RE224GH GE-to-Honeywell Wireless Translator
Features
• Listens to GE protocol wireless devices: DWS, PIR, Fob, Panic.
• Transmits Honeywell protocol wireless.
• No sensor enrollment required.
• All alarm, supervisory and trouble signals are passed through.
• Main device has its own unique ID for supervisories, complete reporting
of main device tamper, external power supply fault and low battery.
• Dual antennas for both Receive and Transmit diversity for reliable range.
• Back-up battery protects during loss of external power.
Key Instructions
• External supply: 9-18V AC or DC, recommend 30+ mA.
• 3 AAA Alkaline batteries are for backup in case of external supply
failure.
• Enrolling:
Main device may be learned into the panel by tripping the
tamper. Main device does not need to be enrolled in the
panel for the repeating function to work.
GE sensors may be enrolled into Honeywell system using
the tripping enrollment mode. They are not enrolled in the
Translator.
Operation
• Translator hears existing GE protocol sensors and repeats information in
Honeywell protocol to control panel. Generally, sensors send 8 identical
“packets” of information. The Translator ensures that a complete set of
8 packets are repeated to the control panel.
• Translator Main Zone wireless transmission ( unique ID):
Tamper, when cover opened OR loss of AC. Also sends restore.
Low battery, when low or removed batteries. Also sends restore.
Supervisory sent every hour.
We may want to have known
IDs that they can plug into the
panel.

• LED Operation
Green LED
• On if AC power present.
• Blinks on receipt of GE-compatible packets.
Red LED
• On if device low battery (unless there’s no AC
power).
• Blinks on transmit of Honeywell-compatible packets.
• Application Diagram
Because the Translator has two antennas, for both receive
and transmit diversity, it will generally have better range
than all sensors, and many panels (particularly those with
internal antennas).
Place the Translator generally in the center of the all the
existing sensors it needs to hear. It will have no problem
reaching the control panel.
