Introduction
Bluetooth profile K—6 gives an implementation guideline for Bluetooth headset
application, which includes two fimctionalities: Bluetooth headset and Bluetooth
audio gateway. Generally headset profile will be implemented in earpiece, and audio
gateway will be implemented in cellular phone, PBX or the other kind of
communication device. Racewood has developed a fully Bluetooth V1.l compliant
headset.
This manual will serve as a basic instruct for our customers who want to use our
headset. Customers can contact with Racewood for further information and support.
A glimpse at the headset
Figure 1 illustrates the headset
Take a closer look at the headset, several key elements can be found on the
headset. These elemenm include one dual colors LED, four function buttons, one
DC jack, and one on/ofl' switch, these elements are illustrated in figure 2.
Dual colors LED is used to display various internal status for the headset, like
pairing, connecting, talking, etc.
Four function buttons are used to initialize various operate, like reset, pair,
connect, etc.
DC jack is used to charge the battery.
Orr/off switch is used to reset hold system.
Racewood headset must be paired with one Bluetooth gateway before it can be
used Please refer the Bluetooth gateway’s user manual for how to operate the
Bluetooth mobile phone and initialize the various operations from the Bluetooth
gateway side.
Getting Start
Before you start using the headset with a phone or the other device for the first
time, you should:
0 Charge the headset using an appropriate charger.
0 Pair the headset with a device has Bluetooth function inside.
0 Make sure the headset is within range (up to 10 meters with open space in
between)
Charging
The headset comes with a build-in rechargeable battery. The battery is not fully
charged when you buy the headset. We recommend that you charge the headset
until the LED light displays green before using it for the first time.
0 To remind you that you will soon need to recharge the battery, the headset
LED light flashes red when the headset is on.
0 It takes 2~2.5 hours to fully recharge the battery
0 During charging, the LED light displays red
0 When the battery is fully charged, the LED displays green.
Compatible chargers
Charge the battery
0 Hold the headset in front of you.
0 Connect the charger to the headset right side.
Disconnect the charger
0 Tilt the charger plug up to remove it.
Instructions
Instructions in this user‘s guide are based on headset four function buttons and
on/off switch.
Pairing the headset
When you start using the headset for the first time, you must to pair the headset
with the device you want to use, for example, a Bluetooth mobile phone. Below
is the Bluetooth device pairing the headset step:
Step 1: Bluetooth device turn to Bluetooth function mode. Please refer to the
user manual for this device.
Step 2: Press and hold the 8 button about 5 seconds until you hear two low
tone beeps then the LED display green.
Step 3: Press and hold the 9 button about 5 seconds until you hear two high
tone beeps then the LED display green.
Step 3: Press and hold the button about 5 seconds until you hear a continuous
ring tone the LED display flash green.
Step 4: Put the headset and the Bluetooth device closer between 5 meters.
Step 5: Initiate Bluetooth pairing in the Bluetooth device to pair it with the
headset. To do this, please refer to the user manual for the device.
Step 6: When asked headset password, please enter the headset password
“1234” and press accept key or its equivalent. When pairing has been
completed, the headset LED no displays.
Step 7: The Headset is in stand—by mode.
Adjusting the volume
You can adjust the headset earpiece volume during a call.
0 To increase the volume, press the 69 button.
0 To decrease the volume, press the 0 button.
Wearing and positioning the headset
Once the headset and the other device are set up:
0 Place the earpiece in your ear.
0 Clip the RBTHSOO] high up on your body, or attach it to the strap to wear
around your neck.
0 Make sure the microphone on the cable is pointing towards your mouth. It is
now ready for use.
Using the headset
Once you have paired the headset with your phone, you can make and receive
calls using the headset within range of the phone (up to 10 meters in open space).
If your phone supports voice dialing and it is activated, you can use this feature
with the headset. Please refer you phone’s user manual for more information on
voice control.
The following instructions cover the use of the pone with built-in Bluetooth
capability.
Making Calls
Phone functionality is still available when the headset is connected. You can
make a call with the phone or with the headset.
Using voice dialing to make a call
0 Make sure the phone and the headset are on and within range of each
other. Press and hold the 0 button.
0 Alter the beep, voice dial as you normally would.
0 End of the call by pressing the headset 5 button.
You can also make a call using the phone’s keypad or phone book (if, your
phone does not support voice dialing)
Answering cells
Using the (J button to answer a call
0 When the headset rings, press the 0 button.
Note: If the phane rings first, wait unit the headset rings, then press the
U button.
0 End of the call by pressing the 8 button.
Answering a second call
0 You have to use the phone keypad to answer and handle a second call, but
you can till use the headset for talking and listening. You can’t use the
headset buttons during a second call. Refer to the phone‘s user manual on
how to handle more than one call simultaneously.
Rejecting a call
0 When the headset rings, press the 8 button.
Turnng of the microphone
0 During a call, press both the 63 and 0 buttons to turn off the
microphone. A repeated beep is heard while the microphone is turned oh“.
0 Press and hold both the ® and 6 buttons again to resume the
conversation.
Headset battery status
The headset comes with a built-in battery.
Checking the battery status
0 Make sure the headset is turned on, then press both the GB and 9 buttons.
0 The battery status is indicated by one of these three levels:
1. High — three green flashes
2. Medium — two green flashes
3. Low— one green flash
Reset the Headset system
The headset comes with on/ofi' button can reset the headset system. When your
headset can’t work correct, please press on/off switch to reset the headset system.
Troubleshooting
This section lists some problems that you might encounter while using your
headset.
No sound contact between headset and other device
The headset and the device you are using with it have to be paired to recognize
each other.
They also have to be within range of each other.
During pairing it is recommended that the headset and the device you are using it
with are no more than 1 meter apart, with no solid objects in between.
The headset LED displays flashes mi
This indicates that the headset has only limited talk and standby time lefi. Charge
the headset battery for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
No LED display: ofchorging is show:
If you charge a headset battery that is empty, or has not been used for long time
and you don’t turn off the battery, it may take several minutes before a light to
indicate charging (a steady red light) appears.

for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
