Operating Guide
Operating Guide
Thank you for choosing the Swann Wireless Doorbell.
It’s an ideal unit for easily installing a doorbell without
the hassle of wiring. Simply add some batteries,
mount the two pieces where needed and you are
ready to go! The doorbell features 16 chimes and two
levels of volume to suit your needs and can reach a
distance of up to 50m/approx 165ft when there are

no obstructions.

Mounting the doorbell
(speaker)
The doorbell is mounted by simply sticking it to a wall using the included adhesive
strip(s).
• Peel off one side of the adhesive strip and attach it to the rear of the backing
plate, ensuring none of it is visible from the front.
• Find the area you want to mount the doorbell. Flat, smooth surfaces are ideal.
Make sure they are clean and dry before mounting.
• Peel off the other side of the adhesive strip and attach the doorbell to the
mounting surface.
Mounting the receiver (speaker unit)
There is no requirement to mount the receiver. You may find it more convenient to
place it on a shelf or table. One of the benefits of a battery operated wireless doorbell
is that if you have a large house, you can take the receiver with you. No more missing
visitors because you were all the way at the back of the house or by the pool!
If you would like to mount the device, you simply need to attach the two screws to
a wall. Place them level to each other, about 24mm / 15/16” apart. Depending on
the surface, you may need to drill guide holes and/or use masonry plugs or dry wall
anchors.
Do not insert the screws all the way. Leave about 7mm / ¼” protruding from the
wall. Then place the unit onto the screws, ensuring the heads of the screws pass
through the two mounting holes on the rear of the unit. You can then shift the unit
downwards to ensure it sits on the screws firmly.
Batteries (Receiver)
• The doorbell receiver unit requires 3 x AA batteries to operate (which are not
included). For best performance, use fresh, high quality AA alkaline batteries.
• To install them, unclip the battery cover on the rear of the unit to reveal the
battery compartment.
• The polarity of batteries is indicated by the markings inside the battery
compartment.
Batteries (Doorbell unit)
• The doorbell requires 1 x CR2032 battery (included).
• To access the battery, pry off the back cover using a small, flat-head screwdriver
in the small notch at the bottom of the doorbell.
• To finish, clip the back cover back onto the doorbell unit making sure the rubber
seal is fitted properly to ensure the unit remains water resistant.
Setting the volume and chime
• To change volume, press the volume button on the side of the receiver unit. This
switch toggles between High and Low volume.
• To change chimes, press the chime select button on the side of the unit. The unit
will play the next chime. Keep pressing the button until you hear a chime you
like. You do not need to confirm your selection. The chime playing is the chime
selected and the one which will be heard when the doorbell is pressed.
• The new chime sound will be set for the most recently pressed Doorbell.
If you’ve paired multiple Doorbells, then you can set the chime for each one
independently.
