INSTALLATION. Nous vous recommandons de lire attentive/went cetle notice. Elle a été rédigée a
votre attention alin de vcus dunner/es indloatians nécessaires a l’insrallatlon de votre terminal.
UTILISATION. Une fois votre EFT93OS installé st équlpé de votre (vos) application(s), vous
l'utiliserez en vous sidant du "guide d’utillsatlon" propre é votre (vos) application(s).
GARANTIE. SECURITE. Afin de bénéllcler de la garantie altabhée a set appareil, et afln de
respecter Ies consignes de sécurlté, nous vous demandons d'uliliser unlquement le bloc alimenfation
agréé SAGEM Monétel el de confierles apérations de démontage unlquemenl é une personne agréée.
Le non respect de ces consignes dégagera la responsabllité du constructeur,
Urgence téléphonique, mise hors ligne :
Vous avez un besoin urgent de téléphoner, mais EFTQSOS oocupe Ia Iigne téléphonique.
Pour récupérer Ia tonalité,
Iaissez votre combiné en position de raccroché, puis au choix :
Appuyez sur la touche rouge (= ANNULATION) ;
ou Lihérez Ia prise murale d'arrivée du réseau téléphonique en déconnectant
le céble téléphonique venanl d'EFT93OS ;
puis bunchez a sa place Ie conjoncteur de votre téléphone.
La tonalité est dlsponible dans un délai maximum de 6 secondes,

1. CONSIGNES DE SECURITE
Pour mettre EFTBBUS hors secteur :
Déconnecter Ie bloc allmentation du réseau d'alimentation électrique.
Pile au lithium:
EFT930$ est muni d'une pile au lithium qui n'est pas accessible a I'opérateur. Seule une personne
informée et habilitée peut étre autorlsée a ouvrir I'appareil el intervenir sur oe composant, Voir Ie chapitre
"Entretien", paragraphe "Pile au lithium",
Réseau d'alimentation électrique :
Prévoir une prise d'arrivée du réseau d'alimentation électrique satisiaisani aux points suivants :
- prise installée é proximité du materiel et aisément accessible ;
~ prise répondant aux normes et réglementations en vigueur dans Ie pays d'utilisatlon;
Pour un équipement avec prise Type A, la protection de I’installation doit étre fixée 3 20A.
Réseau téléphonique :
Prévoir une prise d'arrivee du telephone conforms aux normes et réglementations en vigueur dans Ie pays
d‘utilisation.
Trappes d’accés aux connecteurs :
Les trappes d'accés aux connecteurs, situées sous l’appareil, doivent étre en place au cours de l’utilisation
normale de I’appareil (voir chapitre "Branchement de la conneciique“),
Trappe d‘acces aux Iecteurs SAM :
La trappe d’aoces aux lecieurs SAM, située sous l’appareil, doit etre en place au cours de I'utilisation
normale de l‘appareil (volrchapitres ”(dés)insta||ation des modules SAM).
Raccordement au réseau Ethernet:
Le réseau Ethernet utilisé doit rester interne au batiment. Cette liaison est un circuit TBTS (Tres Basse
Tension de Sécurlté) au sens de la norme EN60950.

2. DEBALLAGE ET CONSTITUTION DU PRODUIT
conserve: soigneusement l‘emballage de votre EFT93DS. II devra étre réutilisé pour tout transport.
L'embaliage coniient 1
' Le terminal. equipé des son rouleau de papier;
' Le bloc alimentation débrochable ;
(Le bloc alimentation Iivré avec votre terminal est spécialement étudié pour celui-ci. N'en utilise: pas
d‘autre.
L’utiiisation d'un bloc allmentation ayant des carac‘téristiques tension/courant apparemment identiques peut maigré
cela entrainer une degradation du terminal).
- La notice d'installalion ;
Le cable torsade a relier a la machine ;
Un cable telephonique et Line prise telephonique specifique (suivant modele) ;
3. UTILISATION JOURNALIERE
Sens d'introduction et de lecture des cartes
Lecture de la piste magnétique (d'une carte é piste ou
d'une carte é puce) :
- Orienler la carte de la faqon suivante :
- cote recto a droite (La piste magnetique se trouve au
verso).
- bard superieurde la carte (déflni par rapport au sens
de lecture du texte) posé a I'entrée du lecteur,
- Faire défiler la carte manueilemeni dans Ie Iecteur.

Une fois installé, EFT9308 est congu pour rester en permanence sous tension et raccordé au réseau téléphonique.

Précautions concernant Ie papier thermique
Sachant que Ie tlcket peut se détériorer en cas de stockage inadéquat, nous vous recommandons d'éviter :
- le stockage aux endroits chauds et humides (proximité de climatiseur. taux d'humidité superieur El 85%) ;
- l'exposition au soleil ou aux rayons ultraviolets de Iongue durée ;
' le contact avec des solvants organiques (adhéslf a solvant) ;
- is contact direct avec des materiaux contenant des plastiflants (enveloppes cu chemises transparentes en
pclychlorure de vinyle) ;
' Ie contact dlrect avec des papiers “diazo” ;

6. ACCES AUX EMPLACEMENTS SAM, SIM ET MMCISDCARD
6.1 TRAPPE SAM
La trappe SAM située sous I'appareil Iivre I'accés aux emplacements SAM, SIM et MMC/SDCARD
Précautiuns : Meme hors tens/on Ie produit en débranchant Ie bloc d'alimentat/‘un.
Ouverture :
Appuyer fermement au centre de la trappe. puls fairs
glisser Ia trappe vers I'avant du terminal.
Fermeture :
Cllps trappe
Placer Ies clips de la trappe dans les ouvenures du
terminal, puis fairs glisser Ia trappe, en appuyanl
fermement sur la zone crantée.

Précaution : Débmncherle terminal avant d'ouvrirla trappe SAM,
- Ouvrir Ia trappe SAM (voir ie § "Trappe SAM") :
‘ On peul lire Ie repérage des emplacements SAMZ,
i SAMa, grave dans le capct inférieur;
- Inirodulre Ie SAM dens son emplacement en prenant
soin de positionnerson coin coupé comme Indique
sur la figure cI—contre, Ia position du coin coupe figure
1 sur Ie capot inferieur ;

L‘accés au Iogement de la MMC ou de ia SDCARD s’effectue par la trappe SAM,
Précaution : Débrancherle pmduit avant d’ouvn‘rla trappe SAM,
Pour Installer une MMC ou une SDCARD :
- Ouvrir Ia trappe d’accés SAM ;
- Insérercomplétement Ia MMC ou Ia SDCARD dans
la fente d'introduction indiquée par la fléche dans Ie
dessin ci-contre, Attention a la position du coin
coupe ; .
- Refermer Ia trappe d'accés SAM. com 5°”pé
Pour désinstailer une MMC ou une SDCARD
- Ouvrir Ia trappe d'accés SAM ;
- Retirer Ia MMC ou Ia SDCARD en appuyant pour
qu'elle puisse s'éjecier :
o Refermer Ia trappe d‘accés SAM.

— Autres gays : Téléphone raccordé au socle via Ia prise "J" (prise type RJ.,.).
~ Brancher ie bloc alimentation F sur la prise d'alimentation électrique.
- Uliliser Ie lien fourni pour attacher Ie cable d’entrée d'alimentation et éviter Ies déconnexions intempestives.
(voir paragraphe "fixation de la noix").

60950), elles doivent étre nécessairement interconnectées a des équipements dont Ies interfaces sont alimentées

8. FIXATION DE LA NOIX
il est vivement conseillé, pour limiter les efforts sur les connexions, de fixer Ia noix sous la surface d'uiilisation du
terminal.
Exemgles de fixation de la noix
Autour d'un pied de table. Autour du cable avec la collier et la support adhésif.
Nota : Vous pouvez également fixer la noix de
branchemenl par une atiache type "VELCROW‘" ou
autre,

9. AUTRES BRANCHEMENTS SUR LE TERMINAL
Sur Ie cfité du terminal se trouvent deux connecteurs USB,

9.2 USB SOUS TRAPPE CONNECTIQUE
Sous Ia trappe connecthue se trouve un connecteur USB. Celui-ci est utilisable avec un cable specifique.
Montage de ce cable :
1— Ouvrir Ia trappe céble a l’aide des quarts de
tour. (Position vehicale comme sur Ie croquis).

2- Couper Ie cable alimentation modem
série entre la bouchon e( la passe fil
principal, et la connecter comme
d’habitude dans son emplacement (voir
paragraphs installation des cébles).

10. REGLAGE DU CONTRASTE
Si vous souhaitez augmenter nu diminuer Ie contraste des caractéres affichés a I'écran, vaus pouvez Ie faire en
appuyant simultanément sur les touches “Point” et "A", ou sur les touches "Point" at “7"
Maintenir I'appui sur les touches aussi longtemps que nécessaire,
11. MISE EN PLACE D'UN ROULEAU DE PAPIER
Attention : Utillser du papier agréé SAGEM Monélel. Diamétre du ruuleau : 40 mm4
L'ulilisaticn de pap|er non approprié risque d'endommager Pimprimante de votre terminal.
1- Supprimer Ie premier tour de papier Loquet de fermeture
en cas de mlse en place d’un rouleau
neuf.
2- Ouvrir Ie capot du logement papier
(figure 13) de la fagon suivante :
- Lever Ie quuet de fermeture sltué a
W'arriere d'EFTSaOS ;
- Accompagner Ie basculement du
capot vers I‘arriére de I‘appareil.

- Ne pas forcer I'ouverture de la
trappe contre les passages de
cable,
3~ lnsmller le romeau de papier dans son
logement selon le sens de déroulement
de la figure 2
4- Dévider Ie papierjusqu'au sommet de
I'apparell (figure 2).
Le maintenir dans cette positicn.

5- Tout en maintenant le papier, refermer
le capot. (figure 3).
6- Appuyer slmultanément sur les deux
extremités superieures de la trappe
papier (figure 3), CeIIe—ci se clipse en
assurant Ie maintien du papier.
EFT93OS est pret é étre utilise.
Astuoe : le niveau de papier est visible par
l'orifice lateral gauche.

L'Installaticn étant réalisée, poursuivre la mise en service d’EFTQSOS en consultant Ies notioes qui ooncernent Ies
appllcations.
11.1 PlLE AU LITHIUM
A I'attention des services de maintenance :
Attention cet appareil contient une pile au lithium. II y a danger d‘explosion s'il y a remplacement incorrect de
celle-ci. Remplacer uniquement par une pile de meme type ou d’un type equivalent recommendé par Ie
constructeur.
Mettre au rebut les piles usagées conformément aux Instructlons de recyclage en vigueur.
Seul un personnel informé et habilité peut étre autorisé a intervenir sur ce composant.
11.2 NETI'OYAGE DE L'APPAREIL
- Débranchez tous les cordons de la noix.
- Utilisez un chiffon doux TRES LEGEREMENT humecté d'eau savonneuse pour nettoyer les capots du terminal
et du socle. Ne pas nettoyer les connecteurs électriques.
12. TRANSPORT ET STOCKAGE
- Utlliser les emballages d'urlgine pour tout transport et stockage de l‘apparell.
- Il est recommandé de debrancher Ies cables de I'appareil Iors du transport.

Thank you for choosing a portable EFT93OS.
|NSTALLATION. We recommend you to read this guide carefully. It has been especially written to
give you the information necessan/ to install your terminal.
USE. Once the EFT9308 is installed and equipped with your applications, you should use it with
reference to the "user guides ” specific to your applications,
WARRANTY. SAFETY. To benefit from the warranty attached to this device, and to respect the
safety instructions, you should only use the SAGEM Monetel approved power adapter and have any
dismantling operations carried out by an approved person.
Non-compliance with these instructions will release the manufacturer's from its liability.
Telephone emergency, going offline:
if you need to make a phone call urgently, but the EFl'93OS is using the telephone line
You can recover the dial tone...
by leaving your handset in the hang up position, then either:
Press the red button (= CANCEL);
or Free the telephone line incoming wall socket by disconnecting
the telephone cable from the EFTQSOS;
and plug in your telephone‘s connector in its place.
The dial tone is available within six seconds at most.

1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Cutting the power supply to the EFT93OS:
Disconnect the power adapter from the power supply network.
Lithium battery:
The EFT93OS has a lithium battery which is not accessible to the operator. Only a trained and qualified
person may be authorized to open up the device and work on this component. See the section
"Maintenance", subsection "Lithium battery",
Power supply network:
You should provide a socket for the incoming power supply satisfying the following points:
- socket installed near the equipment and easy to access;
- socket meeting the standards and regulations in force in the country of use;
For Pluggable Equipment Type A, the protection in the installation is assumed to be 20A.
Telephone network:
You should provide an incoming telephone socket meeting the standards and regulations in force in the
country of use.
Connector access covers:
The connector access covers, located underneath the terminal, must be in place during its normal use (see
section "Making the connections")
SAM reader access cover:
The SAM reader access cover, located underneath the terminal, must be in place during its normal use (see
section "SAM module installation/removal"),
Ethernet connection:
The Ethernet used must remain Inside the building. This link is a SELV circuit (Safe Extra Low Voltage)
according to standard EN60950.

2. UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLING THE PRODUCT
Keep the EFT930$ packaging. It should be reused for any transportation.
The package contains:
- The terminal, equipped with its paper roll.
- The plug-in power adapter,
(The power adapter supplied with your terminal is specially designed for it. Do not use any other unit.
Using a power adapter having apparently identical voltage/current characteristics can nevertheless deteriorate the
terminal).
Installation Instructions.
The twisted cable to link to the machine.
A telephone cable and specific telephone socket (according to model).
3. NORMAL USE
Card reader swipe direction
Reading a magnetic stripe (of a swipe card or smart
card):
- Hold the card as follows:
— face to the right (the magnetic stripe Is on the back).
- card top edge (defined in relation to the reading
direction) placed at the reader entry.
- Pull the card through the reader.
(arrow ®).

Use
Once installed, the EFTQSOS is designed to stay permanently powered and linked to the telephone network.
9 It Is best not to share the telephone line with other equipment.
Precautions for thermal paper
Given that the ticket can deteriorate with poor storage, we recommend you avoid:
- storage in hot wet places (near to air-conditioner, humidity higher than 85%),
- exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet for long periods,
- contact with organic solvents (solvent type adhesive),
- direct contact with materials contalnlng plasticizers (PVC transparent folders or envelopes),
- direct contact with "diazo" papers,
- direct contact with water,
- pressure on or too much rubbing of the paper,

5.1 CABLE INSTALLATION
Precautions: Disconnect the terminal at the connection stub before opening it. Make sure that the cable used
matches the teImInaI type: modem cable (dark gray) or Ethernet cable (yellow).

6. ACCESS TO SAM, SIM AND MMCISDCARD LOCATIONS
6.1 SAM COVER
The SAM cover located underneath the terminal gives access to the SAM, SIM and MMCISDCARD Iocatluns
Precautions: Switch off the product by disconnecting the power adapter.
Ogening:
Press down firmly in the middle of the cover and slide It
towards the front of the terminal,
Closing:
Set the cover clips into the terminal slots and slide the
cover in by pressing firmly on the ribbed zonet

6.2 MODULE INSTALLATION/REMOVAL
The SAM (or SIM) modules are installed under the SAM cover.
Slot 1 is used for the SIM for GSM/GPRS terminals.
Precaution: Disconnect the terminal before opening the SAM cover.
0 Open the SAM cover (see "SAM cover" above):
Look for the marking of the SAM2, SAM3 slots inside,
0 Install the SAM in Its slot with the angled corner
positioned as shown in the illustration opposlte; this
positioning is also Indicated inside.

Get access to the MMC or SDCARD slot under the SAM cover.
Precaution: Disconnect the product before opening the SAM cover.
Installan an MMC or SDCARD:

0 Insert the MMC or SDCARD fully into the slot shown
by the arrow in the illustration opposite. Position the
angled corner correctly.
- Close the SAM access cover.

7.1 CONNECTING THE MODEM STUB

Carry out the following operations:
- Connect the stub to the telephone network:
, Connect the telephone plug C, possibly linked with a standard connector in use in the country, to the
telephone network D. Connect the other end of the cord to socket G on the stub,
» Connect telephone A, If any (the telephone A does not have to be present for the terminal to operate)
- France: Connector B to the telephone network D using the stackable plug.
— Other countries: Telephone connected to the base using the "J" socket (RJ type socket).
- Connect the power adapter F to the power supply socket,
- Use the link provided to attach the power supply input cable and prevent unwanted dlsconnections (see
section "attaching the stub").
Socket G (=socket J): TPSV—3 circult: Telecommunlcation Power Supply Voltage, according to safety standard
EN 60950.
Socket I: This link establishes SELV circuits (Safe Extra Low Voltage) and must be interconnected with equipment
whose ports are powered by similar circuits.
These connections are to be made with the device swltched off.

7.2 CONNECTING THE ETHERNET TO THE STUB
Note: the terminal and the Ethernet cable are clearly color coded (yellow).

section "attaching the stub").
Plugs B and C: These links establish SELV circuits (Safe Extra Low Voltage according to standard EN 60950) and
must be interconnected with equipment whose ports are powered by similar circuits.
Socket G: This link establishes SELV circuits (Safe Extra Low Voltage) and must be interconnected with equipment
whose ports are powered by similar circuits.
These connectlons are to be made with the device switched off.

8. ATTACHING THE STUB
It is strongly recommended to attach the stub under the terminals worktop in order to limit the stresses on the
connections,

10. CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT
If you wish to increase or to decrease the contrast of the characters displayed on screen, press simultaneously on
the "Dot" and "A" buttons, or the "Dot" and "7" buttons.
Keep pressing the buttons as long as necessary.
11. INSTALLING A PAPER ROLL
Important: Use SAGEM Monetel approved paper. Roll diameter: 40 mm,
Uslng unsuitable paper can damage your terrnlnaI's printer.
1— If a new roll is installed, remove the
first turn of paper.
2— Open the paper holder cover
(figure 1a) as follows:
‘ Lift the catch located at the rear of
the EFT93DS;
- Pull the cover open to the rear of
the device (figure 1b).
- Do not force the cover against the
cables below.
3~ Place the paper roll in its location
unwlndlng from the top according to
figure 2.
4- Draw out the paper to the top of the
terminal (figure 2).
Hold the paper in this position.

5— Keep holding the paper and close the
cover (figure 3).
6» Press simultaneously on both ends of
the top of the paper cover (figure 3).
t This snaps In to hold the paper.
The EFTQSOS ls ready for use.
Lip: the paper level can be seen through
the left side hole.
With the installation finished, continue starting up the EFTQSOS with reference to the application guldes.
11.1 LITHIUM BATTERY
Note for maintenance:
Caution, this device contains a lithium battery. There is danger of explosion if its replacement is incorrect.
Only replace with a battery of the same type or equivalent recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries in accordance with the recycling instructions In force.
Only a trained and qualified person may be authorized to work on this component.
11.2 CLEANING THE DEVICE
- Disconnect all the cables from the stub.
- Use soft cloth VERY LIGHTL‘I moistened with soapy water to clean the terminal's covers and base. Do not
clean the electrical connectors.
12. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
- Use the origlnal packaging for transportation and storage of the device.
- It Is recommended to disconnect the cables from the terminal for transportation.
