Charging (from 0%) Normal Charging Fully Charged Wired / Wireless Battery Indicator Wireless Charging Dock For best results, please charge the battery fully the first time you use the Razer Mamba. A depleted battery will be fully charged in about 5 hours. If the mouse has not been used for an extended period, the battery might need to be recharged before usage. If the battery has been totally depleted, you will need to charge the Razer Mamba for a few minutes where the mouse will be in non-functional mode. This is indicated by the red battery life indicator LEDs. The Razer Mamba requires a USB connection that is able to supply sufficient power during battery charging process. The battery charging process of the Razer Mamba may be affected if connected to a non-powered USB hub/ports found on certain keyboards and other peripherals using your razer mamba For optimal charging, the Razer Mamba should be set to “Power Off” mode. Fully depleted batteries may not charge when the mouse is left in “Power On” mode. CHARGING THE RAZER MAMBA When not using your Mamba battery for more than 30 days, be sure to store the battery in a fully charged state. For extended periods of inactivity we recommend removing the charged battery from the mouse. This will prevent damage to the lithium-ion battery due to an overly discharged state. The Razer Mamba can be charged both during wired mode and when placed on the Charging Dock in wireless mode. 2 2 | F o r G a m e r s . b y G a m e r s .™ w ww . r a z e rz o ne . c o m | 23 Page 22 SETTING SENSITIVITY STAGES Page 23 SWITCHING PROFILES 5. Gamers lift-off their mice in order to quickly reposition it back at the centre of the mat for onscreen mouselook-to-hand movement realignment. Resolution is the number of counts per inch of movement sent by the mouse hardware to the OS. E.g. 400DPI means a movement of one inch will result in 400 counts of movement. Without any of the above filters operating, this will result in 400 pixels of movement on the screen. MACROS A macro is a sequence of keystrokes executed in a particular order and timing. It allows you to execute a chain of commands, with the press of just one button for faster response in your games. INDEPENDENT X AND Y-AXIS SETTINGS SOFTWARE UPDATE & RESET Update the Razer driver and firmware software by clicking on the button. This will connect you to www.razersupport.com for the latest driver/firmware downloads. You can also restore your Razer Mamba to the default settings of your current profile by pressing the RESET button. glossary ACCELERATION Acceleration is an internal filter of the driver, and is primarily a legacy option for low dpi mice users. With acceleration enabled, faster mouse movements cover additional on-screen distance. Windows has acceleration turned on by default as a convenience for users assuming that everyone will have 400DPI mice, but this will likely be a hindrance to most gamers and precision users who require greater accuracy. You can preset independent X-axis (sensitivity movements side to side) and Y-axis (sensitivity movements up and down). When this feature is enabled and On-The-Fly Sensitivity is used, a new on-the-fly interface bar that allows further sensitivity adjustments will appear on-screen. MOUSE TO SURFACE CALIBRATION LIFT-OFF DISTANCE POLLING RATE By calibrating the mouse to the particular surface i.e. your preferred mouse mat, it will ensure the mouse tracks your swipes more rapidly and accurately for the best in-game performance at all times. Calibration occurs when the system detects the distance between the sensor and the surface. This refers to the distance (height) between the surface and the mouse as it is lifted off, a technique employed for more efficient swiping during gameplay. The polling rate determines the time intervals that the PC retrieves data from your mouse. A higher value would mean shorter intervals and therefore less latency. 2 6 | F o r G a m e r s . b y G a m e r s .™ w ww . r a z e rz o ne . c o m | 2 7 Page 26 PROFILES www.razersupport.com for support. Do not attempt to service or fix the device yourself at any time. 3. Do not take apart the mouse (doing so will also void your warranty) and do not attempt to service it yourself or operate it under abnormal current loads. 4. Keep your mouse away from liquid, humidity or moisture. Operate your mouse only within the specified temperature range of 0˚C (32˚F) to 40˚C (104˚F). Should you operate it in a temperature that is beyond this range, unplug and switch off the device in order to let the temperature stabilize within the optimal temperature range. A profile allows you to store your various settings such as button assignments and macros as a single group for your convenience. In addition, you can also set your Razer Mamba to change profiles once a particular program is launched. SENSITIVITY STAGE A sensitivity stage is a preset sensitivity value you can swap to on-the-fly. safety and maintenance SAFETY GUIDELINES In order to achieve maximum safety while using your Razer Mamba, we suggest that you adopt the following guidelines: COMFORT Here are some tips to ensure that you are comfortable while using your mouse. Research has shown that long periods of repetitive motion, improper positioning of your computer peripherals, incorrect body position, and poor habits may be associated with physical discomfort and injury to nerves, tendons, and muscles. Please follow these guidelines to ensure comfortable use of your mouse and avoid injury. 1. Position your keyboard and monitor 1. Avoid looking directly at the tracking beam of your mouse or pointing the beam in anyone else’s eye. Note that the tracking beam is NOT visible to the naked human eye and is set on an Always-On mode. 2. Should you have trouble operating the mouse properly and troubleshooting does not work, unplug the device and contact the Razer hotline or go to Page 27 9. If you should experience any physical discomfort while using your mouse, such as pain, numbness, or tingling in your hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck or back, please consult a qualified medical doctor immediately. directly in front of you with your mouse next to it. Place your elbows next to your side, not too far away and your mouse within easy reach. 2. Adjust the height of your chair and table so that the keyboard and mouse are at or below elbow height. 3. Keep your feet well supported, posture straight and your shoulders relaxed. 4. During gameplay, relax your wrist and keep it straight. If you do the same tasks with your hands repeatedly, try not to bend, extend or twist your hands for long periods. 5. Do not rest your wrists on hard surfaces for long periods. Use a wrist rest to support your wrist while gaming. 6. Customize the buttons on your mouse to suit your style of gaming in order to minimize repetitive or awkward motions while gaming. 7. Make sure that your mouse fits comfortably in your hands. 8. Do not sit in the same position all day. Get up, step away from your desk and do exercises to stretch your arms, shoulders, neck and legs. MAINTENANCE AND USE The Razer Mamba is equipped with a laser sensor, which has a tracking beam that is invisible to the naked human eye. There is a little regular maintenance to keep the Razer Mamba in optimum condition. Once a month we recommend you unplug the mouse from the USB port and clean the lens below the Razer Mamba with a soft cloth or cotton swab. Use a little warm water but no soap or harsh cleaning agents. To get the ultimate experience in movement and control, we highly recommend a premium mousing surface from Razer. Some surfaces will cause undue wear on the feet requiring constant care and eventual replacement. Do note that the sensor of the Razer Mamba is ‘tuned’ or optimized especially for the Razer mousing surfaces. This 2 8 | F o r G a m e r s . b y G a m e r s .™ w ww . r a z e rz o ne . c o m | 2 9 Page 28 means that the sensor has been tested extensively to confirm that the Razer Mamba reads and tracks best on Razer mousing surfaces. If you suspect that the lithium-ion polymer rechargeable battery inside the Razer Mamba may be drained (has a low charge), try charging it. If the battery does not recharge after several attempts, it may be non-operational. Please dispose the battery promptly.
