' For the first few uses, operate e'Vac until the battery fuliy dis- charges and the battery indicator LED turns red, then charge it fully before using again. (This will give maximum banery per- fomnanoe for the life of the battery) ' Rechargeable battery performance and product running time will increase after the first few charges. ~ Check the dustbin after 45 minutes of operation or anytime the e~Vac performance decreases, ' Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings. DC Charging Jack in] ll}.1llt'r\ The remote control requires a 9V alkaline battery ' Remove the paper tab from the banery terminals before installing °Twist the bottom of the remote to remove the battery compartment covert 0 Install the 9V battery with the battery terminals going into the unit °Match the large circular terminal on the battery to the larger opening slot inside the bottom of the remote. t Replace the cover. Turn the battery 180 degrees if the battery prevents the cover from locking back into place. “din l‘unt'i Suiltli The main power switch is located next to the DC jack and must be on for eAVac to respond to commands. Switch the main power off for long-term storage or to prevent accidental operation. ' Select the type of floor e-Vac will be cleaning (Hard/Soft). -Select the vacuum time (15, 30 or MAX minutes). 0 Press the Standby/Run button to begin operation. ° Press die Standby/Run button again to cancel. Important: e~Vac has many sensors that help it navigate perilous situations. It will not allow itself to fall forward over an edge. DO NOT interfere or try to 'catch" e-Vac as it approaches the edge of a drop Doing so might confuse its sensors and actually cause it to fall. llmn l\|)t‘ St-lmliun Select floor type by repeatedly pressing the FLOOR TYPE button directly on the e~Vac control panel or remote control. A blue LED indicates the active selection. ~ Select SOFT for cleaning carpets with maximum sweeping action of the rolling brush. ‘Select HARD for tile, wood, linoleum and other smooth surfaces for gentle sweeping, reduced friction and optimal hard surface cleaning. A blue LED indicates the active selection. eThe e~Vac shuts off after the programmed time expires. °MAX will run the unit until the battery completely exhausts (about 45 minutes On a full charge). The battery LED indicator will double flash to indicate that the unit is on but in power-save, e-Vac will shut itself off according to its battery level. Press any button to end power-save mode and reactivate the panel lights. 1 0 In the spot-cleaning program, e~Vac concentrates cleans? efforts on the area directly in front of its location when activat . 0 Place e‘Vac directly behind the area you mnt it to clean. 0 Press the SPOT CLEAN button on the remote or control panel - Press the STANDBY/RUN button to toggle on or off the vacuum program. In charge mode (connected to the charger): °A blinking red LED indicates the battery is charging. 'A solid green LED indicates a full charge. In operating mode (disconnected from charger): ‘An amber LED indicates the battery is low‘ -A green LED indicates a sufficient charge (5-45 minutes of operation remains). Use the floor cones to prevent e~Vac from entering a specific area or from crossing from carpet to floor while in the SOFT floor mode. Place the cones up to 12 inches apart to prevent e‘Vac from moving into an area. Cones are not necessary to block edges or stairway landings. 12 The Floor Type, Vacuum Time, Standby/Run and Spot Clean buttons on the remote control are identical in function to those on the control anel. Uniqlt‘re functions of the remote control include an On/Off tron fort e vacuum and a button activated joystick -The vacuum on/otf bunon turns the vacuum and brushes off for quieter o ration while moving elVac from p ace to place. -In the p rammed cleaning modes, the joystic on the remote steers e~Vac while the active program continues to run. Unlock the compartment. ' Press on the circle graphic on the dustbin release (located above the control panel). ' Remove the dustbin compartment. Caution: The edge of the dustbin locls to l / the lid. Do not pull on the locked lid. Remove the lid and empty the dustbin. “lo prevent spilling, hold upright. - Press on the edge of the transparent container—below the locking tab on the lid. ' Pivot the lid from the container. 0 Empty the dustbin into a trash an. Attt‘ssin; nntl ( hunting llw Ditslliin Inspect and clean the dustbin filter. 0 Inspect the filter and wash it artremely dirty. “AS needed, remove and wash the filter in warm sudsy water, rinse and air-dry. Rotate between the included filters to allow continued operation while a washed filter is drying. Reassemble the dustbin. ' Place the filter between the rear wall of the dustbin and the tabs at the bottom. (Clear away any particles at the bottom of the dustbin to assure that the filter seats properly) 0 Push the filter against the rear of the dustbin. (The circular rib on the filter inserts into the rubber gasket of the dustbin.) lmportant: The filter must rest against the back of the dustbin. °Align the blue and green dots on the dustbin and lid. - Press the pieces together until the tabs lock into place. °Slide the container back into the main housing. - Press down on the left and right edges of the lid to lock the compartment back into place. 15 mmllrm it the power switch is turned on, the unit Is put into Standby mode with the settings defaulted to SOFT floor and a duration oi 15 minutes Standby mode means that all motors are cit and the unit is waiting tor programming, activation, or a signal from the remote control. If the unit is ln Standby mode without any activity, the unit enters Power‘Save mode. Pressing any button on the unit or the remote will return the unit to Standby mode. While In any vacuuming or spot clean program. press any button on the remote control to change operation. if the brushes become tangled or the unit ls trapped and cannot work its own way out, e-Vac will shut itself off and the CHECK BRUSH LED will flash Turn off the main power switch and clean away any materials collected on the brush. Remove the brush if necessary to clean/clear obstmctions. CHECK BRUSH LED will stop flashing when the ohstnrction is removed. If it is titted during operation, e-Vac stops and cancels its pro- gram To resume operation, place it back down on the floor and restart the program.
