Thank you for purchasing the iHome iBT12 SoundFlask Portable Bluetooth Speaker. This product is designed to provide
high quality wireless sound for your iPad, iPhone, iPod, computer, PDA or other Bluetooth audio device.
This instruction booklet explains the basic operation and care of the unit. Please read carefully and keep for future
reference.
Maintenance
• Place the unit on a level surface away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
• Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective
material should be placed between it and the furniture.
• Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents, such as thinner
or similar materials can damage the surface of the unit.

CHARGE UNIT BEFORE USE
1. Connect the micro USB plug to the micro USB charging port on the bottom of the unit.

NOTE: The Status Indicator Lights on the top front of the unit are activated when the unit is
ON or when connected to a charging source via the USB cable.
TIP: On some iOS devices, you can view
the battery status of the iBT12 right on your
device’s screen. Look for a vertical battery
icon next to the Bluetooth
icon (when device is paired
and connected).
2. Connect the standard USB plug end of the cable to a power USB port on a computer or other USB
charging device. For first time use, charge unit for about 8 hours.
3. While charging, the Battery Charge Indicator light on the front of the unit will glow solid red. Once
fully charged the light will glow solid green.
NOTE: To save battery life, after 15 minutes without detecting any audio, the unit will power off
automatically.

Using the
Pairing Your Device
iBT12
Pairing is the set-up process to introduce your Bluetooth-capable device to the iBT12. Once your device is
paired, the iBT12 can recognize it and you can play your audio through it.
1. Make sure your Bluetooth device is fully charged. Turn on your Bluetooth device and
make it “discoverable” by turning on Bluetooth mode (check in Options or Settings).
2. Press the
Power Button to turn on the iBT12.
3. Press and hold the
Play/Pause/Pairing Button for 2 seconds. The iBT12 will
beep and the Bluetooth status indicator light will flash blue quickly.
4. “iHome SoundFlask12” should appear in your device’s Bluetooth menu. If “Not Paired”, “Not Connected”
or similar message appears, select “iHome SoundFlask12” to connect it. If prompted for a passcode,
enter “1234” on your device’s keypad.

5. If pairing is successful, 2 beeps will sound and the Bluetooth status indicator light will appear solid blue,
indicating the iBT12 is ready to play music. There should also be an indication on your device. If no
device is successfully paired within 3 minutes the iBT12 will default to previous mode. Once the iBT12
is paired to a device, it will attempt to autolink when the device is within range (about 30 feet).

Using the
Pairing with a Different Device

When you power ON the unit, it will automatically link with the previously paired Bluetooth device as long
as that device is still within range (approx. 30 feet). To pair with a different device follow steps 1 - 4 under
”Pairing Your Device” on previous page.
Playing Audio Via Bluetooth
1. Press the
Power Button to turn on the unit. The status indicators will flash slowly while seeking a
linked device then glow solid blue when a linked device is in range and detected. You can then listen
to audio streamed wirelessly from your paired Bluetooth device.
2. Press the
Play/Pause/Pairing Button to play audio from your device. Press again to pause play
and once more to resume play. When Bluetooth audio is active, the Bluetooth status indicator will glow
solid blue.
3. Press the
Button to go to the beginning of the current track or to a previous track. Press the
Button
to go to the next track. Press and hold either to search within current track. You can also use menu and
track controls on your Bluetooth device to navigate tracks.
4. Turn the Volume Knob to adjust the iBT12 volume. You can also adjust volume on your device.
5. When done listening, press the
Power Button to turn the unit OFF.

Using the
Speakerphone Operation

NOTE: The unit must be powered on and linked to a Bluetooth phone to receive a call.
1. When a call is received, playing music is muted to hear the ring tone. Press
thexxxxxFWD/Answer Call Buttonxto answer the call, or press the
REV/End Call Button
to ignore it. For call waiting function, use phone controls on your device.
2. When a call is completed, press the
previous function.

Using the
Playing Audio via Aux In
1. Connect one end of the included 3.5mm stereo
audio cable to the Aux-in jack on the bottom of the
unit under the splash seal and connect the other end
to the headphone or line-out jack on your audio
device.

Internal Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery
This device uses an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery that should last the lifetime of the device. If you
suspect your battery may be dead, try charging it several times. If the battery does not recharge, please contact
us for repair information.
WARNING/DISPOSAL OF UNIT
Please do NOT attempt to change the battery yourself. If the battery has died and you do not want us to replace your
battery, you should follow the disposal instructions below:
• Never dispose of used batteries/electronics with ordinary solid wastes, since they contain toxic substances.
• Always dispose of used batteries/electronics in accordance with the prevailing community regulations that apply to
the disposal of batteries/electronics. If there are no local regulations concerning battery/electronics disposal,
please dispose of the device in a waste bin for electronic devices.
• Many electronics retailers now recycle batteries and other electronic components at no charge. Check to see which
ones in your area do so.

When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure your personal
safety. However, improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety
and operating instructions carefully before installation and use, and keep these instructions handy for future
reference. Take special note of all warnings listed in these instructions and on the unit.
1. Water and Moisture – The unit should not be used near water. For example: near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.
2. Ventilation – The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper
ventilation. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block

Troubleshooting

Make sure unit is completely charged.
Check that all connections are correct and properly plugged in.
Make sure your device is properly paired with the iBT12.

If the unit does not respond, try inserting a paperclip or similar into the Reset port located on the bottom
of the unit for about 10 seconds.
Trouble pairing device/computer with iBT12
Bluetooth implementation varies depending on your device’s hardware and operating system. Please see
our website for updates on pairing.
• When you power ON the speaker, it will automatically link with the last previously paired Bluetooth
device if the device is still within range (approx. 30 feet).
• If your device does not auto-link when within range, re-pair the device. To do so, first delete the iBT12
from your Bluetooth devices menu.
• Make sure your device is working properly. Check your device’s manual for details on Bluetooth pairing
and linking.

Limited 1 Year Warranty
iHome Products, a division of SDI Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred to as SDI), warrants this product to be free from defects in
workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.
Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was originally purchased.
Should this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect or malfunction during the warranty period,
SDI will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge. This decision is subject to verification of the defect or
malfunction upon delivery of this product to the Factory Service Center authorized by Customer Service.

2. Connectez l'extrémité USB standard du câble à un port USB alimenté d'un ordinateur ou d'un autre
appareil de charge USB. Pour la première fois, chargez l'unité pendant environ 8 heures.
3. Pendant la charge, le témoin de charge de la batterie à l'avant de l’unité s’allume en rouge. Une fois
la batterie complètement chargée, le témoin devient vert fixe.
REMARQUE : Pour économiser la batterie, l’unité s’éteint automatiquement après 15 minutes sans
détection de signal audio.

Coupler votre appareil
iBT12
Le couplage est un processus qui permet la présentation de votre dispositif compatible Bluetooth à iBT12. Une fois
votre dispositif couplé, iBT12 peut le reconnaître et vous pouvez écouter vos fichiers audio à travers l'enceinte.
1. Assurez-vous que votre appareil Bluetooth est pleinement chargé. Allumez votre appareil
Bluetooth et le rendre « détectable » en activant le mode Bluetooth (reportez-vous
aux Options ou Paramètres).
2. Appuyez sur le
Power d'alimentation pour allumer le iBT12.
3. Maintenez appuyée la touche
Talk/Pairing/Play/Pause à droite de l'appareil
pendant 2 secondes. Le iBT12 émet un bip et le voyant d'état Bluetooth clignote en
bleu rapidement.
4. « iHome SoundFlask12 » doit apparaître dans le menu de votre appareil Bluetooth. Si « Not Paired », « Not
Connected » ou un message similaire apparaît, sélectionnez « iHome SoundFlask12 » pour la connecter.

5. Si le couplage est réussi, 2 bips sont émis et le témoin Bluetooth s'allume en bleu, indiquant qu’iBT12 est
prête à reproduire de la musique. Il doit également y avoir une indication sur votre appareil. Si aucun
appareil n'est couplé dans les 3 minutes, iBT12 retourne par défaut à son état précédent. Une fois iBT12
couplée avec un appareil, elle essaie de se connecter automatiquement à un appareil qui se trouve à
portée (dans un rayon d'environ 10 mètres).

Lorsque vous allumez l'enceinte, elle se connecte automatiquement à l'appareil Bluetooth précédemment connecté
tant que cet appareil est à portée (environ 10 m). Pour coupler avec un autre appareil, suivez les étapes
1 - 4 dans « Couplage de votre appareil » de la page précédente.
Écoute audio via Bluetooth
1. Appuyez la touche Power pour allumer l'unité. Le témoin d'état clignote lentement pendant que l’unité
recherche un appareil connecté puis devient bleu fixe lorsqu’un appareil connecté à portée est détecté.
Vous pouvez alors écouter de l'audio diffusée sans fil à partir de votre appareil Bluetooth couplé.
2. Appuyez sur la touche
Play/Pause/Pairing pour lire l'audio à partir de votre appareil. Appuyez
pour suspendre la lecture, appuyez de nouveau pour reprendre la lecture. Lorsque l’audio Bluetooth est
activée, le témoin Bluetooth s'allume en bleu fixe.
3. Appuyez sur la touche
pour aller au début du morceau en cours ou un morceau précédent. Appuyez
sur la touche
pour aller au morceau suivant. Maintenez appuyée pour rechercher dans le morceau
en cours. Vous pouvez également utiliser les commandes du menu et les touches de contrôle de votre
appareil Bluetooth pour parcourir les morceaux.
4. Tournez le bouton Volume pour régler le volume d’iBT12. Vous pouvez également régler le volume à
partir de votre appareil.
5. Lorsque vous aurez terminé d'écouter, appuyez sur la touche
Power pour éteindre l'appareil.

Cependant, une mauvaise utilisation peut entrainer des risques de chocs électriques ou d’incendie. Merci de lire

1. Eau et humidité – Cette unité ne devrait pas être utilisée près de l’eau. Par exemple : près d’une baignoire,
d’un bac de lavage, d’un évier de cuisine, d’un bac à lessive, d’une piscine ou d’un sous-sol mouillé.
2. Ventilation – L'appareil doit être placé de sorte que son emplacement ou sa position ne nuise pas à une
bonne ventilation. Par exemple, il ne doit pas être situé sur un lit, un sofa, un tapis ou une surface similaire
pouvant bloquer les évents; d'autre part, ne le placez pas dans un endroit encastré, tel une bibliothèque ou

utilisé pendant une longue période, débranchez le de la prise murale et déconnectez l'antenne ou le câble
du système. Ceci permettra d'éviter d'endommager l'appareil à cause de la foudre ou d’une surtension.
10. Surcharge – Évitez de surcharger les prises murales, cordons d'alimentation ou prises de courants intégrées
car cela peut entraîner un risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique.
11. Dommage nécessitant un appel de service – Cette unité ne devrait être réparée que par un employé
d'entretien qualifié quand :
A. Le cordon d'alimentation ou la prise a été endommagé;
B. Des objets ou des liquides ont pénétré à l'intérieur du boîtier;
C. L'appareil a été exposé à la pluie;
D. L'appareil a subi une chute ou bien son boîtier a été endommagé;
E. L'appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement ou montre un changement marqué de performances.
12. Périodes de non – utilisation Si l'appareil ne pas être utilisé pendant une longue période, un mois ou plus
par exemple, veillez à charger l'appareil avant de le ranger et périodiquement pendant le rangement pour

Si l’unité ne répond pas, essayez de la réinitialiser en insérant un trombone ou un objet similaire dans le
trou situé en dessous de l’unité pendant environ 10 secondes.
Problème de couplage d'un appareil/ordinateur avec l'iBT12
Le couplage Bluetooth dépend du matériel de votre matériel et de son système d'exploitation. Veuillez
consulter notre site internet pour des mises à jour concernant le couplage.
• Lorsque vous allumez l'enceinte, elle se connecte automatiquement au dernier appareil Bluetooth
précédemment connecté tant que cet appareil est à portée (environ 10 mètres).
• Si votre appareil ne se couple pas automatiquement lorsqu'il se trouve à portée, re-couplez le dispositif.
Pour ce faire, commencez par supprimer l'iBT12 du menu des périphériques Bluetooth.
• Assurez-vous que votre dispositif fonctionne bien. Vérifiez dans le manuel de votre appareil pour plus
de détails sur le couplage et la connexion Bluetooth.

Garantie limitée d’un an
iHome Products, une division de SDI Technologies Inc. (ci-après désignée sous le nom SDI), garantit que cet appareil est exempt de
tout défaut de fabrication et de matériaux, dans des conditions normales d'utilisation, Pendant un (1) an à compter de la date d'achat initiale.
Si cet appareil ne fonctionne pas de manière satisfaisante, il est préférable de le retourner au magasin où il a été acheté. Si le problème
n'est pas résolu à ce niveau et si l'appareil doit toujours être réparé pour une défaillance ou un dysfonctionnement durant la période
de garantie, SDI, à sa discrétion, le réparera ou le remplacera gratuitement. Cette décision est prise suite à une vérification de la
défaillance ou du dysfonctionnement de l'appareil retourné au Centre des services agréé par le Service à la clientèle.
Si une réparation s'impose, appelez le Service à la clientèle au 1-800-288-2792 pour obtenir un numéro d'autorisation de retour et
des instructions sur l'expédition.
Exclusion de Garantie
REMARQUE : Cette garantie n'est valable que si l'appareil a été utilisé aux fins pour lesquelles il a été destiné. Elle ne couvre pas (i)
tout appareil qui a été endommagé par négligence, actes délibérés, mauvaise utilisation, accident, qui a été altéré ou réparé par des
personnes non autorisées ; (ii) tout appareil dont le boîtier est fissuré/brisé ou qui a été endommagé par une chaleur excessive ; (iii)
tout appareil dont le lecteur CD/cassettes est endommagé (s'il existe) ; (iv) les frais d'expédition de l'appareil au centre des services et
de retour à son propriétaire.
Cette garantie n'est valable qu'aux Etats-Unis d'Amérique et ne s'applique qu'au propriétaire initial de l'appareil. En aucun cas, SDI,
une de ses filiales, sous-traitants, revendeurs, dirigeants, administrateurs, actionnaires, membres ou agents ne seront tenus responsables
envers vous ou un tiers de tout dommage direct ou indirect, toute perte de profits, d'indemnisation au-delà du dommage subi. (Certains
Etats n'autorisent pas de limitations de garanties implicites ou d'exclusion de dommages consécutifs, il se peut donc que ces restrictions
