Dear Brocade Customer,
This letter is to notify you that Brocade is initiating the End of Life (EOL) process for the Brocade®
FastIron Edge X series switches (FESX-6). Brocade provides this notification to assist your planning
for last time purchases of this product.
The recommended replacements are the ICX 6400, ICX 6610, FCX product families. In some cases, the
CES and CER product families are also viable replacements. If you have questions about our products
please contact your account representative for information.
Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition. To assist your transition to our new products, please note the
following so that you may plan accordingly.

Beginning one (1) year after the last customer ship date [8/05/2013] and until the End of Support date
[8/05/2018], end user Service and Support availability and pricing are subject to change without prior
notice.
Following the last customer ship date, no further software development, upgrades, fixes or updates for
the products will be available. Subject to the provisions of your support agreement with Brocade, support
and access to the last two releases of the software for the product will be available through Brocade’s
7x24 Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or on-line via the Brocade MySupport portal.
