You now became an owner of lM-700L one of the highest featured CDMA cellular phones in the world, Your IM-7001 is an integrated package containing a digital recorder, an answering machine, an alarm, a calculator, a calendar, a world time display, and games that make your daily mobile communication life easier and more productive than ever before Your IM-7OOI has been manufactured under a very strict quality assurance program to deliver best possible quality to our customers During development, ISM-7001 went through rigorous durability tests such as temperature (low, room, and high), humidity (rain and salt water), shock, dust, vibration, and drop tests. Because of such convenient features and durability we put in your [NI-7001, we, at SK Teletech, feel so confident that IM-7OOI shall be a good reliable communication partner in your daily life, 1.1. About This Manual This manual is arranged to help you get familiar with l-l IM-7OUl User Guide 1M-7001 as soon as possible. Information is presented in 12 Chapters and 1 Appendix: In this Introduction, versitile features of IM-7OOI are highlited. Also, we present precautions to keep your IM- 7001 in a good shape. Chapter 2, Getting Started, tells you about the very basic things to do before using your [M-7OOI. Chapter 3, Basic Operations, explains how to do basic operations such as powering on or off, making a mall, answering a call, and others. Chapter 4, Phone Book Mangement, tells you how to manage 'Phone Book' in IM-700L It explains how to store a phone number, how to assign a name and group to the number, how to edit the phone number, and how to retrieve the number from 'Phone Book'. Chapter 5, Advanced Features, tells you how to use IM- 7001's advanced features such as built-in digital recorder, answering machine, alarm, calculator, calendar, world time display, and many others. Definition of Terminology Terminology Description 'press' refers to an action of pressing a key or a button about less than 05 second. 'press and hold down’ refers to an action of pressing a key or a button and holding it doom at least 1 second. 'SKY NavigatorTM' refers to the oval shaped switch with 4 directional keys (lefi, upper, lower, and right). 'Answering Machine’ refers to the built-in answering machine in lM-700l, 'HFK' refers to the optional Hands Free (hr Kit. 'SMS' refers to the Short Messaging System that enables you to send or receive voice or text messages. 'keypad tone volume' refers to loudness of the tone that lM-700l plays when a key is pressed, 'ringervolume' indicates loudness of the ringer that lM-700l plays when receiving incoming calls, 'earpiece volume‘ indicates loudness of the voice sound that lM-700l plays in the earpiece. 1-5 lM-7OUI User Guide 'Standby Mode' indicates the status of lM-7OOI when it waits for incoming calls or your call requests. 'Talk Mode’ indicates the status of lM-7OOI when you are in a call. 'Vibration Mode‘ indicates the mode that enables lM-7OOI to vibrate instead of ringing when receiving incoming calls. 'Silent Mode' indicates the mode that enables IM-7001 to operate silently (no kewad tone, Vibration Mode', and high mic gain enbling you to whisper). 'Answering Machine Mode’ refers to the status when 'Answer Machine' is activated. 'HFK Auto Answer Mode' refers to the mode that enables lM-7OOI to automatically answer incoming calls without having you touch any key. It is only valid when 'HFK' is connected to lM-7OOI. 'Auto Area Code Insert Mode' indicates the mode that enables IM-7OOI to automatically enter the preset area code when you open the flip, 'Auto Redinl Mode' indicates the mode that enables lM-700l to automatically redial if 1-6 l . Silent Mode’ In public places like a theatre or a bus, aloud ringer tone and your voice may bother people around you. Put IM- 7001 into ‘Silent Mode’ to enable lM-7001 to operate quietly. Just press and hold down the [Silent] button on the side panel to activate the feature. ‘Silent Mode’ is defined in the table below; Ringer Tone Disabled. Vibrates instead. Key Tone Disabled. Fully charge your battery supplied with JIM-7001 prior to initial use. Also, the battery may have to be recharged when IM-7OOI is lefi unattended and unused for long periods of time Do not use IM-7001 near water — for example near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, and laundry tub, in a wet basement near a swimming pool or similar location. If IM-7OOI has been exposed to rain or water, have it serviced by an authorized service center near you. Never spill liquids of any kind into M-7OOI. Should spillage occur, have it checked by an authorized technician before use. Do not attempt to service lM-7001 yourself as opening or removing covers may result in a refusal of warranty service at an authorized service center, Please, do not store IM-7001 in vibratory places. 1. Using Battery 2.5. 1. Cautions You MUST use the battery and desk top charger provided by SK Teleteeh. Unauthorized batteries or chargers may cause a damage to your Eli-7001 or an explosion. You MUST NOT press the safety switch located on bottom center of the battery. This is to prevent a fire or an explosion that may happen when two charging pins accidentally contact each other by metal objects such as coins or pins. Please keep the battery and desk top charger in a clean condition, Dirt on the charging pins may slow down or stop the charging process. Do not disassemble the battery or the desktop charger. Do not store the battery or the desktop charger near fire. They may explode. 2. Getting Started 0 Do not drop the battery or expose to a strong shock. It may damage the battery or shonen the battery life. 0 Always store the battery at a room temperature (5 ~ 35°C). In a severe cold or hot places, the battery may decrease its capacity and its life.
