RUCKUS RADIO MODULE GUIDE
INTRODUCTION
This document describes the required steps that must be taken when utilizing the Ruckus Wireless, Inc. MPE5N33A
radio module in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
HOST CONTROLLER
This module is only to be used for installation in Ruckus Wireless, Inc. products. The host must supply regulated
voltage to the radio module.
POWER SETTING
Maximum output power must comply with the power limits identified on the FCC Grant, Industry Canada REL
listing, or as identified by other regulatory authorities. Power measurements are conducted measurements at the
antenna ports.
ALLOWED ANTENNAS
The module is only to be used with antennas approved by Ruckus Wireless, Inc. Use of an antenna of higher gain
or of a different type than the antennas included in the FCC submission requires additional testing and submission
to the FCC.
ANTENNA PLACEMENT
The antennas used with this module may only be collocated as identified on the FCC grant. Simultaneous
transmissions is allowed as identified within the FCC submission.
This module is not intended for mobile applications. Antenna installation within 20cm of the human body is not
permitted.
DEVICE LABELING
The host device containing this module must either:
1) Make the module label visible so the FCC ID is visible in the end construction
2) Label the end product with the FCC ID and IC ID of the module. For example
“Contain FCC ID: S9G-MPE5N33A” or “Contains IC: 5912A-MPE5N33”
