > 4. CH up, down You can change registered channel with ▲/▼ button 5. Mute Mute is only possible with “mute” on remote. 9. Settings and Adjustments for DVD This chapter describes how to set and how to adjust using the on-screen DVD SETUP menu. Using the Setup Menu Setup Using the setup display, you can do the initial setup, adjust the picture quality, and set the various outputs. You can also set a language for the on-screen display and the setup display and limit play back by children. 1) Press the SETUP button to display the “setup menu” on the TV screen. 2) Select the main item you want using the cursor (▲▼) buttons, and then press the ENTER button. PIC MODE Menu Setup PIC MODE Menu allows to user adjust picture state ANGLE MARK Menu Setup Angle Mark Menu allows to user select angle of display. Angle Mark Menu is available only when the disc in with Angle marks (Multi Angle) OSD (On-Screen Display) Language Menu Setup The OSD Language Menu allows the user to select the language for the on-screen display. Press ▶ and then use the (▲▼) buttons to select the desired language. The user can select either English, French or Spanish for the OSD language. Press the SETUP button and using the (▲▼)buttons select “OSD LANGUAGE”. Captions Menu Setup Caption menu allows to user select the caption menu. Captions menu is available only when the disc has caption function Screen Saver Menu Setup Screen Saver Menu allows to user prevent monitor screen from becoming damaged. A moving Logo/Picture appears on the screen when you leave the player in stop mode after several minutes Speaker Setup Menu Setup SPDIF Menu Setup SPDIF menu allows to user can control coaxial digital audio output OP MODE Menu Setup OP (Operational) mode Menu allows to user can control line out or RF Remod output Dual Mono Menu Setup Dual Mono menu allows to user can control output consist of two independent audio channels Stereo : Reproduce both channel as it is. L-Mono : Reproduce the left channel only R-Mono : Reproduce the right channel only MIX-Mono : Mix both channels Compression Menu Setup Compression menu allows to user select the dynamic range of discs sound track It is useful when you listen to a movie at a lower volume without losing dialogue intelligibility TV Display Menu Setup TV DISPLAYSETUP allows to user adjust screen setting (aspect ratio) Press and then use the (▲▼)buttons to select the ppropriate settings. NORMAL/PS : Normal Pan Screen NORMAL/LB : Normal Letter Box WIDE : 16:9 Wide Screen. TV Type Menu Setup TV Type menu allows to user select the color system NTSC : Available in USA, Japan, Korea Etc.. PAL : Available in E.U, China, and ETC Video Output Menu Setup Video output menu allows to user select video output system Audio Menu Setup Audio Setup Menu allows user to select the subtitle language that you prefer. It is possible to change the audio sound track language. This functions is useful only with discs on which multiple audio soundtrack language are recorded SUBTITLE Menu Setup Subtitle menu allows user to select the subtitle language that you prefer. This function is useful when the disc has a function or multiple subtitle language. DISC MENU Menu Setup Disc Menu allows user to select language of disc menu that is displayed in. (Not same as the player menu) Parental (Parental Control) Menu Setup Parental Menu allows user to control the content of movie playback from G to NO_PARENTAL. The Parental Control function allows you to limit viewing to your preference. It works with DVD’s that have been assigned a rating. 1. Use the ▲▼ buttons to select 1G (Children) 3PG 4PG 13 6 PG-R 7 NC-17 8 ADULT NO_PARENTAL (No Parental Control) .Password Menu Setup (For Parental Control) The PASSWORD SETUP allows you to change the parental control password. Press ▶ and then press Enter. OLD PASSWORD Input the old password or the default password (4 digits) NEW PASSWORD Input a new password (4 digits) using numeric buttons CONFIRM Confirm the new password by entering the same new password again. Then press Enter to implement it. Input a password in 4 digits using the numeric buttons then press the Enter button. The Default password is 3308. Defaults Menu Setup Default Menu allows you to reset ALL options to factory defaults. Press and then press Enter to implement the reset. Note : This function will not effect the Parental setting. Playing Audio CDs When playing an audio CD, the DISPLAY Banner appears automatically. It displays the current track and the amount of the time for that track playing, the total amount of time on the disc and the current time running on the disc. Playing MP3 Discs MP3 is a format for storing digital audio. An audio CD quality song can be compressed into the MP3 format with very little loss of quality, while taking up much less space. CD-R discs that have been encoded in MP3 format can be played on your DVD player. Loading and Playing Discs Before you load a disc, make sure that it is compatible with the player The following Discs CANNOT be used with this player : •80mm Discs CDDA or DVD-Video, DVD-Audio • Mini Disc • Laserdisc • CD-I, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM To load and Play a Disc Press the Power button to turn the unit ON. Select DVD mode and insert the disc (Face Up) into the disc compartment.(Hybrid Slot) 10.
