Thank you for purchasing the RadioShack 3-in-1 Football Remote. Your remote is a state-ofthe-art device specially designed to operate the major functions of your television (TV), video
cassette recorder (VCR), and cable converter (CBL). It is compatible with most popular brand
TV, VCR, and CBL devices. The remote is pre-programmed before you purchase it. Input the
correct pre-installed code for your device and remote is ready to use.±

The remote’s function keys work the same
as the ones on the original remote control
supplied with your device. However, certain
function keys, such as CH+ and CH–, might
not work correctly depending on the type of
device you are using.

Adjusts the volume.

TV/VCR — Switches
the view between
TV and VCR.

To avoid damaging the video tape, you
must press RECORD twice to begin
recording.

MUTE — Turns the
sound off or on.

# — Rewind

SET — Initiates
programming mode.

Use only fresh batteries of the required size
and recommended type.

Do not mix old and new batteries, different
types of batteries (standard, alkaline, or
rechargeable), or rechargeable batteries of
different capacities.

If you do not plan to use the remote control
for a month or longer, remove the batteries.
Batteries can leak chemicals that can
destroy electronic parts.

•

Rechargeable batteries are to be removed
from the toy before being charged.

•

Rechargeable batteries are only to be
charged under adult supervision.

•

Batteries are to be inserted with the correct
polarity.

•

Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.

•

Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

•

Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable
batteries.

Your remote requires two AA batteries (not
supplied) for power. For the best
performance and longest life, we
recommend RadioShack alkaline batteries.

1. Unseal the flap on the remote, then pull
out the battery compartment.
2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the
screw on the battery compartment
cover, then remove the cover.

3. Place two AA alkaline batteries in the
compartment as indicated by the
polarity symbols (+ and –) marked
inside.
4. Replace the cover and secure it with the
screw.
5. Replace the battery compartment and
seal the flap.
6. When the remote stops operating
properly, replace the batteries within 10
minutes of removing the old batteries.
Otherwise, the programmed settings
and codes will be lost.

Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly.

While programming, make sure to aim the
remote at the device and that the distance
between the remote and device is within 21
feet (7 meters).

See “Code List” on Page 3 and write down
the codes for your device.

2. Press TV, VCR, or CBL to select the
desired device type. The red indicator
blinks once.

Press each key within 10 seconds after
entering the previous entry. Otherwise, the
remote exits the programming mode.

If you press SET at any time except before
entering the 4-digit code, the remote exits
programming mode without saving your
entries. You must then start programming from
the beginning.

1. Manually turn on your TV, VCR, or
cable converter.

3. Hold down SET until the red indicator
blinks twice. ±

2. Press TV, VCR, or CBL to select the
desired device type. The red indicator
blinks once.

4. Enter the 4-digit code. If the code is
valid, the red indicator blinks twice.

blinks twice.

5. Aim the remote control at the device
and press PWR. The device should turn
off.

4. Press 0000 for TV, 0080 for VCR, or 0120
for CBL. The red indicator blinks twice.

If the device does not turn off, repeat
steps 3–5, using another code listed in
“Code List” for your brand of device until
you find one that works.
6. Repeat steps 1–5 for additional
devices.

If you cannot identify the correct code for
your device from the code list, follow these
steps to search for the correct code.

5. Press the appropriate button for your
device (TV, VCR, or CBL).
6. Hold down SET until the red indicator
blinks twice.
7. Aim the remote at your device and
repeatedly press PWR until the device
turns off.
8. When the device turns off, immediately
press the appropriate button for your
device (TV, VCR, or CBL) to save the
code. The red indicator blinks twice.

press PWR to turn it on.
2. Press the desired function keys.

3. Press PWR to turn off the last selected
device. To turn off other devices, press
the desired device key, then press PWR.

The red indicator does not blink when you press a key.

Replace the batteries.

The red indicator blinks when you press a key, but your
device does not respond.

Aim the remote at your device and the distance between the
remote and the device is within 21 feet.

The remote does not control the device or the
commands do not work properly.

Try other listed codes for that brand of device. Make sure all
components can be operated with an infrared remote
control.

CH+ and CH– do not work with your RCA TV.

Due to an RCA design (1983-1987), only the original remote
control can operate these functions.

Changing channels does not work properly.

The original remote control might require pressing ENTER
to change channels. Press ENTER after entering a channel
number.

Limited Ninety-Day Warranty
This product is warranted by RadioShack against manufacturing defects in
material and workmanship under normal use for ninety (90) days from the
date of purchase from RadioShack company-owned stores and authorized

parts and labor; (b) replace the product with one of the same or similar design; or (c) refund the purchase price. All replaced parts and products, and

New or reconditioned parts and products may be used in the performance
of warranty service. Repaired or replaced parts and products are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period. You will be

Keep the remote control dry; if it gets wet,
wipe it dry immediately. Use and store the
remote control only in normal temperature
environments. Handle the remote control
carefully; do not drop it. Keep the remote
control away from dust and dirt, and wipe it
with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it
looking new.
