GAT NO. 60—4323 OWNER’S MANUAL REWSED Reef Sk i rrmer FEATURES NOTE You need these items (avai Iable at your local RadioShack store) to ower your Reef Skimmer One 9—volt battery for the transmitter. 9. 6V battery Pack for the boat THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW Your Reef Skimmer or transmitter might cause TV or radio interference even when they are operating propely. To determine whether your Reef Skimer and transmitter are causing the interference, turn them off, If the interference goes away, your Reef Skimmer or transmitter are causing it. Try to eliminate the interference by: * moving your Reef Skimmer and transmitter away from the TV or radio * contacting your local Radio Shack store for help. If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC require that you stop using your Rae transmitter. Be careful when you use the boat to avoid high—impact collisions with people and objec' PREPARATION INSTALLING BATTERIES CAUTIONS Use only a fresh battery of the required size and recommended type. If you do not plan to use the boat for a week or more, remove the battery from the transmitter and the batteries from the boat. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts. Never leave dead or weak batteries in the transmitter or the boat. Dispose of batteries and the battery pronptly and properly; do not bury or burn them. ATTAGHING THE TRANSMITTER’ S ANTENNA Thread the antenna into the transmitter's antenna connector. Make sure the connection is tight. IN THE TRANSMITTER You need one Q—volt battery to power the transmitter. For the best performance and longest life. we recommend a RadioShack alkaline battery. 1. Slide the transmitter's OFF/ON switch to OFF. 2. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow marked on it and lift it off. 3. Put the battery in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols(+and-) marked inside 4. Replace the cover and snap it shut. 5. Slide the transmitter’ s OFF/ON switch to ON When the transmitter’ 5 range decreases. replace its battery, FIGURE Place the rider on the seat of the boat. His hands onto the handles. INSTALLING THE ANTENNA TUBE The antenna tube holds up the boat's antenna wire for the best reception and range. Route the wire’ 5 loose end through the tube. Then push the tube securely into the boat‘ 5 antenna tube holder. IN THE BOAT You need 9. GV battery pack to power the motor. 1. Turn the latch on the sheet, then take off the sheet. 2. Turn the latch on the battery compartment cover. then open the cover. 3. Attached the battery pack to the boat' 5 matching connector. Do not force them together. They only fit one way. 4. Replace the battery cover and turn the latch. Replace the sheet and turn the latch. 2 07/ 04/ 2002 Note Gaut As the boat loses power. its turns become wider. When this happens. change the batteries. If you want to drive your Reef Skinmer for long periods of time, we suggest that you pi an extra batteries. ions Use only the recommended batteries. To be sure the boat can l shore. guide it in as soon as you notice it slowing down, When you finished playing, host and transmitter on/off switch to OFF Remove all batteries from the boat and transmitter, Then turn over and lean the boats remove the drain cap from the drain hole, empty any water from the hull and dry the boy thoroughtly before you store it. ‘ Do not leave your boat in the water when you finish playing. Water might seep into thi damage electronic parts, when you are not playing with the boat. place it on the Suppl ied stand to protect the from damage. FOUNOT I ON Left Control Lever -Moves the boat forward or back ward. Right Control Lever --Turns the boat left or right ADJUSTING THE RUDDER ALIGNMENT CARE If the boat does not drive in a straight line when you release the right control lever adjust the rudder alignment control of the back of the sheet. Rotate the control towa is pulling to the right. Rotate the control toward R if the car is oul l ing to the Ief' Never play with your boat in salt water: doing so might rust its parts. Do not expose the boat to temperature extremes.
